Right!! His excavators are mostly used for clearing in the woods and yet they have no big scratches on them. Most used excavators have most of the paint missing on the counterweight by the time they are only a few years old.
Chris cares for his equipment. They are his source of income. Some other owner/ operators don't care they say it doesn't matter as long as they are making money with them, but it does matter people look at the equipment that someone's going to do the job at there house and if they show up with a peace of crap excavator all scratched up and clanking along. They will look for another company to do the work.
@@garymurt9112my take from watching what Chris was dealing with is that, using one or two guys on the ground with portable rebar cutters to cut the rebar sticking out of the concrete pieces would have made the crusher job more efficient. No excess rebar to jam up the crusher. This was not the first time Chris has crushed concrete. The YT algorithm put one in my feed from 3 yrs ago. He needed more grunts on the ground for that kind of help.
hi, Chris I've been following you for years and all of your videos are great. well shot, great commentary, and well edited, but two from 6 years ago remain my favorites! I still replay them when I need a good laugh. "Snakes in the backhoe" is priceless! Making great progress on this job. Thanks for all your hard work.
Loving the fuel trailer - great asset. It is so good to watch the D6 and track loader at work - strong old machines never seem to die. Neat clearing work as well.
Isn't that just the most beautiful fuel trailer. When they made that for Chris, he didn't tell them how he wanted it to be wrapped. He was just as surprised to see it as we were. 😂
No matter what the project, u always do meticulous work; clearing that mess is amazing. D6 always comes through, good piece of our heritage! God's blessings and stay safe.
Chris, the fuel trailer has been a Godsend for you, having the availability to be able to maintain your equipment is wonderful. Great job with the clearing, looks awesome.
I recall old films showing land clearing with two dozers and a massive chain towed by them both to clear large tracts of brush and trees , you could do that and then go back with a scarifier or such thing to get all the roots on big jobs like this that individual tree removal with an Excvtr is just slow at.
Myself I like pines an cedar trees One birds don't build in them much An snakes stay away from An pine needles keep weeds An grass under control if you do you're Part and don't let land get out of control
I agree. Once, we had contracted on a house not quite finished that had a very wide buffer of mixed vegetation giving us the privacy we wanted. Then without our consent or knowledge, the bulldozer wiped it all out, leaving us to deal with the backyards of several neighbors with their sheds, chicken coups, trash, untagged cars, dog lots, etc. Never like living there after that. It should have been our decision to clear it since money had changed hands.
I have a 120ft tall sweet gum tree near my house. It drops 5x the leaves of an oak or a maple. Beautiful in the fall until you have to clean up the leaves.
Yes, You making Your Way by this Lot clearing! You have all Stepp Exactly Planing! Where You with what Machine make and how You this make. Himself the Weather is in Your Planing Calculate. Alike what You have to work You give always 100 % 👌
That little drott seems to be lacking a bit of power, I seem to remember them clearing brush out a lot easier. It was our go to machine for lots of jobs
At least, now, you'll have a pretty good idea of how you would bid a rock crushing job (nightmare) in the event that you kinda get cornered into needing to do that if ever again. One thing's for sure. You won't forget the agony of it all. The physical agony as well as the mental part. I felt for you throughout that entire crusade. I'll say one thing for sure. You handled it like a pro. I'm proud of you. You have never let me down. Your resiliency is off the chart.
You operate exactly like a surgeon except with much larger tools, they way you finesse objects with large equipment effortlessly and smoothly makes me think I could do it, maybe I could but it will not be pretty and smooth but more like rough and ugly until you got back from lunch to fix my mess and lock your equipment up so I couldn’t use it anymore😂, great work
Sweet gums are not as bad as Sycamore or Magnolia. The Geoff Enterprise Properties is looking good - clearing for future builds and more tax money for the county. Wilma D6 is working good for you. Good to give Francine a workout too.
My neighbor has a sweet gum right next to the fence, you are correct it is a mess, I think I'll share my chestnut hulls with him when they start producing.
1:46 You forgot to mention that those sweet gum balls are covered with hard spikes that are not fun to step on with soft- soled shoes. This was one of the reasons why I had all sweet gum trees removed from my yard.
Something strangely satisfying watching you go about your daily work like saying ill just fix up this little bit of dirt before you went to clear those bits of scrub that's what separates Chris from others his attention to details and doing a job to his standard and not just doing hats off to you mate Cheers
I appreciate your show I’m glad you don’t use too much of that fast motion stuff ,you work enough hours that you can get an hour show and love watching you do actual work
Like the fact that you actually save a few trees🙂I Love pines, and wish I had more of them on our quarter acre property. Wish our Lot of a bit Larger, cause I still feel like I am too close to the neighbors, but it wwas all we could afford when looking to buy back in 2011..
Have you considered adding a few cordless tools to your fuel trailer inventory. WORX makes a small power cleaner that can be attached to a garden hose or it has another hose with a water pickup that you could drop into a 2.5g camping water jug to clean windows etc. They also have a small chain saw that could cut up longer trees etc, and they also offer a leaf blower which is useful too to provide draft when starting a fire. As they are cordless you would not need to carry, gas and two stroke oil etc. Thanks for the videos....
I like how you are leaving naturally germinated trees and not those that produce suckeres from a cut tree stump. Most do not know, but trees that regrow from a clearcut are almost all hollow at the bottom, and it progresses as it grows. This is due to the stump being encapsulated along with other suckeres dying off due to competition. You never have to worry about pines, though, once cut they do not regrow from the stump. This is for the followers.
I don’t know what kind of camera you use but it’s like sitting in the cab of dozer like I did with my grandfather over 60 years ago. Thanks for all the great camera work including the arial views as well!
I pass by Harding Equipment every day going to work, and driving past those new Hyundai excavators and loaders I’m thinking you got such a cool job, getting to operate that equipment every day. I know it’s not easy, but you do nice work Sir.
Kinda makes me chuckle that people think Chris would let any of his equipment go unmaintained to where it sounds loose, especially if it's long time viewers of his channel. Closest he ever came to doing that was when he and his uncle were doing that veterinary hospital moving all that rock. That time he waited until the job was done so it wouldn't ruin newly installed pins and bushings. Besides, that was the 220 John owns and not equipment Chris himself actually owns. Chris maintains his equipment very well.
Please comment on the use of the track loader for clearing land. How is it compared with the dozer and the the excavator? If you had to use only one machine to do this clearing job, which one and why?
Won't be long till houses begin sprouting all over that area Geoff is having Chris clear. Geoff should be having Chris save many o rhe smallpine trees to transplant to landscape his properties. Pine trees are easy to dog out their root ball and burlap then move to storage or plant.
I don't care what anyone else thinks Chris is one of the best Operators I've seen . Dirt Perfect is still a Farmer and I see it with how he uses his equipment and the short cuts.. This isn't cutting Mike, the terrain is total different but Chris is a pleasure to watch and as a retired operator myself Chris will always get my vote
One thing I’ve learned thru these videos is to never question Chris’s maintenance on his equipment! His equipment is showroom ready!!!
Right!! His excavators are mostly used for clearing in the woods and yet they have no big scratches on them. Most used excavators have most of the paint missing on the counterweight by the time they are only a few years old.
All heavy equipment rattles.

Judging from jeffs sinking boat I'd bet Chris & jeff have some wild times behind the scenes 😂 The plots are coming along nicely .
The equipment is too expensive to run it like you stole it!
I'm just glad that rock crushing job is behind us.
me Too that wore me out.
@@dennishinton1760- 😂😂😂. That’s the expression I was looking for!! I knew I was just stressed after those videos!! 😊
That's what I do for a living, it's not that difficult once you get to know what you are doing.
@@garymurt9112 - I guess so hey! It’s all a matter of perspective! Thanks for saying something!!

You and the old D6 are doing an excellent job of using the brush to "sweep the floor" of the construction area. Well done!

Sorry you're right D6!

Another good day of clearing. Thank you Chris. Have a good weekend.
I'm glad you like the old Cats, they have been doing a great job with your brush.
Coming along quite nicely
Video was complete when the 6 kitty was put to work, it has to be the sweetest dozer on You Tube. Thanks for the update sir, enjoying the series.
Nice work Chris, your job site is always so organized.
good pond clearing job
The snow gums whilst messy with bark shedding etc..are in my opinion absolutely stunning
That old iron loves to work. Awesome video.
Sweet gum trees have some beautiful leaves in the fall.
That is the only thing good about them.
Sweet gum balls can make you twist your ankle.
They aren’t good for firewood either!
Great job!!! Let’s dig some more. I’ve enjoyed all the videos I’ve watched.

What ?😳
Could you use steel washers for shims on your cutting edges?
It might not take out all of the rattle. But it could take out most of it.
Good Morning looks like it’s starting another day to do some amazing work like the videos watching from San Francisco

Dig ‘em up move ‘em out…lookin’ good!!
👍👍👏👏👏👍👍
Yes that looks cool Peace out
Chris is in summer mode, shorts to work! Has the small pond across the road filled with water?
Beally-Goode had an update on it a few days ago.
Thanks

What is it about a particular sites characteristics that determines whether you decide to use your track loader versus your bull dozer?

Good morningChris😍🥰🌟🔥💥✨
Need to get you a 963 cat track loader it’s a boss of a machine
How long and how much would it take to clear 90 acres?
You defiantly need to extend that exhaust pipe, that roll-bar is black again.
🌳🌳
You are a very busy man, I am curious though. Are you able to use Betty, or do you still have it?
What u do with the Hyundai?
Hey Chris how’s the little pond that you and Jeff built on that property? I’d like to see it.
🙂
Got enough burn piles ?? Can't wait for you to set them off. Just bring along some hot dogs for lunch😅
