i think she like, genuinely, DOES enjoy doing this to Elodie, playing with her food, throughout the entire movie. she purrs through all of the scenes where she's tormenting elodie and squishing the guys under her. they knew what they were doing with her

yeah it's made pretty clear that she just does it for vengeance, she could pretty easily just kill the princesses after all and she's even disappointed when they do die lol. never saw it as purring though, thought of it as snarling, but purring is a cuter idea

I am not surprised at the ending for this, considering she only ever did this and tormented those she killed so much because she basically had nothing else to do. She had basically given up on living to the point where she clearly stopped eating. Not even bothering to really do so to the men that went into the cave, but doesn't seem to leave the cave either. Tormented with the failure of protecting her children she had already resigned herself to dying before this all. Simply doing this one last bit of vengeance and initially only desiring to live to such a point to see it through.
Its only till the end I guess she figures that dying for such a simple and stupid thing would be pointless. I never got to see the movie, and still want to, but I assume that her and the princess after this become relatively good if not really good friends. Afterall, they were both set upon each other in a sort of death match were either the problems would end themselves, or one would rid the royals of the other. (Also, not to mention the weak will of the father who was willing to call out his daughter to get her and himself killed)
So all in all, the dragon helped her realize just how corrupt and vial the families were, and how everything up to this point was just made as a sick game for the royals to save themselves.
