I need a new phone, one with good audio, good for movies and general video viewing, decent battery life. Things I am least interested in are the camera, I only use my phone camera as a flashlight occasionally, I don't play games or run demanding apps. This phone appeals to me for meeting the above requirements but the taller and narrower form factor is ideal for me because of my freakishly small hands. There is something about Sony I find appealing, their reserved design and reputation for quality is my kind of thing. For many people selecting a new phone is not a battle of specifications. I use the phone, text message and email, twitter, reddit, apple music, audible and a browser. None of those things demand a high spec processor. I couid probably get away with using the cheapest phone on the market.
Can't see the point of a greater chipset. Sony offers dust and water protection, oled screen, close to stock Android performance, built quality, and Sony stamina battery management. Using the Xperia XA2 ultra with snapdragon 630. It never let me down. Battery too. Sony smartphones are meant to last. They're practical, lifelong and handy. Big numbers on camera definition, internal memory, chipset power and battery are also depended on ui. Sony matches greatly all these.

They may look it, but Sony have stopped juming around, look at their camera range and it makes sense now. It's all about unifying the range across the company. The Mark 2 pronunciation is implied across all of Sony.
Its not hard to understand. You have the Xperia 1, 5, and 10.... now we have the Xperia 1ii, 5ii, and 10ii..... the next ones will be 1iii, 5iii, and 10iii. basically, base line, mark 2, mark 3. and so on. its very easy to comprehend. the Xperia 1 will always be the flagship, the 10 will always be the low end, and the 5 the mid range. Mark will tell you how new it is. Similar to how the Pixel 3 is newer than a Pixel 2....
And for more than double the price. Here Xperia 10 ii with WH-CH510 costs 390€ and Xperia 5 is 750€. Of course I will buy cheaper one and in 2 years buy a decent successor of XZ2 Compact.
If you can pick it up at a discount and like Google's featureset, then why not. It wouldn't be my choice, though I did have a Pixel 2 at one stage to try out

@@hubbolhabbol Im not professional photographer, for me nothing different between Samsung S8, Huawei p 30 and Sony really I don't care about the camera.Display and battery are better than the other phones
I really enjoyed your honest review. It would have been nice if you could have suggested either 2, 3, or 4 alternatives of better devices within the same price range (you said € 350 euros) as this Xperia 10 ii 5G you just reviewed ?
Alas, the trend of Sony being different and in many ways better than the rest in high-end, but the opposite in the lower end, continues. This phone has it's place for something like 240 - 270 €, but for 370 € even with a Bluetooth speaker (in Finland) the price is simply wrong. For around that 250 € the water resistance, form factor and OLED-screen would be killer features. Even though this could be financially guestionable, many people could familiarize with the best sides of Sony like the very lightly but thoughtfully customized Android variant, which could warrant sales in the future. Otherwise, this phone is basically murdered by better albeit larger phones currently, especially by Huawei P30 which you can get now for 400 € here. Fair review again and let's hope the price gets corrected and camera improved by updates. It would be sad to leave such a nice looking and feeling device on the shelves completely.
If there were SD730 processor and stereo speakers, it would be fine. But with 665 and mono speaker it’s better to wait for Pixel 4a or even choose 3a as it’s actually better in almost every way.
You will not find a better quality built mid-range at this price. Great OLED screen, great battery life and Gorilla Glass 6 with IP68. What else you need for a mid range? I have the Xperia 5 and it is the best phone I ever had.
@kakro If it is nearly stock android, I don't care. I have an older Snap 430 phone and it's still faster in Social media than samsungs S20U exynos (shorter loading times). In games it of course lost, but everything else is still good.
@kakro A51: 138K Antutu 665: 170k AnTuTu Difference would be even higher since the OS will slow things down. A51 is same price in my country. And it has an even smaller screen to battery ratio than the Sony does.
I like it, but for 350 Euros or so, the SoC needs to be improved to something like the S730, minimum would have been S675. I would have love to have an aluminium body, but for the price I guess it's ok. Otherwise, I like it.
This is a phone not a camera... So it's better to focus on network coverage and call quality Then we focus on this amazing Oled display And for camera I think it's amazing if we print them
What do you mean amazing oled display? This display is inferior to all competition in the price range, by far. Being much smaller (while phone is of same size), less bright, not supporting HDR, not being high refresh rate, etc. It's one of the worst screens on the market for the price. Simply compare it with other 400$ phones.
Sony Phone Z1 camera 2013 saw a picture taken at that with and compared to Note 20 ultra the pic resulation is better than note 20 ultra. Amazed. They used 21 mp camera on Z1.
@@flarethefox1278 Both galaxy have more powerful CPU, which is not cool considering a smaller battery (which tend to blow up in S9). @Urho Oksanen Privacy concerns.. I hate the fact, that not a single OS exist in the mainstream market without the OS and preinstalled apps collecting all kinds of user data, which the company uses to push adverts to the user all over the internet.
@Urho Oksanen The Xperia 10 II is a mid level phone, so I realize compromizes must be made. And personally I do not value a triple camera, and other this-and-that features very high. A solid metal body in a sleek housing however oozes quality and longivity. If I can get that without speending money on silly triple cameras and other unnessesary features, then that's what I want. The most expensive snapdragon 665 smartphone
Just buy redmi note 7 😂
😂 right bro
Will it be launch in India?
Sony xperia is best for quality audio and video and camera.
Sony get natural colors and natural sound
What's the game at 3:23 in the video ?
I also want to know bro
Great looking device the Sony Xperia 10 ii. Enough cpu power. Its great value for your money.
If there were SD730 processor and stereo speakers, it would be fine. But with 665 and mono speaker it’s better to wait for Pixel 4a or even choose 3a as it’s actually better in almost every way.
Pixel Made of cheap plastic, below average screen, no ip rating
Is it available in Saudi Arabia?
I have been waiting this phone for a long time because of small size (if we can consider 6' small) but camera is real bummer.
Yes, it's a small phone, coz the screen width are actually same as iphone se.
@kakro A51: 138K Antutu
665: 170k AnTuTu
Difference would be even higher since the OS will slow things down.
A51 is same price in my country. And it has an even smaller screen to battery ratio than the Sony does.
@kakro Do you have Instagram or Telegram?
Bad camera
Not a bad phone, but not even enough if you compare with competitors offers,,
Especially from China like Huawei Nova 5t and Realme 6 Pro
Maybe just like apple, it has its own market..
I like it, but for 350 Euros or so, the SoC needs to be improved to something like the S730, minimum would have been S675. I would have love to have an aluminium body, but for the price I guess it's ok. Otherwise, I like it.
I hope SG telco brings Sony back in their combos
Yes i hope so too
based from my exp w xperia phones
xa2 ultra 3580mah vs note 9s 6/128 w 5020mah... lol they just got battery out before the day ends... w heavy usage 😂
sean anthony lasquite True... I really loved sony’s stamina mode... It can drag the battery life yet doesnt compromise much in the ui visually
Bigger battery can damage much easier than smaller capacity.. Especially asus devices.. They suck real time
@@lukmanulhakeemabang3078 yeah the less capacity the better /s
What's the name of the game they played.
Do you know when and where I can buy this in the uk been looking for a few days now thanks ☺️
It is available in Vodafone so probably you need to check online Sony's website or currys.
@@hardik6496 thank you so much 😊

Can we Saw the Mi 10 Youth edition?????
It's compact right....
Clean review as usual.. awesome..
Does the phone have a good DAC?
What is dac?
what's the life span of xperias on average?
which is the game that he plays in the video.
omg you live in bulgaria no wonder the girl who works with you are so beautiful almost all bulgarian women are crazy gorgeous
Will this phone work with LTE bands in the US? I heard the 5G won't work in the US.
Lte is just 4g this phone dont has 5g support .
This doesn't have the photo pro app from the xperia 1 ii?
And a nice thing is, the custom rom Sailfish OS would be available for the Xperia 10 ll.
How can i buy it in India??
Hope sony give a mass comback
meaning no disrespect...I would rather buy old flagships than new mid range phones...I have Galaxy S9
While performance will be good enough but usually there is some new tech on the newer phones, even In midrange phones.
@@seankossila6478 At the same time, new midrange phones leave out other flagship refinements, that aren't always added to new phones.
What was that game he was playing?
This is a phone not a camera... So it's better to focus on network coverage and call quality
Then we focus on this amazing Oled display
And for camera I think it's amazing if we print them
What do you mean amazing oled display? This display is inferior to all competition in the price range, by far. Being much smaller (while phone is of same size), less bright, not supporting HDR, not being high refresh rate, etc. It's one of the worst screens on the market for the price. Simply compare it with other 400$ phones.
Sony Phone Z1 camera 2013 saw a picture taken at that with and compared to Note 20 ultra the pic resulation is better than note 20 ultra. Amazed. They used 21 mp camera on Z1.
Worth upgrade from xz1?
Worth it, but don't expect any long boost jump performance since xperia 10 ii only use SD 665/4 gb ram
You should probably test EIS on midrange/budget phones in 1080p, as the 4k usually is lacking any good improvements
Sir what should I buy, NOVA 5t or K30 5g. Please advice me sir. Thank you
Why is this everyone's dream phone?
Exactly my question
Because it's simply incredible for its price. Show me the waterproof phone under $400 with good screen, battery life and decent hardware.
@@freyrnjordrson1418 Samsung Galaxy S9, Samsung Galaxy s10E, iPhone SE 2020, LG G8 and LG G8s, want me to go on?
@@flarethefox1278 just please don't add that shitty iPhone SE on your list.
@@flarethefox1278 Both galaxy have more powerful CPU, which is not cool considering a smaller battery (which tend to blow up in S9). With iphone you are jailed in ios, and with LG you'll get such a terrible software support, and won't even get an ability to install Lineage to have a more or less modern android after a few years.
Besides, front camera taking screen's real estate is an instant no-go.
What game is that which they show in the gaming section ??
@kakro thanks ✌️
This is almost the real phone I need.. But get rid of the triple camera, google apps, and make it metal..
It has now been a while since my original post on the Sony. Since then I'v purchased a Samsung galaxy S10e, which I consider a better phone for my needs than the Sony Xperia 10 II. Unfortunately the samsung has a Bixby button.. I'd rather it had not been there.. But you can't win em all..
Happy hunting for your new phone. :)
How do you install twrp recovery and install root on this phone?
