I appreciate this channel so much! Thank you for showing the cooking too, and talking about the parts of the specimens you are cutting up. Just so interesting and helpful. Love this channel!
Makes my evening when one of your videos is in my RUclips feed. I so enjoy them. I should be setting off again to south west wales one day next week in my mini camper. Thanks Craig.
I love watching this from the plains of Kansas, USA. We do beef, pork, wheat, and now cotton! No cockles or limpets or crabs here. I love crab! I’m so jealous of this life of yours!
I totally agree. Plus, we can't just go and forage like this. We have to have fishing license and forage a certain type at a certain season/months. And only parts of the coast is open for fishing/foraging.
I have a fishing license now and for California residents a year license is about $50 US, $5 more for an ocean extension. I ended up getting one for the grunion run, but will now more frequently go coastal foraging. Such strict laws here on foraging.
I’m in San Jose, north of Santa Cruz. The whole Monterey County is restricting mussels picking. I think clams as well. But I’ve gotta read the rules again. But Pacifica has an awesome pier for fishing and Dungeness crabs. I’ve got the annual license with second rod. Going fresh water foraging is pretty too, especially tiny green clams and signal crayfishes. Recommend you try them.
I learnt how to make one of them in scouts. U make cuts down the log towards the base, around 5 or 6, and then stuff the center with dry bits of leaves and tinder.

Never get enough coastal foraging. Definitely can compare the exotic similarities from sea to regular. Like the garlic, chives, spinach, salads, sugars, and other spices are extraordinary. Super thanks again. Much love. Lmao. Love the accent. Y'all are gorgeous. Many good days.
I love how he names all those different types of sea creatures and also adds abit more information about it..with just the sea he can definitely survive 💯
Hi Craig! I am loving your foraging videos. You have a really healthy way of life, many people could benefit from learning about. I used to catch prawns in Wiseman's Bridge as a boy.
Hi Craig! Glad to know the prawns are still there. If I was still in Wales I'd come down for a visit I think. btw I used to be on TV back in 1998 on In Full View on BBC Choice and here I am doing some coastal foraging in Ogmore. I wrote on the subject for Welsh Coastal Life a few years back too: ruclips.net/video/8UlZZmOA06w/видео.html
Yes, the quality today is amazing! That video of me isn't that good qualitywise cos it was copied from an old VHS video. Some others I had couldn't be copied. VHS is a thing of the past now.

Greatly appreciate the videos. I'm envious of the aquatic environment there. Here on the other side of the Atlantic there's just low tide and oyster rock.
Found your channel recently Craig and subscribed. I am in Oregon USA and love wandering the coast on minus tides. I haven't begun foraging for foods but the thought has always been there. Thank you for a great channel.
Welcome Insolent Stickleback,go for it,but make sure you learn all the safety aspects first. Your local coastline is the envy of the world, regards Craig
