      Maybe if I transfer recorded footage to ssd and plug it back to ninja.. but that workflow is .. :S

    my first thought is... how fast your phone will be out of space when recording in proRes? I tested ProRes on the iPhone 15pro with 512GB and had about 15minj! Would be interesting to know if you can still record on your Sony A7sIII in 4k and in HD 265 on your phone for C2C, which would be the only purpose I would need.

      Hey, sorry for not including in the video - you can just stream direct to the cloud using Camera to Cloud if you have a subscription to this or Frame.io, etc. And assuming you have a stable connection. You can record in-camera at the same time as well, you just need to remember to hit record on your camera and within the Ninja Phone app - it won't do it automatically. You could set it to record HD 265 on the app, whilst recording 4K on your camera. You could even record 4K 60 on your camera whilst recording 4K 30 on the Ninja Phone... but you'd need to consider there would be a mismatch in the shutter speeds... so whether you'd *want* to do this would be up to you, but you *could*. But for the purposes you've mentioned, it would do everything you need and also be a great monitor :)

      @@WilkinsonCameras but how about recording to the iPhone instead of streaming but in h265, so the remote editor can work with the files instant? The goal would be to send proxy files to the editor while filming and uploading the rest later if needed. I want to produce videos on exibitions but they need to be online asap

      @@PedroHofmann Some of these capabilities only came out with the updates announced at IBC last week... so hopefully they'll make everything much clearer on the website soon. Some info here: www.atomos.com/2024/09/13/major-new-free-updates-for-ninja-phone/

      @@PedroHofmann you can record to your phone in H.265, but you'd be back to your original predicament of very quickly running out of hard drive space on your phone. Frame.io should be the ideal solution for you. On your other reply I included information from Atomos on the latest press release for Ninja Phone which includes information about how to trial Frame.io free of charge with Ninja Phone. It should allow you to fully test it.

    No pro res 10 bit 4k, just 10bit 4k H265. Just checking?

      @WilkinsonCameras  6 дней назад

      Hi, the update brought 4K 10-bit ProRes and 4K 10-bit H.265 options. More of the updates covered in the Atomos Press Release here: www.atomos.com/2024/09/13/major-new-free-updates-for-ninja-phone/
      It seems they still (as of the date of this comment) haven't updated the specs on the product page on the Atomos website though for some reason

    Can we use an external hard drive? Otherwise your phone will be full in 2 minutes.

    • @WilkinsonCameras
      @WilkinsonCameras  29 дней назад

      You can't use an external drive with the Ninja Phone unfortunately. You can record in-camera as usual and you can just upload straight to the cloud with Camera to Cloud or frame.io - assuming you have the network capabilities and relevant subscriptions. I'd like to see the option of a hard drive, but I guess the point of the Ninja Phone is to streamline workflows and minimise the kit you're carrying... so it does make sense.

    The price doesnt make sense. They found a way to cut costs on hardware by not having to build a screen and they charge the same price. Its ridiculous.

    • @WilkinsonCameras
      @WilkinsonCameras  29 дней назад

      The latest Ninja is quite a lot more than this and the Shinobi II is purely a monitor, so when compared to other Atomos products, the price does make sense.You're paying for Atomos' expertise in monitoring and recording and the user interface as much as the hardware itself. Much like you pay a premium for Apple products versus other less expensive brands 😉

      @@WilkinsonCameras i disagree. The atomps ninja v is $500 the ninja phone is $400 that doesnt compare. The price vs what you get is ridiculous.

    So compared to the Accsoon seemo 4K ?

    • @WilkinsonCameras
      @WilkinsonCameras  29 дней назад +2

      Accsoon SeeMo 4K records up to 4K/30 H.264 so it doesn't offer ProRes or H.265 10-bit options that the Ninja Phone does. The Ninja Phone also appears to be better made, but you'd expect this at the price point it sits. I'd say that the Atomos app offers a much slicker and better looking interface, plus you've got the legacy of Atomos' monitoring expertise behind it as well. They've been at this for years.
      There is a significant price difference, so which you choose will depend on your needs :)

    Full HD looks better actually. 4k is way to sharp. Even your examples, skin looks really good in 1080.

      @@WilkinsonCameras just checked it out. Nice video definitely! It’s just in my own opinion I feel like the skin texture is not flattering. Too much detail, too crisp. Looks nothing at all like film or it doesn’t have an organic feel to it if you get what I mean. But I mean no disrespect! 🙏

    It's definitely worth it now. With the iphone 16 having wifi 7 streaming live or transferring large files with airdrop will be a piece of cake. The 4k option is huge for this. As a wedding videographer it would be cool to stream a live event with this to see how things go.
