Hi Laura! Glad to hear you are recovering well from your surgery. Isn't it funny how your body tells you exactly when to stop doing anything after major surgery especially? I am loving all your Sci Fi stitching this month. There are a couple Star Trek patterns I want to stitch for a friend, who is an even bigger Trekkie than I am. With us being 66, you know which series we started out with! I still watch the re-runs on TV and have recorded them and re-watch them frequently as well as all the movies and some of the other series. Great progress on your WIPs all things considered. Looking forward to your quilting video. Take care of yourself and listen to your body as time progresses. Happy crafting.

    Hello Laura! :)
Wish you a fast and good recovery from whatever surgery! It's nice to see you back and in a good mood, 'cause it gives the intention that the recovery is on a good path. :)
Loved to see your projects!!! I'm not into Star Trek, but also not against it. ;) So, for me it's cool to see what projects are out there for different fandoms. :)
For the books!!! Thanks for the recommendations!!! I love, love, love Jurassic Park, so it was great to hear about it from you. I consider it just fiction.... sci-fi for me is more about space, AI or the future.... but I think everyone has their own opinion about it. :)
Have you seen movie 'the lost world' or 'the forgotten world'? Can't remember the name at the moment... but it's from the early nineties, if I'm correct. Loved it very much.
For books I have two recommendations for you I really hope you'll give a try.
First there's Aurora Rising, which is a Trilogy by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff... it's hilarious, adventurous and thrilling at the same time. I love the characters, the humor and everything in between!!! Its written in a modern, kinda today conversational style and that makes it just a perfect fast read through. :)
The second one is also a trilogy called Vortex - The Day the World Was Torn Apart by Anna Benning. It's a german author and the publisher just has an english sample out at the moment, but I hope you can get that sooner rather than later out in the States, too, 'cause it's truly amazing.
Here for you the sample.... I hope YT gives it a shot. www.fischerverlage.de/verlag/rights/book/anna-benning-vortex-der-tag-an-dem-die-welt-zerriss-9783737342995
Here it's the suspense, the little love story, the feeling that one day it could be the same in the real world, even if that sounds strange, the elements that makes me believe in things we can't prove at the moment and so on, all these things are the reason why I love this trilogy so much. There's no time where it gets boring, even there isn't a lot of action in some parts in the book. But there's so much going on that you don't need shocking events non-stop to wanna read it through all in once.
So, enough from me... I wish you all the best and I'm excited for your Christmas in July projects. Worked on mine during watching your video, so it was like... hey... me, too!!! XDDD And I also give it just one week, but I devided the days... cause I'm not stitching every day.
    Cheers,
    Leezet

Love the murderbot series. The three body problem is amazing too. Have you read Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky. I loved its creativity.
