After watching this movie, I felt so bad for the dragon’s babies. They didn’t deserve that! 😭
I felt so bad to all the innocent girls that never went it out and just died there, that was the darkest and most horrible part watching this show for me 😭
I feel sorry for the kingdom that was blackmailed by the dragon for centuries, just the act of one man. What can the descendants of the king who killed the baby dragons do for his sins? Would you sacrifice your own children for a murder you never committed?
@eliaswayne8237 The king started this for glory by attacking a dragon who wants to be left alone with her children then the dragon says that she will spare his kingdom if he sacrifice three of his blood daughters every centuries to make up for her 3 babies so the evil king and his descendents trick the dragon into killing 3 fake daughters (daughter in law not by blood). That is why the the king's descendent the Queen happily continue this tradition sacrifice while still looking down on people be commoners and nobles alike.
@@leejames8024also, the kingdom didn't exist until after the king sacrificed his daughters, so they could have left, esp. after the first sacrifice. They chose to stay, and to sacrifice three innocent girls every generation in order to do so.
It's not wonder that they ended up having to go to kingdoms far away to find 'brides' for their prince, cause most surrounding nobility would have wizened up pretty quickly.
Unfortunately in that age, humans would definitely do exactly that. In this day, they would kidnap the babies and experiment on them or test them.
Critics were way too harsh on this. I enjoyed this movie more than I thought I would. Millie’s character struggled a lot but was resourceful, clever and was empathetic towards the dragon after learning the truth
Ikr I was surprised when they teamed up I thought that was different the movie wasn’t bad at all..

I think after elodi spending all that time in the cave and learning her story i think she became the dragons adopted daughter because of how bonded they became
And she got two mothers at the end - the dragon, and the stepmother she finally accepted.
What's good thing about Millie was she was acting most of the time alone and that proved her caliber as an actress. She's really great in this movie.
It struck me, this could be the ancient history of Game of Thrones. The dragon who is now bonded with Elodie move into her land where people respect her as their greatest ally. Later she discovers she is not the last of her kind and with the help of the dragons the kingdom became incredibly powerful. Elodie start a family as a queen and her house will be remembered in history as the "House of Dragon".
the only thing missing is elodie having silver hair.

Finished it an hour ago. Great movie. Graphic without being gory. Recommended.
This movie was really good tho I feel horrible for the dragon who has lost her daughters and was being tried to kill 3 innocent daughters of the king but turns out they were never royal in the first place. That made me cry for a dragon lover myself

I really liked the movie a lot more than I thought I would. Like it wasn't a masterpiece of cinema sure (the critics were too harsh imo) but it was such a fun movie. It was entertaining
What about the healing glow worms? Why didn’t she gather a ton of those to take home? I feel like we left a HUGE treasure behind…
Cause that cave is their home, maybe they’d just die outside of their natural habitat which is that cave clearly. Why take from them when they saved your life and the dragons.

Hab den Film auch auch Netflix geschaut. Seit langem ein Film der ein echter Fantasy-Film ist und auch den Namen verdient hat. Hat mir gut gefallen. Vorallem die Hauptdarstellerin kommt zumeist sehr authentisch rüber, an ein oder zwei Stellen zwar etwas überzogen aber das kann man verschmerzen.

I just watched this movie with my mom and I really liked it! I always liked the concept of the princess befriending the dragon. Poor baby dragons though, as well as all the women who were selfishly sacrificed.

I genuinely thought this movie was good, so when Space Ninja said he thought it wasn’t, I was surprised 😢. I honestly thought this was good, compared to all the other Netflix movies.

Love this movie i just finished watching it with my mum, so good , great jump scares,plot i definitely had it figured out not so long in, the action the adventure the fantasy the settings the effects the outfits the hair,elodies journey from how it was in the beginning to the end , the parents surprisingly actually cared about their kids even the step mom and the father though he got karma even though he tried to the right thing, the prince he actually hated it and felt bad but still doesn't excuse what he has done so its good he accepted his fate at the end,love seeing that rotten horrid vile inhumane monsterous creature of a queen die brutally, im so happy that elodie and her sister and her mom made it alive and that elodie and the dragon team up to the after the real monsters the real ones to blame for their suffering, so sad for the dragon loosing her kids that stupid king kills the dragons kids and thinks he can easily take down the big dragon and thinks asking for mercy will work like you went in the dragons home and killed her kids like wtf you expect to happen like never mess with a mama dragon, the many poor innocent girls who were sacrificed so sad but they basically tried to help those who come after them in case they don't survive, the dragon not seeing each "daughter" is of different race but also really thinking they would give their actual kids up like nah, im glad Elodie showed her hand and got to explain to the dragon and that the dragon listened well when it was on the verge of dying but elodie saved her with those magical healing bugs like they good for light and healing well i knew they were magical they glowing and hey every girl a princess need a animal companion but then she got an actual better bigger animal companion the dragon love them teaming up like thats what i wanted, the dragon is still a for killing those girls cus they didn't do anything wrong like even if they were the real daughters of royal family its still wrong and the dragon should want to protect the girls like its her own kids and go after the king and queen,the dragon becoming what she hates and doing the same thing the king did to her kids makes you no better than them makes you no different, the dragon is a victim still and i was suprised when the dragon speaks i at first thought it was a guy dragon but it was then sounding like older woman its a she, villians are not born they are made but its not always justifiable when going after innocent people by becoming what you hate and doing the same bad things that was done to you and doing it to others who are innocent good people.
The transformation of Elodie reminded me of the female lead character in ready or not.
Red weddings are never good never really end well.
The prince he F sacrificed many girls like he thinks elodie would forgive him and still marry him like he was still going through with sacrificing many girls until he gets to marry the one he wants ,if he actually hated it he should have done something instead of being a F p*ssie like he should have killed his rotten parents.
Only stupid shallow simps would forgive that prince.
The family maybe rich royalty but thats just a cover a facade they are the real rotten to the core monsters they think they better then those of non royal blood but they worse than humans worse than animals worse than monsters they evil.
Those saying she be a good targarean like she'd be better cus she can actually fight and she brave smart resourceful strong and doesn't need to rely on a dragon.
Ok so i thought that it was happening the girls being sacrificed without their families knowledge but now was one of the parents of each girl or both their parents in on it just willing to sacrifice their child for riches and to not suffer the dragons wrath cus thats just f*cked up screwed up messed up, also the queen saying that Elodie knows nothing of what they endured like b*tch please thats no f excuse for what you are doing.

This movie was very thrilling exciting was scared and tensed for Elodie and her family,the pain the sadness the anger every emotion and feeling so very well portrayed I felt it,Millie bobby brown a very talented gorgeous actress.
The scene when elodie yelling for help at the window top of the mountain and the dragon comes suddenly was a huge jump scare I sweared and yelled loudly 😂,I at first the scare would be her almost falling but nope, the Victoria girl I knew she had to have died but her body didn't jump scare me it was just sad , like if she survived she would have exposed the evil royal family or something.
When Elodie was thrown down in the dragon cave I was reminded of alice in wonderland and other things like in the beginning when Elodie going to get home the place is like snowhite and the huntsman place snowhites home after being taken over even very game of thrones like.
The prince really should have just killed his parents like push them down in the dragons cave but he also should die for the lives he tooken he was part of it.
The guy playing the prince I wasn't surprised that that actor would play a prince character like he did before does he like playing a prince a lot.
The outfits Elodie wears I love and how her wedding dress man very beautiful but suffocating and looks painful but the things the dress has wasn't all bad for her when she was trying to live to get away from the dragon to escape like her dress the fabric the tools it helped her.
Millie plays characters with an E like eleven enola and now Elodie.

I saw this movie 4x lol cant wait to read the book i enjoyed it more than i thought. I just dont understand how the dragon didnt catch on sooner since elodies dad came looking for her and clearly he doesnt have the blood so idk 😅 i guess dragon assumed her mom was of the bloodline who killed her babies

My question though is do the dragons eat people? Cause then it’s hard to blame the king for being preemptive cause if these things grow up…the damage they could do would be worse than the act of killing the hatchlings. It was either them or the dragons and I can’t fault them for choosing themselves. The only thing I could fault them was going with like 10 men only to kill a giant fire breathing monster. But I’m glad a lot of people enjoyed this movie. It’s heartening after seeing so many bad reviews (none of which I understand really) for the movie. I thought it was great, I was more or less riveted by the entire movie which is hard to do these days.
"Your kind must pay" means that the dragon didn't start the problem. It was the king who wanted to take the island for himself but failed. In my theory, the dragon never left her territory because she was protecting her babies (like mothers do). If the dragon was really that bad, she would never sided with Elodie in the end.
@@jasmineestrella2808 Yes, she’s intelligent…but again…do dragons in general, eat people?? Or do they eat only sheep and fish and other things caught in the wild? Cause again, maybe this particular dragon stuck to her island…but would her children have? And if they stuck to the island, would they avoid the humans like their mother evidently did? There’s not too much background on dragons and whether or not they avoided people?
In general, dragons eat people depending on the story. In Damsel, however, the king came without a reason. He killed the baby dragons for no reason. He was just an ass. The dragon that blackmailed the king's descendants, even though they can't do anything about the murder of the young animals, isn't any better either. I don't blame the kingdom for always deceiving the dragon and sacrificing other people's daughters. No one would sacrifice their own child if they could avoid it.@@NoIDontActuallyLiveInSeattle

Maybe dragons don’t eat while nesting? But when they’re hatched and hungry…all bets are off. Like I’m trying to understand if it’s canonical in the story that dragons don’t bother people. Cause if they don’t bother people at all….then the dragon’s rationale that its innocent and its hatchlings were innocent are valid. But if dragons eat people in this world…then I understand the king’s actions.
To be clear, I don’t care about in that instance. I’m trying to understand the story as a whole. Would love the context of what happened. What drew the king to the cave in the first place?
@@NoIDontActuallyLiveInSeattlethey have the ability to interact with people so I doubt they’d eat them. She even made a deal, 3 for 3 if she was really that evil she’d just kill everyone but she didn’t. They’d only kill people out of revenge if I had to guess.

Lol, I found this movie very funny because the 'Damsel' was wrong, she was a gold digger, and the dragon followed her because she has bad karma, she is and was no different from the people who tried to sacrifice her, the dragon was following because she is still a viable sacrifice, she deserved to be sacrificed. The dragon already told her, it doesn't matter what the sacrifices do or say, they will still die, because all of them were gold diggers.
