- A great day out on a beautiful Pembrokeshire beach in December, with calm dry weather and a very good low tide low tide.We caught and cooked Edible crabs,Velvet Swimming crabs,3 Bearded Rocklings,Winkles and Whelks on a wooden "Solva" stove.
I appreciate how you implement the idea of "don't take more than you need" that says a lot about you as a person itself, much respect to you and happy foraging 👍.
Thank you Chanko, conservation is of paramount importance. In Wales the licensed commercial Cockle fishery works on the premise that a third of the resource is for the birds,a third is for species reproduction and the remaining third can be harvested ,Kind regards Craig.
Are you referring to 7:23 in this video? Lmao, dog ate it the second he returned the thing. XD
Llew doesn't eat the fish ,he just plays with it,he has a soft mouth and the fish was returned to the water,we only ate what we needed and returned many more fish/crabs,kind regards Craig
Chanko Nabe-His probably taking anything and everything off camera,I reckon he went back for that little lobster😉😉
Thank you for your kind words Alahyan, I have visited Agadir and Taroudant, they are beautiful places. Some of your tagines are delicious.Kind regards Craig
I like how the doggy is pretending he’s foraging too ☺️
That dog will never go hungry if lost by the water he is watching and learning
Oh yes ,he is learning EJ8 SEDAN ,he likes to get his nose in everywhere. Regards Craig.
Just needs to spontaneously grow some thumbs so he can lift those rocks and he's good to go. :)
If he's smart enough to learn then he'll probably never get lost anyways.
Hey that dog wasn't eating the crab and the fish
Yea, he will move huge rocks and boil crabs
"Put him back in, we don't need him" *Dog eats it* LOL
When?
Nope the dog didn't eat it
Yeah he did! Lol love that dog
Craig said that the dog didn’t eat it. He carried it back to the water I assume.
Q dijo
Chilling under a rock
Next thing your in a Fkn pot.

I missed the rock with the cous cous under it.
@Daniel Dutra Krasnowmy favourite
It wasn't really cous cous, it was just sand 😉
Lol lol
😂😂😂Good one mate. I genuinely laughed out loud as I was just thinking “Where did the cous cous come from?”
i have deep respect for this man,he knows how important every life is ,,so glad i could come accross this channel

Thanks Christopher,I try my best.
Lol lets put back the little fish cause we don't need him... Dog proceeds to eat him
Hi Brandon and thank you for your concern "Llew" has a very soft mouth and does not eat the live fish, they were eventually placed back in the water, kind regards,Craig.
I had a dog with a "soft mouth". I used to have a terrarium with a snake about the size of a worm. It would get out all the time and my dog was always the one to find it. She would play with it till I noticed it was the snake, and it never had a scratch on it.
That was hilarious.
LMAO
hahah nah let the dog eat some, thats adorable content hahah

Thank you pooweebum ,I hope to make and publish many more videos like this, kind regards Craig
You should make a business of taking people foraging for the say and cooking the food up on the beach
Tom Aitken I agree! I would be a customer for sure!!!
That is a fantastic comment MR99BIGMOE.I would emphasise that I am fortunate enough to have the knowledge of over 150 miles of coastline, which include various habitat types including sandy beaches, rocky shores ,estuaries ,sand dunes, salt marsh, mud flats etc .I will commence making a business out of my passion for the marine environment in the near future. It will involve taking groups of up to a maximum of 12 people. It will be focused on education and having a good time in the open air.If the foraging is sufficient to cook a small meal on one log to enable my customers to have a small sample (without having an adverse effect on the local ecosystem) ,then I see no problem .Many thanks for a great question. My website is "Coastalforaging.co.uk " kind regards Craig.
What a great idea, I have always wanted to go shore foraging to learn about these wonderful marine creatures but never had a chance. And the idea of cooking my own little catch is too exciting. I live in the desert.
They would all die.
@@housewifing_by_tram stay there safer
As I watch this video on my iphone in Canada while its minus 30 degrees celsius, I realize its the simple things in life that matter most. This was just brilliant. Cheers

i love all the " put it in the basket " parts
Good feedback saeshd,regards Craig
I love how the dog always tries to be involved. We don’t deserve dogs.
Hello to everyone else coming in from YT recommendations
What I love about most foragers is that they will put back the little ones to keep the population going and this man even puts back rocks into the same parts(water underneath for them to hide). It's amazing how much knowledge can be learnt, I hope one day I can have the privilege of learning from a gentleman like this. Reminds me of my farm upbringing, self sufficient and creative.
Great video and what a fantastic life your dog has with you on your adventures!
Welsh accent is beautiful.

this is cool, but the stump fire? thats what i wanna know how you made. im sure i can google it, but it was neat.
I believe it's a Swedish torch. Learned it in the video I watched right before this one. Crazy Russian Hacker showed us.
you chainsaw those little cuts in the logs normally you want about five, then you burn kindling on top and it will slowly melt into the log.
Delicious! Your foraging videos are very soothing to watch. Love them!
Oh how I'd love to go on a foraging trip with you two. Love how knowledgeable you both are, My stomach starts to rumble every time I watch your videos
Thank you Kornholio 1983 If you are unable to attend my courses ,then please enjoy my channel,I hope to upload around 2 or 3 videos per month, kind regards Craig.
That dog 😂😂😂
I looked in my backyard in found some snails and a lizard but the lizard was too fast so guess it's escargot with some grass.
Your dog looks so happy. That is how all dogs should be living.

Very inspiring, Craig. Makes me want to start coastal foraging.
You should try it Michael,it is really fulfilling ,regards Craig.
Wow! There's plenty to forage for! That's awesome, should never go hungry..
"Put him in the basket"
What are the size limits when foraging the beach in Wales? Here in Australia for instance, many species of crab can not be kept if they are under a certain size or are females.
Hi Jono ,thank you for your interest, there are many size limits and personal daily weight limits for conservation reasons here in Wales, this is all available online e,g, Lobsters with eggs(in berry) need to be returned .Kind regards Craig
Surely them Chancre crabs were under size. They looked very small.
Hi? Been watching your videos since last year,.. Done foraging when I was a child too,..
Finally got to see that cute pup get his share. I envy you lads. Magnificent.
"Llew" is good fun and company ,Thank you lad oreily, regards ,Craig.
