    Nice DIY Chris! I'm with you on no spring compressors to disassemble the struts/ shocks. I've always hit em with an impact and just let em fly. The only 'problem' I've ever run into by doing it that way is possibly losing a piece of the hardware. If you're doing this job and your scared and dont have a spring compressor, you can put the strut against the wall or something that way the spring cant fly anywhere and smack you. You can also use a ratchet strap to steady it as well. Most parts stores will rent them too if you're hell bent on using one. With the fronts pulled, now would be a great time to install some bump steer correction plates as well. I believe AKG Motorsport and some other vendors sell them. They make a huge difference for such a small and overlooked part and are well worth the money. Nice vidjia bruh 👍😎

      Thanks for the support Pete, you are totally correct on the AKG bumpsteer correcter. I only have those on one car. I need to get more of them.

    awesome video! all of the other videos on the E34 failed to mention the part about having to cut the stock shock and weld in the new one on the front. it is very easy if you follow along. thank you for posting this!

    Popping front springs off, "I've never had anything go bad this way" almost knocks over his whiteclaw.. I'm just here to see how much you welded cause I want to be able to cut mine off and reuse, just in case. Looks like a half circle and a small stitch on top. Which was about my plan. That everlast sounds nice for a 110v!

    I think i figured it out. I watched your video again and your front sway bar links were just as low as mine. I’m guessing you used the jack to bring them into alignment with new shock mount point. great video and very helpful. Thank you.

    Did the factory front stabilizer links need to be changed to a longer adjustable links? 1995 540i without the sports package. front links appear to be about 3” too short to match up to BC BR stabilizer mount point.

      I didn't have any issue, were both the wheels off the ground when you were trying to hook it up?

    This might sound stupid. Can I simply directly cut to the hub without disassembling the strut/spring? I’m going to the wreckers to get a set of lower hubs that way I can save time and and cut directly. Do I can keep my own original suspension intact

    • @DENVERBEERANDOIL
      @DENVERBEERANDOIL  2 года назад +1

      You can, it will just be more material to cut through and the shock oil will leak every where

      @@DENVERBEERANDOIL will there be any dangerous pressure? that is actually risky?

      It will be pressurized, but the tube will contain it, should not explode or be dangerous

    I’m thinking about buying BC’s for my E34, but I have a few questions about them. Are the coilovers at max low right now or can they go lower? If they can go lower, how much lower can they still go?

    • @DENVERBEERANDOIL
      @DENVERBEERANDOIL  3 года назад +1

      That's how low they are straight out of the box. They will go low enough to tuck wheel with 16s
