Last year you helped me get an A in my Research Methods class, and this year you are helping me get another A in Finite Mathematics! Thanks a lot! I would love to see Khan Academy use your videos as a supplement for excel, you can help a lot of people if they find your video! I am going to mention it to them.

Thank you for this video. I am a fraud analyst for a CNP merchant. I know fraud behavior, but I'm not the most educated on statistics, or most forms of math, in general. Understanding this method, and how it relates to rules-based fraud detection engines, and identifying fraud trends, are integral to my success. Thanks again. Quick, easy to understand, and a dry sense of humor. Everything I need in an instructional video.

Just wanted to say thanks - In grad school - taking my 4th research class - but in the past (a while ago!) I always did calculations using calculator or good ol paper and pencil - Trying to learn how to do the calculations in excel, and as a visual learner, this helped a LOT! Thanks again!

That is great to hear. My goal is to make statistics a visual subject.
Good luck in your program as well and I wish you the best of luck. Since you had used paper and pencil, you are probably a bit older this time around. That is great because you are bringing a wealth of knowledge to your educational program.

The exceul formula for standard deviation is for a sample not a population. The formula's are very similar and the sample reduces n by 1 where the population does not. As the sample becomes large this reduction of one has very little impact.
