For years bassists have been combining guitar and bass amps to remarkable effect, adding harmonics and layers of overdrive from a guitar amp to their core bass tone in pursuit of the ultimate live sound. This ‘bi-amp’ trend got us thinking… Why drag two amps to the show when you could take just one? The result is the OB1 Series of class A/B rack mountable bass heads which take care of this and much more besides.
The key to the OB1’s unique sound is our footswitchable Blend circuit which adds a veneer of controllable gain and increased harmonic content to the upper registers of the input signal. The lower frequencies and clean signal are left alone, staying warm and clear just as they would be in a ‘bi-amped’ setup. Depending on where the Gain and Blend controls are set, the possibilities are limitless. Punch in the Blend control to achieve anything from a transparent clean boost, to all-out filthy grind, and everywhere in between.

If Joe still uses that tone that he had jn 88 Fingers Louie and the one Rise Against song i have heard can he still get it in this Orange? Nit sure what he even used before because I never saw 88 fingers live

+Wilem Thomas Orange very recently started making a couple of Les Paul-style guitars, so I imagine this is just a bass version of it. I don't know the model name but you can just make out the Orange logo on the headstock and I think they have a few pictures of it on their Facebook page

Orange seems like the worst brand of amps for Joe, doesn't complement his style at all.
If you want "precise" you go with mesa+ph cab. This is definitely just a sponsor deal.
I'd like to see him return to mixing guitar amps with bass amps like he did around 2001-2004.
Watch any video of that era, I bet you the bass sounds killer. Still looking for that tone to this day.
+Principezone I don't know man... I personally have never played with an Orange amp up until recently, in which I went to record my bands' new album. The producer used an Orange Bass Terror 500 to record the bass. I was blown away by how well an Orange amp can fit into the punk bass sound.
Don't dismiss it as something bad just yet. Lets wait and see how his sound shapes with the Orange setup.
+Ghosthawk I didn't mean to imply that these are bad amps, not at all.
What I'm saying is, if you want the (classic) Rise Against tone, Orange isn't the way to go.
Principezone so what would be the way to go for that classic rise against tone bass wise
80% Of Joes tone is Sansamp DI pedal.
For amps he uses ampeg SVT tubes and Mesa stuff. If you ask me, his tone is the most orgasmic on the "live at the troubadour" videos. He uses a mesa Big Block 750 there. But again, Sansamp will get you halfway there (no pun intended).
I got a Sansamp Bassdriver DI and i still haven't completely replicated his sound. Does anyone have any clue how he sets his settings up???
