Finally, a dark souls 3 miracle truther, their only problem is that you don't start the game with any damaging miracles, and I wish the lightning spear and variants were better at long ranges, although the ridiculous close range damage is cool
Now I want to replay ds3 with my dex-faith build again. It was one of the most fun playthroughs I've ever done with how stylish and powerful lightning arrow is. Not to forget that lightning stake just FEELS so powerful too, like you're smiting your foes with a lightning bolt straight from your fists! Only problem is that it takes like half the game for the build to even come online...and the star of the show only comes in for the dlc
That's my main problem with ds3 miracles, most of the game you have shit for variety because tier 2 lightning spear is a covenant item which means it's barely viable to have a miracle build unless you're leveling faith in mid to endgame to use miracles as accessories to supplement your toolkit, plus the big cheese machines. At least lightning stake exists
Little correction for the dark souls 2 section. You do have a miracle boosting ring in the game, that being the sun seal which is the starter rank reward for joinng the heirs of the sun covenant found in earthen peak. Cheers.
You are correct but it is worth saying here that the sun seal ring is a fair bit worse than the ring options in other games. It gives a pretty mediocre 5% boost compared to the 20% ring in ds1 and the two stacking 12% and 20% rings in ds3. I guess its a little more comparable to the elden ring talismans though still worse.

You shouldn't need to stand point blank range to get the full damage of the long range spell Lightning Spear! DS2 low casts is helped by all the consumables that refill them. Favorite miracle run.
The reason people rage at DS3 miracle builds is that the offensive miracles are all found in the late game. This makes it particularly unviable in PvP, which is where the complaint originates. Since they're spells, unlike weapons and armor, you can't even drop it for your friends during co-op.
You only have to kill 1 boss to get lightning spear and 2 to get lightning stake. Which is very similar to dark souls 1 and 2. But yeah it does suck that none of the games start you out with a damaging miracle through a starting class

While I mostly agree with your ranking I would say that FP feels much better then limited spell casts (to me personally atleast)
@spaceman10th31it's not even grammar though, just using the words according to what they mean. Ignorance is alluring, but you can't just use words interchangeably because they look a little similar from a glance
DS3 is a wild pick for first place, there is one good viable miracle offensive spell until the end of the game, it’s the only build that is hard mode until basically ng+ or the very end game, and until then unless you want a harder time than everyone else by far your one option is Lightning Stake, but at least lightning is a great damage type like always and works out eventually. Elden Ring beats it in essentially every way when lightning spells are considered miracles with the majority ranging from acceptable, to good and downright devastating, and with multiple key staples being available extremely early. Still loved the video though!
Elden Ring feels the lowest for me, simply cause incantations have a horrible balance there. No matter what spell you use, and what build you try (pure faith or a quality paladin) the literal starting incantation for the prophet class (catch flame) will outdamage every single one of them if we only regard DPS. I enjoyed the huge variety of spectacular lightning strikes and firebombs we got, but spamming the "weakest" incantation will almost always be more beneficial if we take away the fun factor. Pest' threads is probably the only incantation in the whole game that can match Catch flame in cheesiness. And sadly same applies to sorceries, the starting glintstone shard will almost always outdamage bigger lategame spells thanks to its spammy nature. You can hide from invaders in offline and it effects black phantoms being able to see you. It’s how you can get a beast talisman early. Hidden body, poison mist bp scirvir, hide behind a wall, reap rewards as he stands there until he dies
DS3 definitely made miracles feel the best. Poise casting a Lightning Stake and deleting everything will never not be fun. There's a reason the "FTH is just yellow STR" meme started.
What the fuck is this guy smoking? No ring in DS2 that boost miracles, the sun seal gives a 5% damage boost to all of them and the lightning clutch ring boosts everything that does lightning damage including miracles. Then he puts Elden ring below DS3 which literally spawned the "Thou shalt not do damage" meme for how bad the damage output of them was.
In Dark Souls 3 I say my favorite miracles are Projected Heal and Sacred Oath. I've saved so many of my friends and coop buddies during boss fights and invasions. We've had so many adventures that were so much more fun because of this miracle and Sacred Oath. And yes I prefer Sacred Oath over the one in Elden Ring. Somehow it was better here and also the name is badass for a miracle. I've themed my Discord server around this miracle.
Honestly DS3 miracles are weird in the sense that if someone put them in the last place it would make sense, and if someone put them in 1st place it would make sense,. Like idk how to balance the early game slog with the late game or NG+ power. Like using just lighning spears against the early bosses can be quite boring. But when the Miracle machine gets going. Oof there is no end in sight.
Real, it feels awful having basically no fun miracles until ash lake...but man do lightning stake, lightning arrow and lifehunt scythes hit so hard. The awesome endgame really makes up for the crappy early game.
A necessary correction about damage negation spells: it isn't that DS only had magic negation spell while ER added the new ones, it is that DSs had magic barrier and great magic barrier, both of which effectively decreased all elemental damage taken, while ER split them into a bunch of separate incants
As a DS2 fan, it really is a shame how hard Lightning Spear got nerfed. Though I especially love how much caster support gets in DS2 compared to the future games. I'm not a huge fan of buff stacking for damage. In Elden Ring, I'd trade all the damage stacking talismans for some much needed improved catalyst gameplay. There is the Sunlight and Lightning Clutch Rings that buff Miracle damage. Bright Bugs as well.
As far as PvP goes, Elden ring miracles are fucking devolved. Rock sling, catch flame, erdtree heal, radagon’s rings, honed bolt, and buffs, all on one build. Faith zoners who know what they’re doing are truly the sandpaper dildo of Elden Ring.
As a pure Faith main in every game since 2010, my only gripe with Dark Souls 3 was the progression and pacing of faith builds were absolutely terrible. Early levels during vanilla release had me relying on a raw infused Astoria straight sword and dark blade. Except getting dark blade (which can happen early on) is convoluted. You can't even get faith scaling weapons until you get your first blessed gem at the cathedral and blessed scaling sucks. Actual worthwhile offensive miracles are locked behind the mid to late game, leaving you jaded AF with your dinky lightning spear and blessed mace, fire weapon or dark are. Dark Souls 2 perfected faith build progression including access to powerful miracles early on, while linking attunement to casting speed. That game did miracles best.
Totally agree. This is my problem with DS3. Every time I want to start a new character with a fun build, I get reminded that I probably have to beat half the game to actually start using said build. I always end up starting as a Knight with sword and board, and then respec to my desired build when I only have a couple of lords of cinder left. Miracles and Dark builds are the most affected by this linear progression.
First, I haven played DS3 since the earlier patches so I don't know if they buffed Miracles. But just after the DLCs came out, most were quite bad. The main problem with DS3 miracles comes from the FP cost. The damage to FP cost ratio of miracles is the worst among all spell types. It wouldn't be much of a problem if there were other ways to recover FP outside of ashen estus. But as is, FP greatly limits your Miracle spellcasting against gauntlets of enemies and beefy bosses. Specially in NG+ onward. Also, while poise casting is good it also aggravates the cost problem of Miracles. Finally, good damaging Miracles are few and far between until the late game.
Agree with the list and I do love ds3 more than elden ring but it definitely doesn't have as powerful miracles in early game as elden ring incantations are. Only after getting Lightning Stake does your faith build actually become any good.
Dark souls 2 hands down. That's when you could actually 1 shot with 1 miracle. Sunlight bolt fucking smelted life bars. It was so strong it got nerfed twice. Proof is in the patch notes, bois. I loved that game. I will always love that game the most in regards to pvp variety.
Lightning stake really tiggled my limbic cortex I can't believe the didn't bring it back in Elden Ring the floating in the air you did in that game just didn't have you same oomph
Maybe A damn shame they gave us no upgrades to lighting spear. No ancient dragon version, no golden order version, no sunlight spears, just the base version on its own.
dorthys gwaning/gnaw also looks/sounds so much cooler then its elden ring counter part (which also was nerfed). i liked doing a sorcerer build in ds3 but for me it felt almost the same as elden rings or worse but i love my faith run right now so much, i love also that christian goth tortur vibe u getting with some of the miracles.
Hey, new to the genre. Finished elden ring recently and got 100% competition. Jumped straight into Lies of P and finished it in a few days. Looking for a new game now. Shall I go for ds1 or ds3?
naaaah, this is absolutely delusional. sure lightning arrow was amazing, but stunlocking malenia with fireballs, cheesing anything big with pest threads, sniping stuff with discs of light etc... there are so many spells you sometimes wish you had even more slots. for the first time you can actually play as a pure caster and not feel like you're gimping yourself. it's actually amazing, varied and a lot of fun. in dark souls 3 i was almost always relying on my straight sword, with lightning arrow being used pretty sparingly (unless we're talking pvp of course).
Elden ring is Top1 mainly because of how cool and varied they are, easy to get, easy to level for them, so many buffs etc..., no idea why ds3 should be that high, DS2 had better miracles. Especially considering that most damaging ds3 miracles are so late into the game so it leaves a bad imporession.
I strongly disagree because I haven’t played miracles in DS3 so they must be bad. And you haven’t mentioned the strongest ER miracle either, DLC in February! It’ll happen guys!
personally elden ring has the most flashy miracles of the bunch but most are only okay damage wise while dark souls 3 has the best overall even if most of them are late game or locked behind dlc
While Des has the worst miracles, they are overall underrated. Regeneration negates the poison in 5-2, and miracles negates the valley of defilement overall.
Why does 192 damage to darklurker take away 1/6 of his hp, the boss has 5200 something health according to wiki, which ia true since i have beaten it many times before. What is going on here
Ds2 only shows the last damage dealt to the boss in the hp bar, so when an attack does damage multiple times, like most lightning miracles, it shows only a fraction of damage dealt
Miracles in ds3 def dont get enough credit but there borderline un viable until lightning stake unless the only stat you level is faith and even then i doubt it would be worth running
Dark Souls 2 put the power in your fingertips with miracles at the appropriate limitation. Every other instance of it, it felt like a "you participated trophy" and a head pat for trying the demo.
the gimped casts in ds2 all came because of horrible balance patch decisions from having 20 lighting spears at base att in vanilla ds2 to only 3 in sotfs was just bad
The thing about Blessed weapon buff in DS3 is that it boosts your damage by %20 whereas DMB and Lightning blade give a flate AR increase. So DMB and Lightning blade best on Faster weapons so you can rapidly proc that magic/lightning damage. But with blessed weapons even big slow weapons get benefits since the more physical damage it inherently does the more it gains from the buff. It also had a really low FTH requirement so it's great for other non-faith builds
Spell combos in dark souls 2 were the best. Blinding Bolt with full charged sunlight spears got me so much hate mail. All those cucks mad cause i dont need a weapon to show you how much more you need to git gud!😂😂 If i won the powerball, I'd give a million or 5 million to go back and relive those times.
I just started dark souls 3. Faith sucks!!! wtf I’m 12 hours in, just got to farron ruins, and still only have heal, replenish, and cleanse. Does it get better? Or should I respec cuz as a cleric I’m basically a Strength character.
Savewizard(basically cheat engine but on playstation 4, only works on ps4 games, any game that only have ps5 version doesn't work) can just make covenant item farming obsolete in DS3(do not use this for online as you might get banned) You must have at least 1 in your inventory or storage and just use savewizard to give the max amount that inventory/storage allows You can also give yourself any weapon at the beginning of the game by replacing your starting weapon(this also works with spells and casting weapons)
Okay, you _cannot_ compare miracles to incantations, incantations are too op to compare to miracles lol My faith character in elden ring was basically an archimage, so obviously 1st right? Edit: WHAT??? ER not 1st pla- oh, you're not counting all incantations, that's fair.

@@samthepigman4069 the fact I need to trade healing, and taking more damage to actually do damage. Against Lothric I hated it . Elden ring at least allows you to have constant healing with starlight shards

Pre-1.02 patch DS1 Sunlight Spear. That mf was CRUSHING. Also, Darkmoon Blade.
Best souls RUclipsr!! 🙏🏼
There is a ring that boosts miracles in DSII. The Sunbro ring.
Finally, good damaging Miracles are few and far between until the late game.
a ranking of the dual casting builds possibly???
I cannot address how much dedication you have for these games, amazing, mad respects and, dark souls's 3 miracles suck
Vanilla ds2 on launch was the most fun I ever had with miracles. So busted
I was ashamed that i farmed the knights for those sourvenirs of reprisal. But once i had DMB on a straight sword...no regerts
pointblank sunlight spear in pvp was the funniest thing in the series
Lightning stake really tiggled my limbic cortex I can't believe the didn't bring it back in Elden Ring the floating in the air you did in that game just didn't have you same oomph
I have a feeling radagons incantations and many other previous souls incantations will be in elden ring DLC
Maybe
A damn shame they gave us no upgrades to lighting spear. No ancient dragon version, no golden order version, no sunlight spears, just the base version on its own.
I wish you'd been right...
dorthys gwaning/gnaw also looks/sounds so much cooler then its elden ring counter part (which also was nerfed). i liked doing a sorcerer build in ds3 but for me it felt almost the same as elden rings or worse but i love my faith run right now so much, i love also that christian goth tortur vibe u getting with some of the miracles.
Hey, new to the genre. Finished elden ring recently and got 100% competition. Jumped straight into Lies of P and finished it in a few days. Looking for a new game now. Shall I go for ds1 or ds3?
Ds1 will probably feel dated after playing ER but DS3 would be a nice pick
dark souls 3 my beloved
6:27 Doesnt the Warrior of Sunlight covenant ring from DS2 boost miracles by 5% IIRC?
naaaah, this is absolutely delusional.
sure lightning arrow was amazing, but stunlocking malenia with fireballs, cheesing anything big with pest threads, sniping stuff with discs of light etc...
there are so many spells you sometimes wish you had even more slots. for the first time you can actually play as a pure caster and not feel like you're gimping yourself.
it's actually amazing, varied and a lot of fun.
in dark souls 3 i was almost always relying on my straight sword, with lightning arrow being used pretty sparingly (unless we're talking pvp of course).
Elden Ring Builds would commit Warcrimes to have access to Cursed Weapon from Demon's Souls
I bet elden rings DLC is gunna be huge for faith builds.
Hard coping my guy! Play DS3, it's the BEST!
@@Blittsplitt5 Oh, I have played DS3 and love it, no worries but only strength and quality so far.
personally elden ring has the most flashy miracles of the bunch but most are only okay damage wise while dark souls 3 has the best overall even if most of them are late game or locked behind dlc
Because ds2 sucks
Law of regression is the single most disgustingy op spell in pvp
Elden Ring and ds3. Two masterpieces and winners, as expected
Miracles in ds3 def dont get enough credit but there borderline un viable until lightning stake unless the only stat you level is faith and even then i doubt it would be worth running
I miss Divine Pillars of Light
Bro Ds1 Miracles are the same as DS2 and DS3 but with more damage, with more enemies weak against just nuts.
Faith gang WYA????
Dark Souls 2 put the power in your fingertips with miracles at the appropriate limitation. Every other instance of it, it felt like a "you participated trophy" and a head pat for trying the demo.
Lol sure
Any weird reason to make ds2 sound good
@@Blittsplitt5 reddit is down the hall, and to the left.
@@Blittsplitt5 Oh no DS2 did alot of things best, i need to start crying now!
the gimped casts in ds2 all came because of horrible balance patch decisions
from having 20 lighting spears at base att in vanilla ds2 to only 3 in sotfs was just bad
Elden ring turned pyromancy into miracles
Sorceries has to go to Dark souls 2. You could step up and start blasting NG+ bosses off the map with a few spells… and IT HAS SWORD CATALYST. Done .
6:52 respectively*
Spell combos in dark souls 2 were the best. Blinding Bolt with full charged sunlight spears got me so much hate mail. All those cucks mad cause i dont need a weapon to show you how much more you need to git gud!😂😂 If i won the powerball, I'd give a million or 5 million to go back and relive those times.
I just started dark souls 3. Faith sucks!!! wtf I’m 12 hours in, just got to farron ruins, and still only have heal, replenish, and cleanse. Does it get better? Or should I respec cuz as a cleric I’m basically a Strength character.
Nvm I got to #1 in the video
Savewizard(basically cheat engine but on playstation 4, only works on ps4 games, any game that only have ps5 version doesn't work) can just make covenant item farming obsolete in DS3(do not use this for online as you might get banned)
You must have at least 1 in your inventory or storage and just use savewizard to give the max amount that inventory/storage allows
You can also give yourself any weapon at the beginning of the game by replacing your starting weapon(this also works with spells and casting weapons)
why black blade is a must have incantation in new game +
%HP damage
Same as why Black Flame is superior in NG+ is the percentage damage.
Ok good
DS2 miracles pre nerf was the best. Then they ruined it.
Okay, you _cannot_ compare miracles to incantations, incantations are too op to compare to miracles lol
My faith character in elden ring was basically an archimage, so obviously 1st right?
Edit: WHAT??? ER not 1st pla- oh, you're not counting all incantations, that's fair.
Shout outs to Antimagic from Demon’s Souls cause it made those stupid mindflayers into impotent punching bags, which they deserve.
>lightning is the best er damage type
Not answer I expected to hear
Wrong. The best part about miracles is that they are not sorcery.
Modern miracles are trash honestly.
*siiip*
The Immaculate Conception? Now that was a proper miracle, let me tell you.
11:18 Boy did this age well (even if the DLC as a whole is unpolished dogshit)?
dark souls 3 is the best.
Nah any magic in DS three sucks that game is just meant for R1 spamming.
I hate using magic in that game
Ds2 and Elden ring are number one or number two . Elden ring obviously being number one.
Agreed.
You must not have seen him 3 shot champion gundyr, one of the later game bosses with miracles. The magic in this game is not bad, far from it. Sorceries, miracles, and pyromancies are all extremely viable, I don't know where this myth came from that ds3 magic sucks but it's just as good as the other games.
@@samthepigman4069 the fact I need to trade healing, and taking more damage to actually do damage.
Against Lothric I hated it .
Elden ring at least allows you to have constant healing with starlight shards
@aresrivera9744 I really hate to say this but have you tried...not needing to use 15 estus? Just a thought
@@samthepigman4069 uhhh no. Ds3 mandates it sometimes.
I never like how that mechanic was introduced but it was perfected in Elden ring

Really? DS3? That sounds like some major coping, yeah yeah, if you buff the shit out of yourself they do good damage, in meele range, at late game... Or you can just pick up a fucking sword and finish the game fp free, you know, since you have to be on meele range anyway for them to be anything besides a massage. And most the good stuff is locked late game and the early game optiosn are mostly atrocious. Literaly the worse lightining spear in the franchise, even compared to ds2 that was nerfed to the ground.
Dumbass take from someone who doesn’t know how to optimise builds. But yeah I guess if were to ignore every positive ds3 miracles get then yeah they suck
i figured ds3 would be at or near the top. poise casting is so good, wished you could in elden ring. but a weapon with endure and a finger seal work well enough for me.
Rank Guts GreatSword from each SoulBormes
