    For the ones who understand the law of conservation of energy, this result is not a surprise. I drive a proace ev myself fully equiped for service and maintanance work. 50% of the time extra loadfrom 400 to 600 kg wich with standard equipment included comes close to the max. of 1000kg. Still range and torque is the same. what is killing the range is: 1a) air-resistance, cv value, try cycling against the wind in a brickshaped vehicle; 1b) roofcarrier with ladder ; 2) heating A/c.

    Its not suprising at all, the Maxus is a ground up EV, the Peugeot is an ICE conversion.
    So the maxus will be more efficient & have more payload capacity since they used lighter materials and a way more efficient drive train

    Interesting how little difference the load made. I wonder if that test was done in a more urban environment with more stop start. would they have seen a bigger variance in range with the full load.

      Good point. Might have made a bit of a difference but not much we'd guess. Regen braking would counteract a lot of extra weight for stop-start. Thanks for the comment!

    nice test but not much about charging ? Maxus 80 was bad at that.

    I've seen some other videos in the US where they did towing tests with EVs and the weight didn't really matter. What really made a difference is the Aero profile of the load. I would guess if you added roof racks and a equipment up top then the range would suffer on these vans.

    And there is the main problem until the builders merchants, Screwfix, Toolstation and other service merchants put in charging points Will be let down and have to go to another place to charge which won’t be economical

    Peugeot partner is also not a good car. it is fully loaded with very cheap plastic but not cheap in price when you want to buy one. electrically also one off the worst car in the market. very often you need to change the lights.
