Here is a terrific march for young players written in the traditional British style. The opening strains are folk-like in nature with underlying modal harmonies, while the stately trio is reminiscent of the processional style of Elgar and other British composers. The “New Forest” refers to a region in southern England established as a royal hunting preserve by William the Conqueror around the year 1079, which has remained largely unchanged since ancient times.

Playing this as an eight grade flute. We played new castle march last year so we call this one it’s cousin since it’s the same vibe and the same composer😂
Everyone here playing this in high school: completely fine
Me, a 7th grader playing this for district band like: *it’s fine, everything’s fine*
Btw any Baritone TC’s out there, I can’t be the only one to exist

@@kidosmilan3717 how’s 9th grade now? Assuming you didn’t get held back obviously
(Also they legitimately stopped us mid-song because it went so bad; low brass was fine tho)

7th grade clarinet and this super fun lol
Wish me luck first time playing it in 8th grade..
I played this for all star band, on baritone bc. Can’t be the only one that thinks this sounds like angry birds
THATS WHAT IM SAYING
Ah it's contest season again
I know it is the same composer but there are many elements that sounds like his Newcastle March.
Yeah I thought the beginning sounded a lot like Newcastle. The very beginning, the low brass and percussion parts leading into the clarinets and then takes a repeat and adds. The middle part with the clarinets and euphoniums sounds really similar too
I’m in 8th grade band and everyone hates this and idk why it’s so good
(I’m a flute)
Exactly!!! I play alto saxophone and it sounds so good!
I am also in 8th grade too!
We would’ve played this in 8th grade UIL but COVID happened
Playing this for my highschool concert season
