I love the first two kills, in that it shows how the dragon knows its strength. Thus, it doesnt waste energy with a wind up slash, or a breath of fire.

I actually like the design of the dragon! Clearly Reptilian, yet oddly mammalian with the body of a cat and goat-eyes. Not to mention the almost Gill-like flaring scales on the neck! so much attention to details in a, lets be honest, B-movie flick! An the way she breathes fire is just *chefs kiss*

I love how her scales on her neck move as she breathes , how she is chimeric in nature, with various animals, and how she is incredibly agile and cunning, not some big, blundering beast like most studios make

I know it’s generally only turbo nerds like me who even notice or care about the specifics of mythical biology/morphology but I do appreciate it when it lines up with what I expect.
I also use that term “what I expect” instead of what’s accurate because, dragons are different culture to culture and there’s no real set in stone global definition for “dragon”.

to anyone saying the dragon design is 'Bad' or 'stupid' let me point something out to you:
according to the film's creators, she was supposed to look reminiscent of feline, like a panther in a sense, indicative of the slim body, the cunning, and the way she moves in bursts and agility, as well as the way she stalks and ambushes, and even toys with her prey. She is supposed to look a bit thin, her snout is supposed to look a bit 'off' it's all part of the plan. Dragons don't have to look like one specific type of dragon to be a dragon.
So, Kindly remove your heads from your rectums, clean the shit from your eyes and ears, and pay attention. XD

She would be more scarier if she had a design more like vermithrax and had cate blanchett voice then she be more of a villain

Loved this movie. I’m not even entirely opposed to the mother joining Elodi, but it was way to rushed from my perspective, if/when the movies gets a sequel I sincerely hope that some time gets set aside for the movie to at least adress the characters having dealt with their trauma if not actively dealing with it. Elodi alone listened to how father die a very painful death before actually seeing him die. Never mind the trauma that would come about to how she ended up in the situation in the first place.

I love the ending. I know it was super rushed but I just love the fact that the dragon, who brought fertility and life to the kingdom, has now destroyed it and is going with the family to their desolate winter plains, that she will likely revitalise and make fertile just like her island home once was.

I’m guessing she had a mate. If she did parthenogenesis, then she could’ve just done it again, but she believed her fate was to die alone so I’m guessing mates don’t stick together or the male died somehow.

This wyvern is modeled really well. Love this take on their form and function. Way better than the vast majority of dragon/wyvern depictions in media. Only other one that is comparable and immediately comes to mind is Smaug.

She was done by the guy that did the monsters for Underworld.
Her snout looks very feline, giving her a manticore look.
