@@Wells306 Exactly. And I think you can catch a glimpse of this Gretsch in the time period before it was donated to Malcolm. Malcolm's brother George has it slung over his shoulder while he runs over to play the piano in the live version of the Easybeat's song "Good Times," it's seen at: 1:57, 2:02, 2:06, and 2:11 (longest glimpse of it), it's too bad they only show close-ups of Harry Vanda's guitar, but not of George playing this one. That would have been a priceless view. It got some use in the Easybeats before it became famous in Malcolm's hands. Love Stevie Wright's singing in this-a great frontman.

I love mine.. so many tones in there.. not all pleasing mind you.. middle pup is always on.. blend it in or turn it off.. bridge alone sounds like what we expect.. but the PAF was thick and warm in the middle as one might expect.. very well made.. Terada does a great job.. so much fun playing around with tones in this one.. not a fan of the typical tone switch and I prefer to keep that in the middle (off)... But what a tribute to the best .. !!!..nice job on this guitar Gretsch..!!.. bishop hat next??

Please when you release a Malcolm Young model, everyone would love to see if it can actually sounds like Malcolm's guitar. With a guitarist who at least tries to play a bit in Malcolm's style... This video or the Scott Ian one don't say ANYTHING to me about the guitar... If I want a real replica of Malcolm's beast I still don't know if I should buy this one, the salute jet, or any at all...

I have the same, love it, but I really want to know what "number of limitet pieces" they are.
Someone gave me the info that they sell only 60 pieces in europe.
Do you know anything about it?

Not bad.. not sure where the heft is coming from, but those pickups are the truth.. but the price tag ain't. No working musician can afford that. Mind boggling that they do this shit. At least with EVH he made a guitar with a price point that EVERYONE could afford of they wanted one, and the Wolfgang pickups were put in every model.

Gretsch Corp continue to do weird things with Malcolm. While he was alive, and by far the most famous man ever to play a Gretsch, the company almost completely ignored him. Now he's dead Gretsch intro new models using his name that are not remotely similar to Malcolms. This alleged signature model has nothing in common with Malcolm's, except for the double cutaway. Gretsch Corp will only be fooling the unknowledgable while the rest of us laugh at them. The Young family should be very angry imo for bringing the mans name into disrepute.

Do you know that it is the exact replica of Malcolm's Jet ? Before he stripped the finish down, it was exactly like that. He added the middle humbucker, changed the bridge etc. This model is like a time capsule that brings us back to 1975-76.
      Well done Gretsch !
