    Why did I expect Michael to play "Baby's in Black" when he announced he was going to demonstrate the Bigsby arm while playing Beatles tunes? Oh yeah, that's a specific instance in which George used it on record.
    Before I learned about different makes and models, I think my image of the electric guitar was based around this model, the Country Gentleman. I can almost remember being a little thrown when I saw pictures of footage of George holding the Tennessean.

    It's expensive, but there is really nothing like the sounds that come from a Country Gent. I prefer it through a VOX AC30 with Celestion blues, a close second is a deluxe reverb with the same Clestion. Is it more versatile than a Strat or LP? Probably not, but then again, neither are Rickenbackers.

    George used a capo on 5th or 7th fret. Try it, it’s more authentic…also, it’s a Em7 after the D - not a G.

    • @OldBethelite
      @OldBethelite 11 месяцев назад

      @@nickg2431 Dear friend, I’d love to follow your suggestion. But, two problems: 1) I’m 71 yrs. old and arthritis has claimed victory over my fingers (one of the saddest things that can happen after playing since 1961), hence no video post. 2) Since my comment was made nearly a half year ago, perhaps you could refresh me as to what tune I was talking about, then maybe I could offer you a more detailed explanation via text. Take care and savor your playing while you can. Jeff H.

    • @OldBethelite
      @OldBethelite 11 месяцев назад

      @@nickg2431I remember now…I was talking about “Here comes the Sun”. After you put the capo on, the chord progression is D (played normally while singing the verse), then go to Eminor instead of G before the A. Try it and see if your ear agrees. If not, throw the G back in. Either way, enjoy.

      @@briancherenaacosta923 the gases were contained in the case. The plastic disc in the belt buckle was the culprit. It's because of the type of plastic used. It also caused all the gold hardware to be covered in green crystals. I keep it in a stand permanently now and there are no further issues. It's a common problem with old Gretchs. I love the tone of this guitar despite the hardships.
