i didn’t play this song, i’m here because Brian Balmages is just SUCH a great composer. my favorite is probably Moscow, 1941. he sure can write some amazing compositions
we played moscow 1941 last semester and were playing this one now. I think our school really likes brain balmages.
I've actually met him! My dad is a composer and he has worked with him before.

I played this last year before I left the french horn section back to trumpet due to personal reasons. Anyway at the blackout, the A below the staff was so challenging. Took me weeks to start on that note.
i played this a year ago for distance learning projects over the computer and it is such a good piece bro 😭 i miss it and i hope i can play it for my finale concert this year (my teacher asked for suggestions so i chose that one)

I'm playing this some and I play the French horn right after the blackout, fh and clarinet have a duet after it and it's one of my favorite parts. But the ending, with the B natural, definitely my favorite part.

I play French Horn too! We could not get the timing right on that part, took us forever but we did eventually get it.
As a tenor sax who supported the melody during the blackout section, I can admit it was pretty dope
