Jakob, greetings to you from Ukraine! Your plans are amazing, and I hope that everything will work out for you! You are now embodying my dream, which I hope will come true for me too. I'm in the military, so I won't be able to realize until I defend my home. But after the victory, I hope, if I am alive, I will sail around the world! May the Gods protect you!
Jakob you are doing a wonderful thing and gaining the experience of a lifetime. I wish you all the best for this huge adventure. I will look forward to future videos. Keep well and safe. James.
Very excited for you and your plans. Wish you all the best and fair winds and look forward to see your adventures here on yt through your excellent videos. Respect!
Just a suggestion, if you're coming to Australia , depending on time of year, check into Bundaberg and do the Whitsundays. One of the great cruising grounds.
Respekt - ich werde dabei sein! This is something I consider to be one of the biggest possible adventures and one I almost dream of - almost , as Ihave not yet dreamt of that but thinking of what you are planning to do, makes me daydream and gives me goosebumps! I wish you the best for every day and night and every leg of this journey - it will all be worth it and you will do OK my friend. I am currently in the Australian outback and living my dream - back to Germany in a few weeks. "Immer eine Handbreit Wasser unterm Kiel!"
Fair winds and smooth seas, Jakob. Its a big voyage...take care not to rush it or push the weather in the Southern hemisphere. (And clip on your harness!!) Jon
I subscribed because of your ocean plastic cleanup campaign. I think you need to mention that at the beginning of each video and include the website address. Thank you for making your voyage about something bigger than you.
Hello stranger… good to see you back on the drink ..🌊…finally we get to know your plans … and I’m excited to watching you achieve your circumnavigation ..I noticed you’ve added Patagonia to your route ..I remember when we exchanged messages you were particularly excited about that … here’s wishing you all the best luck and success on your oncoming adventure of a lifetime .. take care buddy .. Safe travels 🙏🏻🫡
@@jakoblangsailing I get where you’re coming from there ..makes sense … watch out for them mountain lions .. I look forward to that particular episode when you eventually get to that neck of the woods … till then safe and pleasant sailing .. oh and btw .. I know it’s quick and easy to cook but try cooking something different from pasta …or you be looking like one …lol Get that fishing line out and tuck into some fresh fish … 😂
I‘m still thinking about it. I have pretty solid hydraulic Autopilot and can produce enough energy onboard to fully rely on the autopilot, but I am thinking about installing one before I head to the high southern latitudes
Indeed, a windvane selfsteering is absolutly essentiell for transoceanic sailing single handedly in small boats. It's not about saving electric energy, it's about reliability. If you follow sailing channels on circumnavigation routes, you will see, that all (!) electric autopilots will fail earlier or later. You may bring along a complete spare system, but that will also fail after some thound miles. Electric autopilots are simply not made for Seriosität offshore work. Windvane-selfsteering systems from quality manufacturers like Windpilot, Aries, Monitor will take you trouble free around the world. If your electric autopilot quits working in mid ocean, then you'r done. You can't steer manually for weeks.
Very, very exciting, it's wonderful to have a plan and to see that plan come to fruition. But I wonder if the cause you hope to publicise will require more of your time than the schedule seems to permit?
Awesome to see you starting your adventure! Can't wait to see you make the journey. The plastic issue. If the bathtub is overflowing, do you grab towels and start cleaning the water up or turn the faucet off first? We need to figure out how to stop the manufacturing of petrol plastic and make it from hemp or plant oils so it will biodegrade in the environment. Silicone is what I try to use while I buy as little plastic as I can. Good luck on your journey and I hope you have a blast!
Please stop over and check out some of Asia it will change your life! Consider that instead of going from Australia over to Africa in one shot. If well be great to see your point of view travelling. Start a Patreon! Can’t wait to see more of your videos!
You should add these stops to teach people about your cause👉🏻 India🇮🇳 (126.6 MILLION kg of plastic waste to oceans yearly), China🇨🇳 (70million kg), 🇮🇩Indonesia 53.3million kg.
Good luck with your adventure/ campaign Jakob. Subscribed, so I will follow along🫡 I’m so thrilled, and really looking forword to follow your journey. Take care and stay safe!! PS. What a luck that I found your chanel❤

Thank you so much! Indeed, Patagonia just has that mythical flare, especially for one who comes from a mountaineering background :)

This is such a cool project. How do you plan to finance this for two years?
Wow, thought you would "just" do a crossing to the Caribbean and back to NL.
Very ambitious.
Wishing you a fantastic trip!!
When you're already across the Atlantic you can also finish the loop ;)

That’s what the second circumnavigation is for. To visit all the places that didn’t make the cut the first time.
