It's not easy as a Linux switcher. Sorting through many different Linux distros as an offer... phew, that's not easy. I've been using Linux for over 20 years and today it's about which distro I would choose if I switched again today.

I started with Mandrake in 1998, switched to Feroda in 2004 and I never tried another distro for 20 years. I am pretty happy with Fedora.

Opensuse Tumbleweed is a great beginner distro. Change my mind.

At the end of the day, everybody is different and Linux allows everyone to be different and have the perfect environment that best suits them. There's no "universal answer". Only the universal operating system (Debian). However, Fedora, Mint, etc., are still well worth a look for new users IMO. One should learn a bit about Linux before going to Debian to understand more of the choices available to them.
