I have just upgraded to this from my previous Sony xz,its actually a really good solid phone as you say and definitely seems a big upgrade for me. I've had a Sony flagship for my last 4 contracts but couldn't justify the high price of the Xperia 1 ii this time so this was a great option for me and I don't feel like I'm missing anything. Loving the new screen, the design and fastastic battery life. Great review by the way 👍!
I'm a XZ user as well, if there's one thing that I don't like on the XZ is the speaker, I think is too low even on the highest volume, so is the 10 ii better?
I bought mine 2 weeks age, I got the dual SIM version, there were no stores selling it in my area so had to use Amazon. You can use either 2 SIMs or 1 SIM and an SD card. I'm very happy with the phone. I was about to buy a Sony high res music player until I wrecked my iPhone so chose this which has the features of the music player I wanted. I play a lot of high res and high quality music files and these phones have LDAC which allows streaming of high res music over bluetooth to compatible headphones. It sounds great. I have bluetooth on playing music or podcasts and watch a lot of RUclips content all day and still have power left last thing at night. I chose this instead of the 5ii because I never use the camera and don't run demanding apps or games, I don't need that faster chip and it is over £400 cheaper.
If they would've charged us a bit more for this device but would've given us a 765, then it would be a beast of a midranger. The camera would've been better and everything! Still a really good midrange phone for more media-consuming buyers.

i always buy Xperia: for now i have the XZ2 and it works perfectly. I don't know, in the future, what should i buy... maybe this one or the Xperia 5. Usually i don't buy expensive devices like Xperia 1 or the recent version 1 Mark 2.
I think the camera software needs an update. Having scene detection detecting backlight situations but not kicking in the HDR option is a bit meh if you want to take a quick shot. And also the shutter button has sometimes a delay that I cannot explain as it also happens when in manual mode with fast shutter speed. I think it is hunting for focus, but even in manual focus it shows this strange behavior occasionally which is unacceptable
For the price asked the chipset is just not adequate. Also, why can't Sony use good cameras in their own devices even though all manufacturers buy the cameras from Sony?

it is 7 months that I have the 10 marck 3, I also uploaded a video of vome makes the photos and videos on my youtube profile. the battery is very good, all day taking pictures and videos the battery was still 95%. the problem is the OLED display, you have more brightness, but with the sun it is too much reflection and I speak for all OLED displays. however the Sony Xperia 10 Mk 3 is not bad.
I will wait for the price of Xperia 1 II to drop but if I urgently would need a phone, I would probably go for Xperia 10 II because it looks good, is unique and has some great features like the IP which usually you won't find in this price range
I had a iPhone 11 and i dont regret on this Xperia 10 II, oled screen is pure love. And IT have 60 hrz and 128 Gb. So im happy . Maybe a more expensive phone later that has a tiny better camera and higer herz like 120 but i dont get the feel that this phone is cheap. Love it.
My Xperia XZ 2 Compact microphone died without reason , I both Xperia 10 II few days ago , after installing all APP's and connected the device to the PC , got an error message that I should contact the manufacturer . two of my Sony DSC-X90V cameras got dark spots on the lens . Sony Switzerland does not support anymore the Swiss market . I never had such problems with my Samsung S7, S9 Note 8 and my new S21 Ultra neither Huwaei so you call Sony cool things ? This phone is overpriced especially for the SD 665 which has good battery life but poor performance for Price ratio and camera's not the best for this price bracket same for video playback and display is quite poor look elsewhere for better processor and camera's from other brands 👎

I have an L3 and this would make a nice upgrade. However, I'm not sure about the 21:9 Aspect Ratio. I like to increase the size of the Swiftkey keyboard and I'm not sure how effective that would be with a really narrow phone!

The battery is not very good on the 10 ii I've had the phone for four days now and it doesn't hold a day's worth and I don't play games and my screen is down very low will be taking it back
I have experience with Sony’s unflagship phone and it’s not good. The phone was very slow just after 1 year of use. I will probably give a try at the flagship one and see if I will ever buy Sony smartphones ever again.

Honestly I miss the size of the Xperia plus, the size is smaller, narrower, the camera is better though it must say that. Exceptional battery life. My next phone I will be going for either the 1 II or 5 II. Overall its a great phone. I wouldn't say big upgrade.
Performance wise it's nice, but the screen will go black randomly for a second and then go back to what ever it was you were doing. Thats the only downside I've noticed so far.

This is a good one, nice refresh. I hated Sony phones because they used to have sharp corners and were too boxy. From this video, Sony is prioritising cameras which is sweet. I will first check it in stores to see whether the design is for me. Nice review as always Linus.
While the Xperia 1 II offers a lot of value when it comes to photo/cinema option, I think this is the opposite at this price point and the features it offer. Yes it is IP65/68 rated but might as well get a dedicated waterproof camera for less from Olympus, Nikon or Panasonic. Sony would have at least stepped up their imaging game through software instead to compete with other budget entries on this one. You might as well get Pixel3a if image quality is your priority or others with bigger battery capacity at this price point.
