Some 86 million innocent people died and there's probably going to be a surge in cancer and infertility rates across Asia and Europe, but at least America's fine! You have to keep in mind this is still a nuclear war's best case scenario.
I wonder how the AI strategizes in this one. I did not notice where all of the Russias subs went, some were destroyed in the pacific, but I would expect there to be more. Those could have eliminated your silos when you started launching, if any where in range But for sure the AI could have scored some hits even when it launched if it targeted west coast cities - they were too far from the silos to be defended I think.
The AI in DEFCON won't immediately launch all their missiles once DEFCON 1 hits. They will wait for a mass strike once a bit of time has passed after 1. Hence, why a first strike, if successful since silos have AA, if they aren't launching missiles, will most definitely cripple a player.
Cool! You managed to make a perfect ending for a depressing game. There's also a game about playing with casualties, called Concrete tremor, but it has a scripted ending
I learned a lot from this Gameplay :) Alaska is not worth it to put Silos. Only a radar and maybe an Air base... All silos should be in the same spot for an efficient defence. Didn't know submarines can sumerge and emerge lol When DEFCON I is reached I have to slow down the game speed and launch at the same time all ICBMS to overwhelm the adversary's air defense. Interceptors must be sent even if the threat isn't in range. Interceptors and strategic bombers from airbases can be send to aircraft carriers to replace the destroyed units. Thanks! I'll destroy the IA next time!
Using the aerial launched missiles to soak up their initial defense while suppressing their inclination to let off rounds. Securing supremacy in the Pacific and Atlantic to deny them routes for air launches to the states. Firing off your land missiles first, then firing your submarine missiles last, to combine the arrival times for a massive merciless strike to overwhelm what defensive capability remained. The generous thing about this scenario is that Russia has battle ready carriers. Aside from this masterclass of strategy, imagine a world where Russia and only Russia is vanquished by nuclear fire. An entire nation reduced to ruin while its attempt to secure mutually assured destruction failed miserably. The US just demonstrated that there IS indeed a way to WIN a nuclear war, and only they can do it, by just doing it.
Thanks. Obviously this is just a game, and both sides in this game have 316 nuclear warheads. In reality Russia has over 6500, and the USA has over 6000. So even if the attacker played all their cards right and attacked first, they would likely still suffer a counter-attack that gets through. I think Russia is more likely to fire first in the event of WW3 because they know the US has a technical advantage on conventional forces, and the Kremlin would want to get their nukes out the tubes before the US wipes out their ability to retaliate. This is why brinksmanship with Russia is so dangerous, and why the conflict in Ukraine is concerning due to its potential to escalate
I think it’s cuz it sounds like frantic commands being given. I don’t have that level of background noise now. This was one of my first gaming videos I ever filmed
Even as a proud citizen of the United States, this scenario is tragic. I'm glad that such a scenario exists, however unlikely it is. Still, not only will the entire Soviet territory likely be rendered uninhabitable for upwards of 50 years (nuclear bombs are not power plants, not nearly as many particles to stick around), but the world would have seen the true devastation of nuclear war and see a winner. Nuclear warfare would either be made normalized - or more thankfully taboo. The loss would be unimaginable, probably upwards of 2-3x the amount from World War 2. Just the humaniterian crisis alone for Europe and the rest of Asia would be astonishing for the world to bear. I hope we never have to resort to nuclear war ever, and if it does come to that, the damage be mitigated as much as possible.
@JosephSimoneAverageJoey2000 nevermind it's 2am and I should sleep. I confused the nuclear target icon with the launch notification alert. Damn I should really sleep. Love the little detail

I did not notice where all of the Russias subs went, some were destroyed in the pacific, but I would expect there to be more. Those could have eliminated your silos when you started launching, if any where in range
But for sure the AI could have scored some hits even when it launched if it targeted west coast cities - they were too far from the silos to be defended I think.
Did Soviets not launch any missiles or did I just not see it?
Why did they wait so late?
Ikr. The USSR is notorious for jumping to press the big red button. Why did they do nothing? They should of detected the silo launches.
I’ll check it out! Thanks!
I used to set this game to only cpu players and just watch it go.
It’s a lot of fun! I’ll be doing more DEFCON content now as a result of the increased demand for it.
Let’s make this the meme game of 2024!
those people in NORAD were glad that Joshua hadn't found out the Kevin Castley maneuver... imagine otherwise
😼🤠😎
the only winning move is not to play
oh and theres also this ig
For real
"Mutually assured destruction? Haha, no son."
This game could really do with a upbeat synthpop soundtrack, good match!
Pardon me, but icbm is next door
Some hard phonk music or the doom soundtrack lol
The subtitle for the game is "everybody dies", the angle is more about atmoic armageddon and less bubblegum RTS
99 Luftballons would fit the bill.
Seems more like Atom Bomb Baby for this play
The only case of M.A.D. without the mutual part
Well technically there is another video on my channel of me doing this but from the perspective of Russia… So technically two cases 😊
This right here is some Assured Destruction lol
🤠
The music has a “Kharack is burning. There’s nothing left for us here, let’s go.” kind of vibe and I know that’s intentional.
Real.
@@SuperPGaming oh mein got he got the reference!

Be sure to follow me on X at KevinCastley and my main RUclips channel Superpower Broadcasting for more content! 🤠
They should make this simulation for more than just flat earthers.
Ikr 😅
Well what are we waiting for? Put this man in charge and start those missiles flyin!
This is metro 2033 lore.
The Santa tracker LOL
☢️🎅🤠
I learned a lot from this Gameplay :)
Alaska is not worth it to put Silos. Only a radar and maybe an Air base...
All silos should be in the same spot for an efficient defence.
Didn't know submarines can sumerge and emerge lol
When DEFCON I is reached I have to slow down the game speed and launch at the same time all ICBMS to overwhelm the adversary's air defense.
Interceptors must be sent even if the threat isn't in range.
Interceptors and strategic bombers from airbases can be send to aircraft carriers to replace the destroyed units.
Thanks! I'll destroy the IA next time!
Yup!
You should make DEFCON streams and videos. Let’s bring this game back! ☢️🤠
Bro just said nuh uh to the whole „nobody wins a nuclear war” part of nuclear warfare

this video increases nuclear proliferation
Uh oh. Cuz it’s not the only DEFCON video on this channel 😬
this is why we need 20 fleet carrier battlegroups on standby
Wow, that's impressive! I've had some really good games before, but I always took at least one hit.
Thanks!
I might do more videos and show people how to win without taking civilian casualties
No one wins a nuclear war mfs when this guy walks in: 😦
🤠
"Everybody Dies"

The people I used to play with when this game was in its prime would absolutely slaughter this guy lol
They can come challenge me 😎
I like how player 1 did not launch a single nuke until less than 40 seconds remained
I don't know why, but the clicking and keyboard sounds make this sound more realistic in an unnerving way.
I think it’s cuz it sounds like frantic commands being given.
I don’t have that level of background noise now. This was one of my first gaming videos I ever filmed

Two years later, no nuclear war yet. I hope I can say the same in another two years.
Me too! 🙏
Correct. It’s genuinely scary seeing NAFO accounts come out openly hoping for the US to do this. In reality Russia would fire back.
Bruh it’s been so long since I’ve seen a video about DEFCON, people call it a dead game and I can’t disagree😢
We’re bringing it back! 😎☢️☢️☢️
my first time hearing about this game. maybe I should play it?
@@GeneralLDS yeah it’s pretty fun even just using bots and you can still play with people sometimes as well

what is the sleigh doing? how do I instantly reveal all the enemy silos like that lol
the sleigh is because NORAD tracks Santa Claus. don't know what you mean about revealing silos
Russia deployed a tactical Santa…
He’s not very effective!
@JosephSimoneAverageJoey2000 nevermind it's 2am and I should sleep. I confused the nuclear target icon with the launch notification alert. Damn I should really sleep.
