It's amazing how much hard work you've got to put into having a relaxing time! Been there, got the 'T' shirt but, like you, I get it. Amazing channel!!!!
Another great video. I never take any food when I go fishing these days. I take a camping stove & fry up what I'm able to eat. Nothing like fish when its that fresh. Way more satisfying too. keep up the great work mate.
Another brilliant video and keeping 1 fish in 4 year is some good going, well done you. Each trip i do whether its for 1 night or 3 nights i keep a Pollock (only if over 4lb) and make a Pollock hash which is amazing especially when loads of black pepper added.
I've only kept one Pollack i've caught and didn't really enjoy it that much, so haven't kept another. Pollack has sounds good though so might give it another go when this winter.
It was just a random comment between me and my missus during a walk along rocks at low tide. Normally limpets offer a bit of grip on slippery rocks, but on this particular walk the limpets were covered in green weed. I said to the missus 'watch out for those slippy limpets' and that was it. The name of my blog and then youtube channel was coined. 👍🎣
Great vid mate, we did pretty much the same to catch our women only you did posh with the salmon, mine got dog fish ( rock salmon, lol but it still worked , ) she out fishes me at times, the kayak fishing 👍👍👍tight line's mate
Eyup Nathan. I can't think of anyone who deserves a big fish supper more than you do fella - I'm glad you enjoyed it. Get an eyeful of Mars while you can - it appears bigger now than it will for 15 years. Keep looking up! Dave
Nice to see you enjoying the fruits of your labours mate!! And about time 😂 5 years?!?! If I came back from 5 fishing trips without something for supper bud, the missus would be giving me sooooo much grief 😭 . Keep up the good work and eat more of what you catch 😋 Saves buying it 👍 👍
I used to take mackerel home until the missus asked me to stop, she said she was going to turn into one!!It did taste good but think I'll stick to catch and release, unless I fancy treating myself
Very brave doing the bush tucker thing I am no expert fish filleter I suppose it makes one somewhat lazy in Grimsby you always know someone who can ...really different vlog form you ..i really enjoyed this cheers mate

Great video mate and great commentary, really enjoyed it. Never done an open fire or BBQ with Bass. Other fish I catch, plenty of times, but not Bass. It’s my main target species and eating fish, but I just can’t bring myself to dispatch and cook them. Weird I know. I’m just glad I’ve been able to catch it and want to get it back in the water safe to catch another day. My mates think I’m weird, but I just can’t do it. It just feels a little too special to have a muppet like me eat it. Not being righteous or anything, I think it’s great that responsible fishermen and women are rewarded with such a great experience after catching one of these beauties and long may that continue. Tight lines
I know what you mean mate, I normally put all of my fish back not just bass so, I didn't include it in the video, I had to have a word with myself before dispatching it. Still, 1 kept bass in 4 years of bass fishing isn't too bad a ratio and probably made it more tasty. Thanks for watching and tight lines👍🎣
Love the vid mate 👍looks like you could be going feral. . Ha! You should get yourself a (travel kadai) and keep it in its bag in ya car boot . . The bass looked well nice keep the adventures coming. . Tight lines 🎣🎣👍
Ha, just prepping mate. Those kadai look canny. I actually had a gas version (cadaq safari) in the boot at the time but really wanted to cook on the fire, so stuck with it. Thanks again and tight lines 👍🎣
I loved this video but all the time I was watching I could not help but shout at the screen use the roast in the tin container that you got with your veg .but you did a good job anyway but it might be a tip for next time tightlines
Funny you should mention the roasting tin, the same thing crossed my mind as soon as I'd put the foil parcel on the fire! Thanks for sticking with it and tight lines👍🎣
Awesome video, great to see someone as mad as myself going off grid and just getting away from society. Next time try adding some chorizo to your bass with Piri Piri rice. Unreal cooked over a flame.
I use a Viking Profish 400 Lite, it's very lightweight fr a plastic sit on top. I you want light kayak than it tends you would have to look at getting a fibreglass kayak at nearly double the price. Hope this helps
@@SlippyLimpets thanks :) Love your videos (love places - I am envious! - and that you don’t use music, no need of it when you have rocks and waves. I watch them and relax imagining my next time to the sea!)

I have a tape measure from UKBASS.COM that gives fish length to weight. I'll list some info below. I'll leave it there if you need bigger sizes get yourself a tape from their website.
Thanks for the info. I've used measures like that before but, maybe it's the areas I fish, they tend to be well out. Just a few weeks ago I landed a fish at 58cm but weight 5.7lb. So, tend to ignore those measures now. Point taken about the weight I mentioned in the video though, I used the fish I mentioned above as a benchmark, but it was probably closer to 3 than 5! Tight Lines👍🎣
I know mate, one of the problems of being a catch and release angler I guess. I might start keeping one or two more just to get the practice in. Tight lines
@@SlippyLimpets I’m catch and release too so don’t do it often these days, but if I was there I could show you he he, leave the head on to hold the fish for a start don’t need to remove it from the frame anyway,

Small axe and split one of those logs you have mate, into many sticks. It'll make fire building a lot safer than using your gas canister. 🤣
