Thanks David. The rod did exactly what it was supposed to do. Hopefully it continues to do it. Lol

I’m getting a little excited. Got plane ticket and car rental paid for. Taking 10 year old grandson down to Marathon and son is taking us out for some ocean side shipwreck fishing.

Heck yes Steve. That’s what I’m talking about. Drift and bottom fishing a wreck. Sounds like snapper, grouper and amberjack may be on the menu. You guys are going to have a great time and make some wonderful memories.

Do those rods break down small enough to put in a suitcase

@rangerbull they do. Checkout the linked video at the end regarding the casting rod. You can see me pull it out of a suitcase in Florida. Diawa and St Croix also make some travel rods

It’s the only brand of travel rods I’ve ever owned, so I really can’t compare to anything. What travel rods do you have Mike ?

nice, i had an telescopic rod from amazon once. the reel was nice but the rod was trash. i gave up on em. might consider gettin this because the price to travel with a rod case is ridiculous

You’re not lying about the cost to ship tubes. I had an awful experience a few years ago on a fishing trip to Lake Norman NC. I have one of those telescoping rod tubes. TSA inspected it and broke 3 rods on the flight home. That’s why I have travel rods now. If I ever do another rod tube it’s gonna be a solid non telescoping model. These travel rods are legit for the price. There’s some other brands on the market that I want to dry out as well. Daiwa and St Croix make some and F5 rods makes a 4 piece swimbait rod. 👀

Nice fish. As far as the rod I am sure it’s good but if it has BMs name on it I am out. He is my least favorite fisherman.

The rod performance and value for me are the key factors. Flying with rod tubes for me a is a No-Go since TSA broke 3 of my rods two years ago. These are the first ones I have ever picked up. I know St Croix and Daiwa make some. I’m curious about them. F5 rods makes a 4 piece swimbait rod that I’m looking at. Do you own any travel rods?
