So last night i stumbled upon Tallah. i was instantly hooked and fell in love. about an hour later i realize this is the dude ive been watching do vocal covers since like Chester Bennington passed. absolutely mind blown lol.
just came back to say jan 28th 2018 i subbed to lights, and covers. about 6 months after i figured but i am 100% sure linkin park cover is what started it

Justin is my favourite metal vocalist of all time. Been following him and his channel for years. I spent 3 years carefully and attentively learning how to scream, growl, vocal fry and all that good stuff along with damage prevention. If you want to learn how to do all these things, watch Justin, if you do not, you're doing it wrong already.

This is solid. I’ve been trying to master this technique for a while. I’m familiar with placing the tip of the tongue on top of my bottom row of teeth for singing, I’ve never tried it with a scream though. Nailed it first try.

jesus christ.. i was big into the metal scene growing up and in high school back in like 2009-2012 but kinda fell out of following new bands and constantly searching and broadening my horizons on the genre. i started listening to more rap and country and older stuff i liked as a kid like Slipknot and System of a Down, ya know, still jamming some classics but i wasn’t actively engaging in the genre, and i feel like i missed out and also i feel like a douche because i didn’t realize it at the time, but i was definitely following a trend, because a lot of the bands that were HUGE during that time, really started struggling to maintain the same numbers they were doing once upon a time, and my generation, a lot of us at least, let that happen. with that being said, i am more stoked than ever to be finding new and interesting bands and i must say, the evolution of Screaming and vocals in general has came a loooong way since then. i mean, dude, i’m blown away. i didn’t even know a human could make some of these noises. and the strength and volume of your voice in crazy. your pitch and depth and volume do not wavier at all. so damn clean man. really looking forward to diving into your catalog. thanks!

I need to start at the basics. Like how to scream the right way and not hurt myself. I have the zen in the art of screaming video which helps but it hasnt really clicked yet
Ive been studying how to scream for years noe but i cant practice bc of my mom. (Not bc she said its too loud or anything, she has cancer and is sick constantly and doing that would just make her more miserable, hearin me scream offf the top of the lungs while shes stuck in bed with a migrane and horribly sick.) So im waiting until i get my own house to start. I plan on doing covers in the future, along with trying to make my own music. Ive been writing lyrics since i was 6.
Also dude those highs are incredible. Wow I literally have bad vocal days which makes me nervous to try out for a band..... What are some tricks you use to kind of even out your throat to ready it for the most demonic vocals possible??
I looked this up after a Star Wars lore short explaining Force Scream, I think its the most realistic Force ability Lucas thought of like genuinely at night your with a huge machete and you charge fast at someone; would they react or would they stand still and be so caught off-guard? Obviously "the Force" isnt real, but it caught my train of thought if this is realistic or not?
