3 to 6 months is typical. A year or more before contact does occur but the more time that passes before contact...the less logical it is to take them back or even reply to the text. If you leave your favorite water bottle or baseball cap on the subway and after a year, you find it completely filthy and stinkin'......you wouldnt drink out of it or put it on your head. You would see it as garbage to a degree because you dont know where it has been..and who else was using it

I need advice me and my girlfriend broke up and she talked to someone else she didn’t have sex with the guy but did suck his area. We were together 2 years I did everything wrong from the start I cheated on her with probably like 15 people in sexual ways. She’s a good Christian girl but after 2 years of me cheating and treating her bad she couldn’t take it no more. But after she did that with the guy she came back to me because she regretted and was shameful for it. I know I did horrible to her the whole time together. And this was the only thing she’s ever done to hurt me but I understand she was lost and hurt trying to get rid of me and when she realized she couldn’t she came back. I took her virginity I’m the only one she’s ever been with like that. We’re trying to work it out but it hurts a lot I know she would never do anything like that to hurt me she was just hurt and trying to move on but she can’t. What should I do? She is a good girl. Mine went back to their ex. After he was on the dating apps and then cried over me a few months later he was hanging with her again.
She left me at the beginning of this month, but she really was a great woman. I’ve just always cheated and it took me too long to stop and we broke up tried to talk for a couple months but we’d always fight. Finally we were more calm with eachother and I was loving her how I always should’ve and she kept pushing me away and now she has a new man. It hurts so bad because it truly wasn’t her fault I pushed her away. Now I’m broken, I’m improving myself and I’ve been talking with God and I want to get baptized soon. But I still reach out to her and no response. I really thought we were going to spend the rest of my life with her now I’m broken. I thought she’d always be there and I messed up. I wish o could just sit down and talk with her.

Problem is you’re still focused on them. Do you they are happy? Do you know they will never get divorced? Do you know that it won’t go another 5 years and one won’t cheat on the other? Exactly. When two people are still in the relationship, things can be worked on. Things like instability, addiction and depression can be overcome and overlooked.
But once the unstable person decides to break up, a switch is flipped for the stable partner. It is a big event. From then on, all those problems cant be sorted out and overlooked. They see how far gone the ex really is and it becomes a relief knowing you did what you could and you dont have to be pulled down into the mess.
