- Jackson Heights, Queens is one of the most culturally and ethnically diverse neighborhoods in New York City. In this week's Dining on a Dime, Lucas Peterson ventures into the back of a cell phone store and finds Lhasa Fast Food, a tiny restaurant that serves delicious, hearty Tibetan food: spicy soups, hand pulled noodles, and momos, a kind of steamed dumpling.

This dude is a great presenter. Enthusiastic and cool, he makes an effort to speak languages and interact with the people around him. Keep it up, really enjoying this channel because of him.
Lucas is seriously one of my favorite hosts on this channel. I hope he never goes away.
binge watching all seasons of dinning on a dime ADDICTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tibetan momo will take over the pizza and burger legacy
howd that work out? just kidding love from Bhutan
Lucas, I'm visiting NYC for the first time next may and have now binge watched all your amazing episodes! Can't wait to try these places!!
This kind of food is the best possible scenario for "fusion" food. I have seen similar instances whenever two countries border each other. For example, the north-east side of India (Assam) that borders Burma, has some very special food, that is unlike anything I have ever seen.
Lucas, you're my fave. I can't even with any other Eater vids unless you're on them :)))
Wouldn't miss it!
I love this guy....would be great if he had a full-length show!
Another really nicely done episode. This is the type of food many locals are not aware of. Thank you for sharing this delicious video. Do Key West Florida next. Wishing you and your family a Blessed Christmas Season. ChefMike
Lived by 74th and Roosevelt for years before moving to Flushing. Never knew this place existed, definitely gonna have to go visit the old neighborhood!!!
Lucas really is the best on Eater. He speaks so well and really allows the viewer to feel like they are enjoying the food with him.
Jackson Heights is an amazing area to live.
You have asians, a couple of blocks down you have Peruvians, Ecuadoreans, Colombians, Mexicans and hindus.
The 7 train should be called the gourmet train because all along the 7 depending on which stop you can enjoy different global cuisines
I don't mean to hate because I totally agree with Jackson Heights diversity, but Hindus represents a group of people who believe in a religion, it's not an ethnicity. You can associate food with an ethnicity, but it's not really possible with religion because food can be so different and diverse for people with the same religion. I get what you were trying to say though, but it would be helpful to be a bit more specific.
Naheed Hossain better terms would be south Asia (being Indian, Bangladeshi, Pakistani, Sri Lankan and Afghani).
Well you are better then that blond thing who says umami on every dish.
You are awesome.
this asian dude should dub his commentary over that blonde's vids. I'd watch that. There's also the 60 yr old hipster, but those vids can't be saved.
+Lucas Peterson Lucas you happen to do freelance work?
Awful Aim . no
Lucas, you're well spoken and it's obvious you know what you're talking about. Can't wait for more episodes.
That zoom in on the slurp is fabulous
always excited to see your new video! :D
+iems ebrahim Thank you, we'll keep em coming.
Lucas, you are the best host this show could have. Keep up the good work!
Nicely done episode. Really wish it was longer though.
It's places like these that make me miss NYC so much!
This restaurant was burned down by a fire in March 2021. I'm so sad!! They still have 2 other locations but this one was special. they're taking donations via gofundme (there's an eaterny article on it)
Probably the best food show host on youtube now. Awesome stuff!
The soup looks bomb ! Its like a speakeasy for food. I am at jackson heights pretty often, so I'm exited to go.
I swear my mouth watered throughout the video
I love your video's!! Hope to see many more of them!! By the way I'm not your every day young groupie lol I' about to be 63 & I love your series! Thank you!!
Thanks for watching! Tune in every Tuesday for more from Lucas.
I've lived in this neighborhood my whole life and never knew this was there. Can't wait to try this!
India has really helped the Tibetan refugees. I hope the rest of the world will do the same.
Great Video! Do South Florida... Through to the Keys.
Great episode! The food looked so good and it's a unique perspective. I don't think I've seen Tibetan food on any shows? Maybe for future episodes with food like this you can include a subtitle for the name of the dish. That way we can know what to look for on a menu!
Hi guys. Last season we did LA. This season we're doing New York. We're planning season 3 in a month or so. Where should we go next? -pb
+Eater ATL!
Dallas
Chicago
+Eater Dallas!
+Eater Chicago!
You should do a whole series of hidden and "secret" restaurants! Small niché places are cool af. Wish we had places like this is norway!
Love the video. Btw does anyone know what song that catchy beat is from from 30 seconds to 40 seconds?
wow its amazing, ive been by that telephone store alot when i was a kid, and even think i got a glimpse of the sign of the resturant, too bad that i never got to try it
Spicy and vegetable heavy, those are a few of my favourite things.
The momo is really good there😎👍🏽juicy
Curious, what's the music playing in the background as you're walking between the stores into Lhasa Fast Food?
He's pretty cool! I like him!
Those dumpling's looks so delicious. Wish we had more Asian restaurant's here.
Been here twice! Thanks to Anthony Bourdain 💖
Lucas needs longer shows
i see lucas, i press like. simple as that
Love jackson heights! You can have a taste from different parta of the world without a passport lol
This is my kind of shop :) :P i Love tiny hidden holes behind holes in walls
That smile at 1:18.
I'm a simple man. I see Lucas, I like the video.
I'd like to live in New York for 6 months... and just find all these hidden gems....
Woah hidden gem. Gj!
Good Job
i didn't know this. i've been to jackson heights plenty of times for momos.
I am curious Tibet is highland and where did they get the flour?
As a Kashmiri I love this.
man, I was there last Sunday around 12pm they weren't open as of yet. We went to a La Picada Azuaya and the food was damn delicious! If you must dine on a dime no better spot than Flushing! use chopsticks and marrow is a great resourse (besides Eater)....peace
queens is the most diverse urban area in the world!
Yo Jackson Heights!!!! Lobsang here right hand man of Jonden Don AND Luksang Don!! Haha here in Vegas Patiently Waiting to make lots of cash!! Free Tibet!!
I went to that place. It was good. It was a bit unique. Jackson Heights doesn't have the best food (don't go to the Bangladeshi or Pakistani restaurants) but food like Momo and Indian Biryani and Shish Kebab is always good in this area.
you should try the one on 73rr street that btw broadwau and roosy right under the train
How did you guys found this restaurant?
I live literally right there... 2-3 streets away from the intersection he mentioned in the beginning lol
Aw man that looks good. Any chance of explaining the ingredients and sauces a bit better in future episodes? I really wanted to know what that red sauce and veggies in the dumplings were.
+Lucas Peterson Nice! Time to bust out some googling and the old blender because that sauce looked delicious!
More info on the prices, interested in those...
that is Yummers
kabaab king and sammys halal is great and also the dumpling vendor on the street
Can you tell me the music at 52 seconds?
Anyone know the song that plays at 0.33 in the video? Can't find it anywhere.
+Zendius1 whimsyland - mark nolan david redwitz try to use shazam. at least it helped me on this one^^
Check out Bohemian Sushi. It's another secret restaurant. But it's definitely not a dime.
Been there
tesbn tuyet v ngon thank
Any prices ?
Where is this in NYC ? What's the address
that's pretty exotic
Hi Lucas, Could you please just make your own youtube account ?. I subscribed eater just for watching your videos.
momos r so bomb
anyone know the song at 0:34?
Damn that looked particularly tasty but this episode was short :(
He power walks like Adam from "hbo girls"
dope
Hey Eater , just out of curiosity what do you guys do with the leftover food ? Because obviously lucas alone couldnt have eaten everything he ordered.
+Calvin Hsiang Our crew generally eats what is left. Thanks for watching!
+Eater great . its calvin hsiUng btw :)
+Calvin Hsiung Sorry about that, autocorrect in our browser!
Chicago
don't forget to cut them in 4 quarters haha
Ladakh is a part of Indian State of Jammu & Kashmir, Kashmir is just another part of the state. It's not disputed either as UN has dropped it from their list.
wood ear mushies... lol the literal translation from chinese: Mu(wood) Er(ear)
TORONTO
Maybe the New Chinatown. The rent is driving the merchants out of lower Manhattan.
the hood tho!
volume is low at first but it picks up quickly... hang on.
The epitome of a "hole in the wall", and why you should make an effort to try them...
The music is overwhelming as the presenter is trying to speak
I thought this video was about that creepypasta thing
I feel bad for the camera crew just watching him eat lol
+kyoto Don't feel bad, we love Lucas. (Signed, the camera crew)
Do Miami as your next destination
Tomas Bof nah.
pork momo are best :D
Good Lord who is the host? come back to LA guys!
What is the dipping sauce?
I think it's tomato and ginger
The above two comments are wrong haha.I'm tibetan and the hot spice consist of red chilli garlic cilantro and salt thats it .
what happens with the food you don't eat on camera?....
As a Filipino, "momo" means "to make out" so I assumed a completely different shack.
Oh dear
thenthuk translates to pulled noodles
Hey Eater who replies back to the youtube comments? Lucas? or you have a designated person for the job. just curious
Lucas replies from his own youtube account. The Eater account is run by a few people, but on Dining On A Dime most of the commenting is done by James, who shoots/edits/produces the show or directs the people that are editing the show. In a shocking twist, James did not write this comment. Pat did. Life is complicated. Thanks for watching.
No more you guys in my kitchen
I'm definitely feeling some type of Asian, but your Spanish is decent so that throws a wrench in the whole thing. But maybe American of Filipino, Indonesian, or Laotian decent?
He's half Irish half Chinese but lived in LA and El Salvador which explains the Spanish.
that orange hat is rediculous
safety first kevin gotta be visible at night
kevin cody yea it would look ridiculous on you gurl, next......
Hema Gurunh good one
This place is closed! Go to Cholsum down the street.
+Lucas Peterson can I just say I've already gone to 4 places based on your recommendation? Keep em coming!
im from around that area. they are still open.
