It's literally just a bunch of special effects and creature designs. Making an entire movie you have to sit through just to watch the cool SFX scenes has been a thing at least since the days of Harryhausen. Maybe this is an improvement. If the story is there just as an excuse for the visuals (or the demon mass slaughter as is the case with a Diablo game) why not just skip to those bits?
@ObakeOnna Because this is a turning point in story. Story was having a build-up for 5 acts up to this moment. So it makes sense that this is what is animated. It may not seem like such if you just watch the cinematic with no context
The moment when Inarius dies... the divine exaltation evaporates, the light dims and you realize that you stand in the middle of hell and there is no hope for you. What a sh***y moment to be a crusader.
@GodessWorshipper these guys never went to reddit /r/atheism...cringe... at this moment I am EUPHORIC, not due to any phony God's blessing, but because I am enlightened by my own intelligence... *tips fedora*
Technically speaking, these are Knights Penitent, not Crusaders. Crusaders are an elite force of Paladins and serve the church of Zakarum, and are not in a great place in the current era of Diablo. The Knights Penitent are soldiers of the Cathedral of Light, who worship Inarius. After their crusade into Hell tho, they probably aren't doing well either. I just point this out because in Diablo's lore, Crusaders and Paladins are a very specific group, not just any warrior crusading against Hell is a Crusader.
I've lost count of how many times i've watched this, when it comes to video game cinematics this is the best i've ever seen, the dialogue between Inarius and Lilith is great too, she doesn't waste her words and they hit Inarius to his core "Silence is their judgement." Awesome. He knows she's right and he knows he has gone too far to be accepted back into heaven, there is no turning back his last desperate attempt was doomed from the start.
Whoever came up with the design for Angels in Diablo was a genius. The armor, energy tendril wings and empty void where their head should be is an amazing look that is obviously angelic while remaining distinct from other depictions of angels.
Actual biblical descriptions of angels are way more acid trip than modern angelic depictions. Like a cherub has four faces: human, lion, ox and eagle. ALso they had cloven hooves, legs with no knees, four wings and were accompanied by mechanical wheels covered in eyes. Oh, and they were also on fire and shooting lightning everywhere. So...different
True, I loved that Lilith knew that a hand to hand combat was impossible to win, so she first attacked his soul, his faith, and then finished him. Amazing writing.
@Charlie-tg1lq Amazing writing? Give me a break. Any Man or Angel wouldn't even give Lillith the time of day. Proof? Diablo 4 being released without a Paladin. And look how well D4 is doing 😂 Diablo Immortal is making more money, KEK!
I've been a gamer all my life I'm 40 next week and this is my first diablo. I've never seen a cut scene like it blew me away it's phenomenal. The art direction in this game is absolutely amazing and these games will now be on my must play list I love em .
I like the depiction of his feet hovering over the ground for a few moments, as if the land itself is struggling to deny his power, his holy energy, only to crack and be made to heel--pun not intended.
Inarius is Lucifer, the father of humans. This series is telling an occult truth known by secret societies. Whether or not we believe in these beings, they control the destinies of all
Man the amount of time and detail they put into these cutscenes, the way The light shows the guys nose in his helmet, the way inarius's light curls to fit the door when he enters. Just amazing Edit: all I said was whoever made the Cutscene did a good job, leave it to the internet to start a fight about it🤣
@hardcrasher6470 Look at the ninja theory video. They use an iphone and capture real animation and can have it up and running in a matter of minutes now. What used to take mouths is now done in minutes.
@vikinglife6316Bro if what you said was true, 1000's of CGI artists and animators would be out of work in a week. Clearly this level of quality is not so easily made with an iphone dude 😂
@hardcrasher6470 If i remember right Blizzard does not even make the animations. Its sourced from a outside company. I think it was called Vicarious Visions
2:14 This is the coolest moment, the angel Inarius descending among the demons bringing light! You can feel both his power and his divine essence, well done to the developers. I've watched that moment dozens of times.
I was just coming here to comment on this scene. That landing where the ground breaks before him, he mutilates the demons before him, throws the spear, the angel wing blade spin, and just ALL OF IT! Ugh! Makes me want to go work out.
@brendand2029also loved how those four tendril wings crashed like lightning as he was slowly lowering to the ground, scaring the demons in the process. You never see any of the Diablo villain characters scared of anything, and Inarius had a whole squad of them shaking in their boots.
The music does all if you ask me, but in my imagination the things that should happen in these scenes are completely different and cool than this. This doesn't mean that it is not cool all even now!
The Knight legion is such badass, they could have destroyed the demons army if they didnt lose their morale. Too bad Inarius was so arrogant and went ahead of the battle.
What a strategist Lilith is. Leaving the battlefield because she knew Inarius' emotions would take over and that he would follow her wherever she went. Also like how you can see her just slightly open her palms right before Inarius stabbed her, cuz she knew this wouldn't be the end for her
When i was playing the game and came across all the dead knights, I thought "wow it would have been really cool if they showed us the battle" and then later this cinematic played, and it did not disappoint.
i have never even played the game, but christ almighty that was brutally beautiful. Last time I felt anything like this was the battle of helms deep in the cinema....
Exactly what I was thinking, that battle formation and usage of massive spears is just incredible, and the music and animation remind me of LOTR battles for some reason. It's especially badass because it's so unexpected, you don't see how Reverend Mother Prava (the bald black priest woman) will survive out in front of the shield wall, only for those massive lances to shoot out.
@Gleebi knowing the story, it nearly makes me cry. Inarius and Lilith use to be lovers, and created humanity by procreating. Despite all that, Inarius is planning on murdering Lilith and all of humanity. You can see the grief on her face when she asks about their son.
The messed up thing is those crusaders were doomed from the start. If Inarius had succeeded and killed Lilith, and gained the forgiveness of the high heavens, he would just have left his army to die. He never genuinely cared about them, they were tools for him to kill Lilith so he could go home. The moment he had a chance to do so, he would've taken it and left his followers to die.
Да,но с другой перспективы он просто хотел убить ее и покончить со всеми этим, даже тактически это правильно, хотя конечно твоя точка зрения так-же вероятна
I love how badass archangels are and I hate how they are constantly being trashed in every diablo. But hey without that there will no need of a hero for saving everyone ass.
Yeah, I think my one complaint with how angels are usually treated is it seems like they're less powerful than their demonic counterparts. That said, Inarius's depiction here is absolutely incredible, and he only goes down because he's distracted by grief.
Well it's sad they always treated archangels as weaklings and got trashed by demons even at the movies or comics, novels, books, of course humans love demons and satan nowadays that's why, but archangels are much stronger thou, not the ones pathetic and dumb, but higher than darkness and demons.
Well, canonical history dictates that the ONLY reason Hell hadn't straight squashed the Heavens was that they were horribly divided in their goals and intrest, while the heavens were united against them. In 3, we were shown just how outmatched the heavens truly were, and if not for the MC, they wouldve lost then and there. Course, Malthael just HAD to screw them over further and free the Evils once more, and this time, most likely, permanently, as I dont think anyone still exsist with the knowledge to create new Soulstones, let alone the Black.
@Animefan5890 The angels and demons unapologetically embody the aspects they represent to their strength and to their faults. The prime evils keep getting defeated and sealed away only to reform over time to try and do the same thing that got them wrecked to begin with. Tyrael is probably the only higher being that has had any divergence from his aspect.
Imagine if Inarius had abandoned his quest for false vengeance and accepted that Humanity was his true kin. He could've raised a force so powerful in the latent nephalems that he could've become a 3rd side in the eternal conflict.
Hes an idiot who hates the world he created. Tyrael sheds his wings to become mortal, while this mf kills his son, goes to hell because of some made up prophecy told him he could go to heaven.
Inarius' death made me feel so uneasy. He's a huge asshole but I still felt a shred of sympathy for him, that was brutal. Voice actor delivered the emotions incredibly well.
He was tortured for an eternity in Hell, it broke him mentally, which is why he's so desperate to go home, like a lost child regretting that they'd run away from home.
I have no sympathy. The dude wants to buy his way into heaven by genociding humanity once he's done killing Lillith. Only part that made me uneasy was the part where, much like Imperius, we didn't get to slap the smug off his incorporeal face.
Imagine the fuckin morale boost you'd get being in the front rank, seeing someone so wholly confident and faithful in you and your fellows that she will stand several feet in front of your line and actively pray as if nothing can touch her.
@richardashendale922 Cause he was entirely motivated by trauma and delusions. Everyone except his sycophants, son included, kept making it clear he won’t get what he wants no matter how much he tries to murder Lilith. After all it was the High Heavens who handed him over to be tortured to begin with.
@BlackfangDragon Idk. Even motivated by trauma it seems hard to believe he would think a spear haft to the stomach would be the same as a spear to the heart. His delusions had logic to them. He wasn't senseless.
@richardashendale922 My interpretation is that by then, he simply injured her because he started doubting himself, that the High Heavens will never take him back, so he wanted to see if they will even give him a sign that this is the right thing, but when he injured her and nothing happened, he started finally breaking down.
Inarious was way weaker than I thought he’d be. The moment he had to kill demons with his hands, taking several seconds to do so, surprised me. I thought he was going to just incinerate the minions with his aura. He should’ve stayed back with his army. I suppose that’s why Lilith lured him away. She knew she could take him alone.
Inarius probably gained power by the faith of his adherents. By luring him away from his army, Lilith deprived Inarius from a big boon to his strength, and then on top of that she knew what strings to pull to unravel him mentally, and since she's a greater demon she already gets boosted from the fact that she's in her home turf of hell. Not sure at all if this is canon at all, but it's how I interpreted the scene
@Fuerto203 id argue there was no boon because his adherents worshipped him, an angle estranged from real faith. I mean look at what they did to Vigo that poor guy didn't deserve that, they were almost as evil as Lilith in my opinion.
It's clear to see that Inarius is a very skilled and experienced warrior but let's his blind devotion to the high heavens get in the way of what really matters. He allows that flaw to get the best of him which leads to his army losing hope upon his death.
The way he just landed amongst all of them and just scanned around and they looked at him was badass. You could tell all the demons were like “ok, so who’s gonna be crazy enough to fight him first??”
The way Inarius' hand was shaking after he stabbed Lilith kinda shows that he still loved her in the end amd that he shows some remorse, but in the end he was driven by his pride and desire to return to the Heavens where he felt he belonged
Sigh... The second Inarius responded to her opening taunts showed he cared. If he didnt he wouldnt of said a thing back. Then she would of tried to probe more. He wouldn't of said shit which would of pissed that bitch off!!!! Who cares if the heavens responds with silence. He'll keep fighting his way back into the good graces whether its possible or not. Hes obviously selfish and childish. God should of gave him a stronger sense or morality. When he stabbed her he should of done the headshot move ending her. He already said she had decieved him or in some conflicted way. This was really dragged out but in a great way. A demon would be like one of those game playing psychopaths. Befriend you and lie, cheat, steal, before turning on you. I absolutely love the way he cant help but respond to her. As if hes torn with 1000 emotions trying to justify every action and step and she closes in on him ever making him think twice. He tried to justify his actions but it only shows insecurity. She cheap shots him and then turns psychopathic. Truly shows her hate, manipulation, ect but shes a demon. And she thinks she has free will? Hmmmm was that always the case?. Didnt she say she was going to use the nephilim to fight her future conflict? I thought it was supposed to be an escape? Whos on the crusade now? And where would it have ended? She totally outplayed him on every level. The dialogue. How she got him to turn betray the heavens. She weaponsized everything against him so that if one day he betrayed her she would kill him in grand fashion at every turn. And she did. She had probably known this before it ever happened. Poor soul he thinks she actually loved him. Dang.... id go on a crusade too...
The way the knights actually use tactics and teamwork before their (Totally understandable) rout really impressed me- it would have been all too easy for Blizzard to make them mere cannon fodder.
This scene never stops being freaking amazing, even as it's so sad--Inarius was so full of his dumb self that he condemned so many people to death for what turned out to be nothing.
Thats the amazing thing for me. No matter how many people you sacrifice, it wont give you a place in heaven but rather in hell when you are so selfish to use others as pawns. Truly amazing script (the game itself is debatable atm)
Because blizzard doesn't value its writing anymore. Inarius has always been CLEVER in canon. But apparently he has to be an idiot so that their big strong independent woman can win.
It wasnt an easy fight though, if you look closely you can see that the spear wall was already in the process of getting overwhelmed (many fell back to their swords). Plus the more powerful demons/creatures were hitting the frontlines and disrupting the wal.
@CountCalcium That’s because the idiots only have one row of pikes instead of the veritable hedgehog used by the greek phalanxes so it’s very easy to bypass.
I really love the attention to detail. The CG looks exactly as it should based off the ingame artstyle. But no matter how devout you are. Melting feet hurt.
I LOVE the more modernized rendition of the Macedonian tactic. The sarissa was a tremendously simple, but DEVASTATING weapon. The use of it here was incredibly well done. There was a reason Alexander the Great could never fight defensively- the sarissa was incapable of being used in a defensive manner since it required the army to always keep pushing forward to gore more enemies. You need to seek them out to skewer them. This was single-handedly the best moment of the entire story. Nothing even came close to this moment.
Holy shit I just realized that the 300 Spartans could have made this fighting style into a very devastating fighting style if they fought in a back to back style from the middle of hells gates and not moved it would be even more devastating if it was implemented from inside a tunnel through a mountain ( this would negate a arrow rain and catapults)
@brennanlangless8912 Believe it or not, Spartans did not fight in this manner. Their combat is believe to be more group dynamic. The concept of forming lines like this was not really a thing in Greece at this point. The Macedonians would be the first to really hammer out formation like this so the Spartans wouldn't really have had too much of a difference in the end. The Macedonians didn't use cover to make their advance on the vastly superior Persian forces in both melee and archers. Their tactic was to push forward into the enemy, meat grinder them and keep pushing forward all the while arrows brought them down.
@vladdracul2379 it’s just a thought on a alternate timeline for how they (the ancient Spartans) might/could have been trained/made use of a fighting style that would have been pretty effective for static fighting in a narrow passage with their brothers watching behind them
@vladdracul2379 the Spartans like other Greeks at the time used a hoplite phalanx formation similar to Alexander’s Macedonian army just with shorter spears
Phalanx formations like this did not often skewer enemies in real life because most humans aren't fond of running into slow moving spear/pike formations. It was an excellent defensive formation and very useful for exerting pressure on and pinning enemy formations, not offensive shock tactics. At Issus and Gaugamela, Alexander relied mostly on his Companion cavalry and more mobile infantry to exploit weaknesses in the Persian lines while his other infantry, consisting of phalanx formations (and Hypaspists to guard their flanks) generally fought relatively defensively and pinned enemy forces (and occasionally dealing with Persian cavalry/chariot attacks).
What a cinematic! Absolutely epic. The music also conveys the grandeur of the moment. When Inarius lands among the demons, even though his face is hidden, you can feel all of his pride and disdain towards the foul creatures fowling the same ground as he, pure art.
For a dude who goes on and on about the prophecy, you would think Inarius remembered that the spear of light pierced the heart and not the abdomen. Either that or Inarius strikes me as the kind of guy who only reads the first 10 pages of a novel and then conveniently jumps to the back of it's cover and says : Good book.
I have no idea how I ended up in this game, video whatever it is, but dude this video was absolutely brilliant!!! I'm really really stunned how this is not a actual movie..
No, he was weak minded. She didn’t have to try hard. You don’t see it because you’re missing an important message in their story. Instead you’re focusing on mirroring him. You feel for him and make her out to be the mind deceiver. When in reality he was deceiving himself. The guilt can make your thoughts cloudy.
@singularityphoenix0369 What? she got into his mind, he thought he killed her and let his guard down, turn his back on her and got wasted remember they had a thing going on once😏
Can't say Im not surprise at how Inarius and his legion of Pale Knight turn out... Heck even the Angiris Council at their prime and the Heavenly Host have a hard time maintaining a stable presence in Burning Hell throughout the Eternal Conflict. Inarius is just their advisor and the Pale Knights aren't even Nephalem, just human in heavy armors. So yeah, lets just charge straight up to the Heart of Hell and fight Legions of Demons right on their hometurf. Im sure that will turn out nicely.
To be honest they were smashing the demons up until the point when Inarius got fucked. At that time their "Hope" got diminished, and they started getting fucked
They said it multiple times, Hell's biggest enemy is themselves for not being uniting. Hell would have destroyed Heaven and Angels long ago if it wasnt for them being such backstabbers all the time
But Jim Raynor was a far more superior than Inarius. His love of Kerrigan and belief that she could be saved did get him and his crew in trouble sometimes...but that love and devotion saved an entire galaxy. And Raynor would never leave his army to die, Char was pretty much a Hell of zerg, and he stood on the front lines.
I hate it when the villain is right about everything, because killing Lilith means nothing because someone else is much worse than her and that someone is going to finish off humanity once and for all
Despite how far they've fallen, Blizzard can still make one hell of a cinematic.
If only we could get a movie like this instead of what we usually get, this was amazing.
What in the backwardsness did I just watch?
It's literally just a bunch of special effects and creature designs. Making an entire movie you have to sit through just to watch the cool SFX scenes has been a thing at least since the days of Harryhausen. Maybe this is an improvement. @kanding3369 Right army of light getting butchered by demon army, exactly what you see in kids shows
@ObakeOnna Because this is a turning point in story. Story was having a build-up for 5 acts up to this moment. So it makes sense that this is what is animated. It may not seem like such if you just watch the cinematic with no context
I see stuff like Endgame and what not and I see this, and I just give up hoping there will ever be a starcraft/diablo CU
9:26 Lilith warning us about microtransactions in future seasons
Microtransactions is now the norm in many games... :(
Like! And that’s its shit “online only”!
90% off! What a deal! No way i'm missing this! *slides card*
@DanBurgauddont buy those games and it will stop. Dont buy any micro transactions purchases.
Its people who still pays fault. Vote with your wallet.
lol
I love the emotion that Inarius has in is face
Interesting how does he have a face?
@verihimthered wdym? Inarius' reaction is quite cute imo no homo
@verihimthered You must be fun at Parties my man.
I love his angry face the most
The cinamatic was really insane ! 🔥
The moment when Inarius dies... the divine exaltation evaporates, the light dims and you realize that you stand in the middle of hell and there is no hope for you. What a sh***y moment to be a crusader.
The saddest part is Inarius never gave a shit about them and was only using them, but I guess that's a pretty fitting end for these religious zealots
@godessworshipper4663 Guess heaven and hell has its similarities
@GodessWorshipper these guys never went to reddit /r/atheism...cringe... at this moment I am EUPHORIC, not due to any phony God's blessing, but because I am enlightened by my own intelligence... *tips fedora*

@Swordbreaker925 Thanks for the info! It was a generalization on my end, I admit, but no lore disrespect intended.

The first 2 mistake were more Incredible than anything I've ever seen
Who gives a fuck if he can't be accepted back into heaven, there should be NO reason he is that weak and just lets her kill him. Mind blowing weakness
Whoever came up with the design for Angels in Diablo was a genius. The armor, energy tendril wings and empty void where their head should be is an amazing look that is obviously angelic while remaining distinct from other depictions of angels.
Ironically, we see many catholics today using images from this design thinking its something actually biblical lol
@chinncannon ... Not for nothin' but that kinda seems like a primitive person's depiction of some kind of fuckin' alien.
@Kimera92 Show me.
@viktoriyaserebryakov2755their lying obviously lol .. who would use game designs as a depiction of biblical angels
Inarius literally could’ve soloed the entire demon army if he wanted but his emotions dragged him to hell.
True, I loved that Lilith knew that a hand to hand combat was impossible to win, so she first attacked his soul, his faith, and then finished him.
Amazing writing.

Weakness of being a simp.
@Charlie-tg1lq She used the Truth, so there was no "attack", just the Truth.
@PurpleCh4lk He wasn't a simp.

Diablo 2 & 3 also don’t disappoint
So smart and encouraging when your battle leader (Inarius) leaves the battle.
It wasn't really a big deal up until Inarius dies, they were kicking ass until they realize he died
true that! leads his army into the bottleneck and exposure for enemy battery... ppor choices
@imperialtrooper927 So he just left and got himself killed in the moment of weakness.
he seems retarded
I mean, it had been pointed out a few times that Inarius was kind of an idiot 😅
I like the depiction of his feet hovering over the ground for a few moments, as if the land itself is struggling to deny his power, his holy energy, only to crack and be made to heel--pun not intended.
Same. He broke Hell so that it may not reject his steps.
I also love how the demons cowered before him when he landed. They all knew that he could probably kill them all if he chose too
Hubris is the first stumble, before the fall of pride.
The land does no deny his power. It's the gravity and might of Inarius himself. He is like a moving sun with his own gravitional field.
Inarius is Lucifer, the father of humans. This series is telling an occult truth known by secret societies. Whether or not we believe in these beings, they control the destinies of all
2:39 Employee of the month
Bro got a little too excited 😂
He believes in the corporate mission statement
@ajlegend321 😭
This is by far the best cinematic I've ever seen in a game. First time I watched it while playing I got goosebumps.
Just saw it in my game. Same
I got fooled by how cinematic it is
It’s the best cinematic ever in a game imo.. and this is coming from a Warframe player lol
What's the game name
@immortality007 diablo 4
Man the amount of time and detail they put into these cutscenes, the way The light shows the guys nose in his helmet, the way inarius's light curls to fit the door when he enters. Just amazing
Edit: all I said was whoever made the Cutscene did a good job, leave it to the internet to start a fight about it🤣
Its generated mainly with ai lol…
@emmanuelgiry5125that’s just not true😭u know this is blizzard right? Go look at their cinematics.
@hardcrasher6470 Look at the ninja theory video. They use an iphone and capture real animation and can have it up and running in a matter of minutes now. What used to take mouths is now done in minutes.

So much aura farm just to struggle vs fodder demons and get impaled by a stick 😭
The music does all if you ask me, but in my imagination the things that should happen in these scenes are completely different and cool than this. This doesn't mean that it is not cool all even now!
@ataligom Describe your vision to me so I can see if it's really cooler than this.
The Knight legion is such badass, they could have destroyed the demons army if they didnt lose their morale. Too bad Inarius was so arrogant and went ahead of the battle.
He yoloed
He had to make a leroy jenkins reference smh
lol, no they couldn't have destroyed the demon army. the demons outnumbered them thousands to 1 and they're only men who will tire.
let me solo her
He said "Leeroy Jenkins!!!" 😂
What a strategist Lilith is. Leaving the battlefield because she knew Inarius' emotions would take over and that he would follow her wherever she went. Also like how you can see her just slightly open her palms right before Inarius stabbed her, cuz she knew this wouldn't be the end for her
His obsession
She had mind-controlling tongue, talking instances into her advantage to their relationship situation.
it's more like a bad and lazy script
@chrisredfield9310 ok, bro... would love to see what you come up with
His haterd.
Oh brooooo "silence is their judgement" is easily my favorite line in the whole franchise. Shit his so hard
I think the concept of a priest amassing and training an army to wage war in the depths of hell would make such an awesome movie!
Baldur Gates: siege of dragon spear. Not a priest but a paladin, close enough.
funnily enough alluded to in Diablo 2, though in corrupted form with the council members and the faithful Zakarumites.
Doom Dark Ages is going to be just that.
Consider reading up on an IP called "Trench Crusade". You might be interested.
When i was playing the game and came across all the dead knights, I thought "wow it would have been really cool if they showed us the battle" and then later this cinematic played, and it did not disappoint.
What game is this?
@henrymmoh9035 Diablo 4
Inarius’ wings at 0:50 look so fucking cool
20k reso wings
i have never even played the game, but christ almighty that was brutally beautiful. Last time I felt anything like this was the battle of helms deep in the cinema....
@worf7680 I didn't say emotionally moved... It was a specific feeling I got similar to back then. I cried last week to bambi
So called they, always know how to make cut scenes... amazing. Cheers...
@Gleebi knowing the story, it nearly makes me cry. Inarius and Lilith use to be lovers, and created humanity by procreating. Despite all that, Inarius is planning on murdering Lilith and all of humanity. You can see the grief on her face when she asks about their son.
Lilith: I've come to save my children!
Player Character: That's a lot of words coming from a loot bag
The music still gives me chills. This is one of the beat cinematics ever!
4:35 Bro.... the way she asks him about their son.
Because it was pride and vanity that led his crusade not justice.
Yep, he considers Sanctuary an abomination. Those soldiers were scammed.
Да,но с другой перспективы он просто хотел убить ее и покончить со всеми этим, даже тактически это правильно, хотя конечно твоя точка зрения так-же вероятна
@NicholasBlackstone-vn5hs And that is why the Heavens didn't listen.
still better then the abrahamic faiths...
As someone who just recently got into the Diablo franchise starting with Diablo 2 I couldn’t believe how good the cutscenes looked almost like a movie
Probably the best cutscene I've ever seen in a game, not surprised it hit 4m views in just days. It's an absolute belter
Exactly
@yanduro3434 Relax, snowflake. The demons get trashed in the end as well because, you as the player, gets the chance do it for the boss battle
Sigo sin entender como es como no sacan una pelicula animada de diablo, es que sus cinemáticas siempre son super épicas
Dude was too arrogant and declined as a result. It didn't help that being imprisoned for years weakened him severely.
Inarius literally had it all, and gave it up because of his fear and cowardice.
@t850terminatorfear and cowardice aren't how id describe it lmao, not by a Longshot
That’s all lilith was trying to do and she caught shit the entire game for it.
❤❤❤❤
Brutally bad writing, they basically reduced one of the most complex characters into a depressed alcoholic dad
I have no sympathy. The dude wants to buy his way into heaven by genociding humanity once he's done killing Lillith. Only part that made me uneasy was the part where, much like Imperius, we didn't get to slap the smug off his incorporeal face.
@tetsatou2815 good thing youre not the writer lol dumbass
1:40 the aura this woman has is off the charts
Imagine the fuckin morale boost you'd get being in the front rank, seeing someone so wholly confident and faithful in you and your fellows that she will stand several feet in front of your line and actively pray as if nothing can touch her.
I think they are called Zealots!
When you are absolutely certain you will never lose. It does hit a bit different
@nicholasbrown668 and barefoot.
Inarius cried for help when his wings are torn while Tyrael torn his own wings in silence.
Good point. I swear I sometimes hear Tyrael's voice in D4 (probably the same voice actor)
And yet for some reason getting inarius' wings torn kills him? Also why is he a total idiot?
She burnt her feet because she trusted you Inarius!
Smart person
you can trust a person and still wear shoes.. just sayin'
@silverblueshadow Maybe the shoes and socks were burnt off by then.
a pretty good metaphor tbh
Hola Cómo se llama la película
*Imperius looking at the other Archangels*
''See, i told u he was a fool''
This 10 minutes are better than the whole fast and furious franchise
"Heavens, protect me!" the despair and hopelessness in the voice are astonishing
It would've been so cool that for a moment the Heavens responded, not to save him, but to give him an assistance to not let him die like that.
@unreasonableJameson No assistance becouse he made a choice, he belong in hell like she said 😅
He got perma-banned with no possibility to appeal. Any risk he took after that, was on him. In the end, he was desperate and somewhat delusional.
@unreasonableJameson On the other hand, if we were be going for lore-accurate High Heavens it'd be more like this:
"Lol"
"Lmao"
Just finished this cinematic while playing the game, unbelievable. Will we ever see a Diablo movie? Dreams...
"Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall," Proverbs 16:18
@Fuerto203it's not canon. Angels and demons don't get power from human's faith in Diablo universe. Humans are just fodder
@Fuerto203 id argue there was no boon because his adherents worshipped him, an angle estranged from real faith. I mean look at what they did to Vigo that poor guy didn't deserve that, they were almost as evil as Lilith in my opinion.
Meanwhile us Diablo peasants annihilate endless hordes with ease
It's clear to see that Inarius is a very skilled and experienced warrior but let's his blind devotion to the high heavens get in the way of what really matters. He allows that flaw to get the best of him which leads to his army losing hope upon his death.
he's a tyrant fallen angel he's actually worse than demon.
Absolutely love the part of Inarius suppressing the demons with his aura alone at 2:17
The way he just landed amongst all of them and just scanned around and they looked at him was badass. You could tell all the demons were like “ok, so who’s gonna be crazy enough to fight him first??”
This is the single greatest piece of CGI cinematography I have ever seen.
The way Inarius' hand was shaking after he stabbed Lilith kinda shows that he still loved her in the end amd that he shows some remorse, but in the end he was driven by his pride and desire to return to the Heavens where he felt he belonged
I didnt see it his hand tremble, but that would have been a great addition to highlight.
I need this to be a series … wtf this is amazing
The way the knights actually use tactics and teamwork before their (Totally understandable) rout really impressed me- it would have been all too easy for Blizzard to make them mere cannon fodder.
This cutscene is absolutelly amazing! such a great job on so many levels
This is how my paladin be moving
2:28 The cockroaches when I shine a flashlight under the sink
This scene never stops being freaking amazing, even as it's so sad--Inarius was so full of his dumb self that he condemned so many people to death for what turned out to be nothing.
Thats the amazing thing for me. No matter how many people you sacrifice, it wont give you a place in heaven but rather in hell when you are so selfish to use others as pawns. Truly amazing script (the game itself is debatable atm)
serious question - why can't movies be this good :( this is so grand and awe-inspiring I want movies to be this level of sublime!!!
Never turn your back on your enemy. So much for being a soldier
I turned my back on my enemy once, I got fucked in the ass
Ive said this hundred times, why did he jab her in the stomach when he clearly said pierce the heart?
@rankyb8088 hrs dumb
Because blizzard doesn't value its writing anymore. Inarius has always been CLEVER in canon. But apparently he has to be an idiot so that their big strong independent woman can win.
@richardashendale922 true
I’ve never played these games but this looks amazing
Cinematics from Blizzard always look amazing. Games themselfs, not so much.
Get ready to be bored. The cinematic always drag you in. 30 minutes after clicking the mouse a 1000 times you'll regret wasting the money
agreed👍🏻 made Diablo a movie will make more fortune haha
Diablo is the game you want to play if you just want to turn your brain off for a few hours and mindlessly hack n slash the entire time
@Raven777777777777777 Great point.
The direction is absolutely amazing… felt like I was watching a full movie! 👏🔥
Shields Wall on a straight path could have been an easy fight, but Inarius tried to be clever ?
Fanatics always get themselves killed the most stupid way.
@SAXONandDANI and also the scariest thing... like give them a proper plan and you would have a fanatic that would not surrender
To be fair if she died like he planned he woulda just came back out and whooped ass some more, but she played dead and gave him a crisis of faith.
I was playing Diablo4 and had no idea this was going to happen. I lost it seeing how great it was the first time I saw it.
No matter what game blizzard makes, their cinematic team is the best in the world. These people are amazing
cough warcraft 3 reforge cough
@inuart19 lol fair enough
@wowdhaewow8901 no, don't let some nobody try to trivialize brilliance..one thing doesn't negate the other, what you said to begin with, stands.
The whips of light was incredible, badass moment
This cutscene is like everything kids wanted to see on RUclips in 2009. It’s unreal how badass this is.
I really love the attention to detail. The CG looks exactly as it should based off the ingame artstyle.
But no matter how devout you are. Melting feet hurt.
Whoever makes these short movies deserves an oscar
I will always watch this when the algorithm puts it in front of my face.
@brennanlangless8912
Believe it or not, Spartans did not fight in this manner.
Blizzard always knows how to do epic cinematics ❤
I honestly think this is the best cinematic Blizzard has ever made, and for me, it’s the most enduring thing from Diablo 4.
Gosh that choir from the opening scene
It's so scary to listen to yet it makes you want to hear it on repeat
I wish I would have.
Because you and I want to do the same thing badly.
Whoever is doing the editing, visuals, graphics and the story telling u guys are good ..... u can jus feel the game u knw wat i mean i love this
This game is amazing..currently 255 spiritborn and still enjoying the grind
When the priestess or whatever climbed on top of that giant demon I bet her feet felt better
Her?? I thought it was a gay dude
@perrybb2No a woman who gave a worldy desires.
Clearly a woman @perrybb2
Everything about this was damn impressive. You could really feel how much lillith cared for him
What a cinematic!
*everyone* *wishes* *if* *only* *we* *could* *get* *a* *movie* *like* *this*
I havent heard that song since the odst live action, and it hit just as hard now as id did then
I loved Inarius expressions through out the video.
He really sells the performance with how emotive he is.
I have no idea how I ended up in this game, video whatever it is, but dude this video was absolutely brilliant!!!
I'm really really stunned how this is not a actual movie..
Epic game with epic cutscenes, love every micro second i spend playing it and have since launch!
One of these days they need an alternate ending where you can summon the Doom slayer and the end credits is just him going on a mad rampage.
If I hadn't read the channel's name, I would have really thought this was a movie
That bell sound from Inarius is an earworm
She sure did get into his mind, made him have doubts about everything he did, a well place doubt will make you question everything
@singularityphoenix0369 What? she got into his mind, he thought he killed her and let his guard down, turn his back on her and got wasted
remember they had a thing going on once😏
user-uk8jr2bp4f don't take every so serious, it's a clip from a video game, non of this happen in real life
user-uk8jr2bp4f 😁
@willie417man stfu with your dogshit mindset
Very impressive range on those spear thrusts tho.
Pikes. They are usually 2-3 meters long, with some even up to 6 meters.
@Tyrant_8053🎉🎉🎉
I love the change of pace from the battle inarius look powerful and mighty to week and vulnerable where lilith led him, its a masterpiece to watch
i live for this game! it was amazing. i took one day to complete it all.
I don't know for sure what's happening here, but that priestess is an icon of a fanatism for me now.
Get blacked
Это первая жена Адама, Лилит.
Стала демоницей по своему выбору.
Аки Сатана.
Her end made me shudder... like when I was a kid watching that ending to the movie Devil's Playground...
Im a gamer, and this has to be one of the absolute greatest cinematics ive ever seen! Holy wow!
Hell is scattered, no Primes, no Lessers, they fight rag-tag militia of Lilith.
They would win if inarius did the job right
They have powers just like our hero. But they lost their power after their faith shattered.
They said it multiple times, Hell's biggest enemy is themselves for not being uniting. Hell would have destroyed Heaven and Angels long ago if it wasnt for them being such backstabbers all the time
1:45 has to be the most epic shit I have seen in a video game in the last 10 years.
Or more.
偉大な存在でありながらどこか心の弱さ、小さめな人間性が覗くイナリウスすき
What must have gone through their minds during the first few seconds when his angelic light went dark. The shear terror!
2:42 straight doom slayer vibes. imagine if they made movies and shows like this 🥶🥶
The song is the beginning is so beautiful, this is so much better then any 100 million movie tbh
One of the best scenes in video game history!
Just wished they would make a movie like this …. its soo good
What movie is this?
Can we get a 3 hr live version of this please!!
This should be a movie. God damn. Epic!
Mejor que muchas películas de hoy en día
Diablo came a long way ,i remember playing it on ps1 back in the day
oh wow, Kerrigan is looking absolutely amazing as the Queen of Blades! Tho, the zerg have definitely taken on a different appearance....
@ilovecracklins6397 seems like blizzard is just re-telling starcraft through diablo but with a darker tone
I hate it when the villain is right about everything, because killing Lilith means nothing because someone else is much worse than her and that someone is going to finish off humanity once and for all
She wasn’t a saint.
