You have now made 3 videos about these laptops with zero proper review.
This channel has been mid for a while tbh. I still like the hosts but the content is not that useful or truly informative.
i am surprised it got 1.86mil subscribers when its literally 0 informative
Man's gotta eat.
because it’s not a review 😂😂
they are limited to what the constructors let them present.
we have to wait for the end of the embargo for the full reviews.
at the same time, the channel must get some revenues.
so we just have to wait.
Not a single person in this comment section gives a shit about copilot or a i in general. Love to see it.
Because they dont no its implications. I personally don't like AI but its the future and those that don't dominate it will be left far behind. its
Microsoft Copilot+ will go the way of the dodo sooner rather than later
Never heard of it until this vlog. Anything at this point that pertains to AI is farcical.
“AI workloads” “Co-pilot”, lol no thanks, these are the laptop versions of the 3DTV. Pure gimmick meme.
Exactly! Not enough people who can get the max benefit from it. Yes, programmers and mediocre blog journalists can get use from it. Everybody else, not so much.
Agreed, as soon as he mentioned copilot, my interest dived.
Personally, I’m more interested in seeing videos ‘not sponsored’ by Qualcomm.
Ummm how can a “buyer’s guide” not include any actual testing of the products?? Would be interested to see how these compare with Intel/AMD alternatives please :-)
Yeah, so odd. Plus, how is the MS Surface Laptop not mentioned, when it's arguably one of the best implemented.
They COULD, but they won't
Not sponsored by Qualcomm.
What's the point if they are not fanless and have similar TDP as competition?
That Lenovo is crazy... No headphone jack is nuts, I can live with USB-C
Eber, in future it would be much more helpful and informative if you could list the actual resolution on the screens of the devices you review. Calling a screen "Full HD+" or "Quad HD+" doesn't mean much to most consumers, and can mean different things based on different screen sizes and aspect ratios. It's much better to just say a screen is 3200x2000 or 1920x1200, as that eliminates a lot of confusion and ambiguity.
A full 15 minute video with nothing but bluff
Exactly! I'm 5 minutes in and it already feels like a waste of time
It's worth noting that the reason ARMs resurgence for Windows devices is due to Microsofts exclusivity agreement expiring with Qualcomm. Apple made a strong case for ARM as well, but I think opening up available OEMs is the only way this made sense.
The perma shilling of these very mid chips is getting a bit annoying.
has he even touched these laptop while filming this video?
Gawd dayum those are pricey
Why is it still not a review if you are this late? Looks like Qualcomm or some manufacturers are pissed off with hardware canucks. Dont provide review units?
These QC SD X series laptops cost from €1600 for where I am up to €2000+ which is fairly high. All good for general productivity and some other work, though for price I'd really want such laptops having proper gaming support and larger GPU included, while retaining great battery with this chip. Sadly we're not there yet.
ARM is NOT a magic sauce, once the perf will be where x86 is the battery time will be almost same. What Apple did is pay A LOT up front to be one process node ahead of everybody else, plus they have their own OS they can optimize for only their own SOC and thus get the perf/watt where they are, MS and ARM will never get to this level, but all the ARM fanbois dont want to hear these facts. RISC and CISC has steadily moved closer and closer to each other and today at same node, and at same place on the performance curve (frequency and power usage) there is almost no difference. There are several academic whitepapers on this that has existed for last 5 years explaining this and compared ARM and X86 but nobody cares about facts anymore.
dilemma is spelled wrong in description
Once the new AMD / Intel options come out, these will be a great deal when they're marked down by half.
if half the software doesn't even work, half the price would be in order I guess
@@hanswurst9866I have an older version that's much slower. Most software runs on mine so most software will run on these newer chips. The list of software that doesn't work is small so you're being disingenuous...
Just say no to AI.
I'm really not quite sure what this video was supposed to be about. Not all laptops and tablets were listed and no test or review was done. Were you just late to talk about them?
Showcasing a laptop balanced on a step ladder is definitely a step up :)
The Lenovo doesn't come with a dongle in the US... I bought one from Best Buy and it did not include one. I will be returning it because I like the Asus G14 better, but the keyboard on the Lenovo is better.
The opening to this video is nonsensical. When were ARM based devices were "budget" solutions?
I'm curious to know if any of these have more than one nvme slot.
The combination of extra battery life and good screen makes me want to load it up with movies.
and no, I don't want to use an external drive, if I could help it.

Would you mind to let me know the brand and model of the white mechanical keyboard that appears on your video? TKSM 😅
We all waiting for the test of the new noctua nh-d15 g2.
love the emphasis on webcam, portability, arm processors but mostly the usb c on the last laptop. we could have had usb c only world already but everyone was like "you go first" but when someone went first noone else followed so they left the first one in the ditch alone... we need to switch already
Man I'm so glad i get a giant white plastic dongle that unplugs easily with outdated AF display ports on its massive size, that's so much better than seamlessly integrating a tiny universal circle standard that headphones have used for decades. Thanks llenovo
Man that PZ13 is making me regret my surface pro 😅😢
somehow hadn't heard of the pz13 yet, looks interesting!
Lets see what the professional shills have to say...
these would go hard without copilot, i think i'll wait until they come out with a second generation to pick one up because they're a bit pricey
How does these work with very old x86 softwares ie Hicaps?
I would love to be an early adopter and get the Lenovo yoga.. But since I found out no USB A or headphone jack.. Huge deal breaker for something I'm meant to move around with.
I love my headphones and don't want to get wireless.. I have devices still using USB A.. So, yeah.
There's a work around sure, but having to get new devices just so I can use the yoga.. Nah
And I don't like HP build quality, else the omnibook would have been a good option.
I hope the Asus proart pz13 releases soon. I need a new portable PC for work and at the current pricing the value is so much bigger then with the surface
Is that the new Keychron keyboard ?
2024 PCs are branding ai features, what's the difference between Intel amd on windows copilot+ system?
The Lenovo 7x has been a good office task performer, like the battery life and cooling. The Co-Pilot button is a weird gimmick that still goes to a website.
Haven’t watched the channel in a while. I swear Eber looks a lot fitter now. Big ups to him 🙌🏻🔥
Why is “could” lower case in the title?
One thing for certain for me is I will be avoiding any hardware that has Co-pilot associated to it. I don't care if these laptops have 4 days of battery life.
These laptops are for light users. For medium to heavy users, they would still need discrete gpu and better software support.
Light user, high price...
@@chronometer9931 buy it on sale!
They need discrete gpu, they need upgradable ram, and with all that they're 600 dollar third rate laptops
@@MrPerrisC I don’t we will see upgradable ram. Maybe camm2 can change that.
@@y_0_1_0 You might be right, which is why no less than 32 gigs is the minimum anyone should get, and if they want more than 2 years of relevance they need 64-128 gigs
When I bought my 7 year old ryzen1, it started with 16 gigs, I upgraded to 32, I wouldn't be able to still use it with less
Non upgradable needs more than base ram config, in 2024 base ram config should be 32 gigs, as I said, my 7 year 600 dollar box has 32 gigs of ram and 1tb SDD
These aren’t interesting for DJs. The so called stem separation has nothing to do with NPUs and every major pro DJ software already offers high quality separation of up to four segments (e. g. vocals, melody, bass and drums/percussions with the software Serato DJ Pro).
The asus proart 2 in one does no have a gpu. it will run cpu oriented nles.
Very nice builds, but being more towards productivity machines the battery life is just okay unfortunately. Feels a bit overpriced, too.
I am most excited for Qualcomm's Snapdragon Dev Kit for Windows 2024, with the highest sku Snapdragon X Elite SoC with the 4.3 GHz boost clock speed, 4.6 TFLOPs GPU and 32 GB RAM.
"This video is sponsored by Qualcomm"
Another waste of a video...
If you are wondering why the different take on Copilot and Snapdragon X laptop, you missed the *Sponsored by Qualcomm*
Perhaps foolishly, for me the two ASUS devices are the most interesting. I've already seen a couple of reviews of the S15 but the PZ13 is really interesting as well (perhaps paradoxically, given how different they are?). Will definitely keep an eye out for your review of the latter...I do have to admit I'd like to see it be available in a 32GB version, right now just browsing with no photo editor open, I'm already using about 13GB...
A laptop platform for the future maybe, but with the current state of its "mini eco-system", that future is not yet coming. Wait for at least 2 years to see if Microsoft actually kept its promise
"Could" change. Didn't change shit.
2:08 but there's bluetooth 5.4 in the picture a couple of seconds earlier 🤔
BT 5.4 isn't necessary for APTX. Also Windows doesn't support 5.4 yet so its functionally BT 5.3 until that happens.
Could change everything
Narrator: "no its not"
I'll spare y'all about sixteen minutes of your time with adds as they don't review any of the machines. I went to a box store to browse and pick up a new mouse pad and saved one person from getting one of these machines. Snapdragon is unreliable under powered and essentially being pushed out for beta testing at consumers expense. AI/Copilot bloat & spyware is something to be avoided. Go back to the MS Surface Pros with Intel if you want a PC like this.
The ONLY reason I'm interested in Snapdragon X Elite laptops is because of battery life.
HOWEVER, if there are AMD or Intel laptops that can actually compete in battery life, I'm open to all recommendations. Should I wait for the upcoming AMD/Intel laptops later this year?
I would like a 120Hz OLED panel and 16:10 aspect ratio.
Thanks in advance.
higher odds for next year upcoming gadgets would have a new RTX 5000 series with oleds with their display panel. if you really dont need it for works or something really important, i think it'd be great for waiting the upcomin series.
Wait for Intel and AMD to drop first if you don't absolutely need a new laptop right now
Wait... These Snapdragon are going to be worse than the AMD ones coming
There is a new video out there explaining honest view on MS and QC giving no support to developers. as well as Microsofts betrayal, to their customers, their partners and their developers Cant name it here as this channel keeps deleting my messages
gotta say the Lenovo is super nice
Wow how much are they paying for all those bs videos about laptops where half the software doesn't even run on
Ah HELL NO!!! This is the laptop maker equivalent of "you will have nothing and like it". :(
Glad to see you continue making these videos Hardware Canucks. I was specifically waiting for Eber's take on the XElite series lineup. You always cover a lot of ground that isn't covered by others and have not only unique but practical takes on things.
so, lets summarize: with kinda lackluster performance, no passive cooling - so still bad fan curves and noise, compatibility issues, useless AI gimmicks and high prices, this mountain of mediocrity is supposed to be the next big thing while ryzen 300 and whatever the name for the new Intel chips is are right around the corner which look much stronger, PASS
but the fabricated hype machine has to keep going i guess
I COULD WIN THE LOTTERY!
now be serious, these ones specifically are way worse than what qualcomm advertised, and they have a long way to go.
Glad you asked my opinion, which of these Snapdragon laptops.
The CPU is so bad, it doesn't beat the lowest end Apple cpu in this years lineup, it barely beats the worst CPU n Apples lineup last year, and even there gets crushed iin GPU
It doesn't beat year old x86, and contrary it's false claim, it's not more efficient even than x86, when set to the same power draw, this X cpu gets crushed at everything
What's giving the X an illusion of efficiency is the large battery and it clocking down, it's not the X, t's not arm, it's settings and battery size
That doesn't even look at the coming zen 5 or lunar lake, both crushing this to embarrassment
X is a lie, ARM is a lie, this CPU should be for chromebooks
It's so over priced, we should be able to get two with these miserable specs, 16 gigs of RAM in 2024? and then charge over a K?...seriously?
I can buy an x86 with the better zen 4, (7940) with 40 gigs of ram for $800, nobody informed's gonna get this POS with chromebook specs
For this to sell, on a SoC that can't be upgraded, BASE model must have 32 gigs, and if we want it relevant for more than 2 years, 64 gigs must be an option, 64 gigs will be the standard in 3 years, my current 7 year old laptop now has 32 gigs RAM, if I want this to last the next 7 and can't upgrade, I wouldn't get a non upgradable laptop with less than 128
The X is pure hype, pushing a product two generations away from when it should have been released, uninformed might get this, those wanting the latest might get this, creators might get this for content (if it's free), nobody else gets this
Looks like MS is forcing all this AI bs down our throats, who gives a F about these gimmicky, rarely used features. I have Samsung Ai and I hardly every use anything. I'm excited about the arm chip bc of the freaking battery life and I'm curious about the performance, do reviews on that please!
Let's wait until they come with Nvidia GPUs and all the professional software made for ARM.
I will wait for Lunar Lake to see if ARM is any good or not.
Most reviews of X Elite said that X Elite is dead or arrival.
BATTERY LIFE is also 5% to 15% better than IntelCoreUltra which is disappointing.
All we wanted some cheap yet good laptops but they are trying to sell some half baked AI features to us. Also they want to get our data to train their AI to remove some employees( hot take!). In the end they are the only one benefiting from those.
ARM was supposed to provide better price to performance. Even in expensive segment those laptop are not getting much due to microsoft being microsoft! Yes more apps will likely to adopt the changes but that doesn't make sense for the price. All of those are using a lower spec GPU but look at the price lol.
I hope AMD and intel comes with something better than now and AMD needs to break qualcom arm chips for pc monopoly with their ARM chip in making for now. Only then we can see some real competition rather than AI gores.
These laptops are no value buy an M2 or M1 Pro for better value.
RTX 4060 laptop gets so far ahead of everything else scoring 102.15. Snapdragon X Elite 80watt best with its integrated graphics is 44.81. Apple M2 with 39.8... so better than an M.2, not bad I suppose but if you want performance, forget about these things and get yourself a Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2.
don't care about these laptops at all, already saw reviews and they still buggy
to my balls
Wow, pushing this garbage now?
None of these laptops should sell for even £1000. They are glorified chromebooks and nothing else. Stop sucking off Qualcomm and actually review them.
The best thing about Copilot+ is how it will drive Linux adoption forward.
Clickbait.. when M4, Ryzen 300, Lunar Lake all coming out next couple months, then we can have a fair comparison.
Ryzen 300 iGPU info from GPD shows it to be really good. Lunar lake is also shaping up to be pretty good.
Qualcomm dropped the ball. If they released this last year or the year before. It would’ve been super competitive and impressive.
but nothing will beat the used thinkpad in value
@@rokiesato thats typical of any 2nd hand products.
I would've gotten a used thinkpad, but it would've most likely been a downgrade to what im running right now. Current laptop is 6 years old and probably going to replace it due to battery life.
One of the main challenges here is timing. Its a chicken vs egg scenario. Qualcomm had the tech ready but the next gen WoA platform wasn't....and it eventually meshed into the whole Copilot+ thing which just seemed to be such a tone deaf move by MS given the current environment. So yes, I think Qualcomm's disclosures caused AMD and Intel to really improve their offerings and timelines. Where it goes from there...well...we will see.
@HardwareCanucks it's a half baked underwhelming product
Lenovo has big problems with batteries. These die after one year and Lenovo costumer service doesn't care. Avoid Lenovo.
I've owned one for about 3 years now. Never had a battery issue. Had a hinge issue, which is a well known defect. Customer service was great, I have the 3 year extended warranty with home service. It was very cheap (buying that extended warranty at the time of purchase) and the service was really good.
Clickbait title, no real review, unsubscribed.
First
with some upcoming firmware updates from qualcomm and the manufacture's and software updates from windows and the app developers these laptops will basically take over Windows and linux computers and make life difficult for apple. They already outperform most others with its multithread. They are basically beta versions. AI might not be a consideration for most but for creators it can be. Its a creative tool. Apple is desperately trying to catch-up AI is the future of the world whether we like it or not.
Keep dreaming and pulling fake facts from your butt. They are far from the most performant and AMD Ryzen AI 300 and Intel Lunar Lake will blow past the SD laptops easily
Hype video glazing Qualcomm, AI and latop manufacturers with no review or any performance analysis or anything of substance at all? Wow, I thought this channel was better than to do simple shill pieces. SMH.
shill
Wake me up when these useless sponsored videos will end and some real reviews come back with tests and comparisons. So tired of this brochure reading BS 10 minute ads.
The chips are trash, the ai features are trash, the prices are trash and yet you guys promote them as the next big thing. Unsub deserved ngl
Currently running the 15in Surface laptop base model Elite chip 16gb of ram and 256gb HD. This thing has been fantastic. First thing I did was upgrade the HD myself to a 2tb drive.
I have a 5k gaming PC so I could give a shit about how well it runs games. No, I have 0 interest in running emulated x86 apps. I run specifically arm built apps and they work great. As the new versions of apps come available in ARM ill run them. Battery life has been as advertised which is by far the most important thing. I am 1 of the people actually looking forward to using Recall.
1 thing noticed, and very apple like. As a bit of a power user I run with RAM utilization in the high 80s. Everything continues to run at a very snappy space. No system slowdown at all. So other than upgrading the HD I think 90% of people would be fine with base models.
Well you're a great sue case for these laptops, that's for sure. We think of these laptops as a secondary device for people who already have a gaming or productivity PC and just need something with good standby time and more.
Snapdragon X Elite ❤❤❤
Are all of these AT LEAST 16:10? Because a 16:9 laptop is DOA toy e-waste....
The galaxy book 4 edge has a 3k 16 : 10 OLED screen on both the 14 and 16 inch one.
Another amazing video
I hate Windows, and then Macs are expensive to maintain. I wish an Android laptop existed.
And MS Windows still sux, no significant improvement since windows 8.
ARM windows will probably be the biggest tech failure of the decade.
Or the biggest success for people who just care about everyday apps and battery life and don't want a Macbook.
apple M chips already did that
@@HardwareCanucks that’s not enough to make sustainable, imagine selling a windows laptop knowing it will not support many applications. I don’t think people would buy. This case is s similar to windows RT case.
@@salemalameri2817 As someone who had a Surface RT, I would avoid these and Chrome books like the plague. Also avoid Windows S? A 2012 Windows Phone with Windows Phone 8.1 is probably more useful today than any of these devices.
