I just noticed that the subtitles on some parts didn't export. I added them afterward and they should appear automatically. If not, turn on the subtitles.
Amazing video! My questions though are your decisions regarding voyage planning. Going out of IJmuiden you could have known the weather. Same for dem helder. Don’t leave when the tide is against you. Good lessons to learn but make sure you are prepared for the ocean voyage where mistakes are much more costly.
Nice vid Jakob … good to see you and your old man as we say here in the Uk …having a fun time together before you set of on your circumnavigation… Sorry to hear about the collision with the Buoy of the coast of France..best to get it out of the way on the beginning of your adventure …like I said …the main thing is your still here to tell the story …hope the repairs are going well and eventually you can continue what you have planned … take care my dear friend and stay safe and continue to make wise decisions …🫡
I love what you are doing my friend. I am double your age and half your skill level but following the same dream. Inspiring at such a young age canus lupus.
What a fantastic video. The Netherlands are beautiful. i wish you all the best for the next leg of your journey. Really enjoyed this. Thank you. Keep well and safe. James.
I checked your tracker and noticed that you reached the Bay of Biscay. Are you worried about the orca attacks happening in coast of spain and portugal? Although I might have heard that they move away from that area in winter.
When is this recorded? It's freezing now here in Amsterdam. Nice to have seen our boat on your video, near the _"orange sluis"_ ... So cool to see and enjoy your _"Rondje Noord Holland"_ as we call this route in the Netherlands... Keep them coming, I just subscribed ❣️
Great video Jakob but you gotta sort that audio! Statistics show that humans can handle lower picture quality but not lower audio. Good luck with your adventures!
Thanks mate! Wind was too strong for pretty much any mic. Included subtitles but just noticed that they didn't export with the video. Added some now :)
Hallo Jakob, uns würde es noch besser gefallen wenn's in Deutsch wäre. Ich hatte das Gefühl das daß Boot mit dem kleinen Steuerrad in der Welle überfordert war.
@@jakoblangsailing Most of the windforcasts don't mention that at sea you sometimes can add 1 bft. cause due to atmosferic pressure that at sea is higher than on land! So i allways add 1 bft when they say 5, its mostly 6! But i like your video and vlog cause i also saw my Yacht :)
Habe ein 3. Reff machen lassen. Original (wobei das Rig von 2010 ist) hatte Wolf nur 2 Reffs. Hatten schon Situationen, wo ein 3. definitiv brauchbar gewesen währe. Lg nach Kärnten :)
8:29 the canals of Amsterdam where built in the 7th century?? Almost, you are only off by a thousand years, but who is counting. but it is much more worrying that you let yourself be surprised by the weather on the North Sea. Skipper; there is no reason why that should have happened to you! Especially as a solo sailor you should not let yourself be surprised by the weather. especially not when you have up-to-date weather reports available
I meant 17th century, but pronounced that badly ;) The only way removing the risk of getting hit by a local weather front is not leaving port at all. You can't really avoid those. But yeah, we reacted too late and had too much sail up when it hit us. The night after Ijmuiden about half of the wind was forecasted by several weather models

Thank you so much! And sorry that I didn't pronounced Ijmuiden right ;) Learnt that afterwards
Video well done, but please use external microphone to do something with the sound of the wind
I did, but it was too strong anyways. Included some subtitles but they didn't export with the video. Just noticed that and added some now

Viel Dank dir! Original war ca. die Hälfte des Windes von mehreren Wettermodellen vorausgesagt
Toll. Weiter so! Was ist Wolf für ein Schiff?
Danke dir! Wolf ist eine Dehler Optima 93 von 1976. Mit viel Arbeit darin
Good luck on your trip. So are you planning to update microphones? Wind is a problem and there are better ways. No worries be safe.
Thanks mate! Included subtitles but unfortunately they somehow didn't export with the video. Just noticed that and added some afterward :)

Already underway and currently in France. Just way behind on the videos ;)
