@@aaronh.917 Do you like it as well, has it been holding up well? I'm a bit concerned with the small toms, do you enjoy playing on them? Thank you so much.
How have you been liking it so far? Trying to get some opinions from people that have had the kit for a while now. Any complaints or regrets with getting it? Thank you so much.
I have the TD25..took a little tweaking but sounds really good..and not just my opinion but by other musicians and people at the gigs..I would highly recommend using a Direct Box. Allows you to play in stereo, and gives you the pan effect. Also you run XLR to the board that way makes a big difference I think.
The older rack has boom arms for cymbals. It has been discontinued but you can still buy the td-17 kvx at certain stores with the older rack. Look for MDS-4KVX drum stand. That’s the older rack. The new rack is the Mds-com drum rack.
Ernie I bought the 25kv about a month ago but I was within the return period so I brought it back and got the 17kvx instead. I'd never thought I'd be saying this but Roland actually saved me money.
If you’re buying it for the module the 17 is good. But some people that have bought the 25 prefer the upgraded trigger pads and sizes. At least the ones who have bought them from myself
Need help!!! when hit assign - hit rim - set sound I want- then go back to kit - the head and the rim have the sound I assigned, not jus the rim. What am I doing wrong?????
Hi James... Great video... Thanks! My question is.. Are there more "practice songs" you can download onto the module? I have the kv model and there are only 7 different ones. Also, can i stream (Bluetooth) and save songs into the module so that I don't have to always find them online? Frank
I have a TD-9KX2 with the VH-11 HH and additional crash and cowbell. I am considering replacing the TD-9 module with the TD-17 module (leaving all current pads). Good idea or not? Thanks
I'm thinking of getting the TD 17 but I want a couple of sounds from the Alesis Strike pro kit has, can I put those sounds on here? Does Alesis sell those kit sound's? How would I go about doing this? Thanks
After much thought and watching a thousand videos I ordered the Roland kit just seems to have better quality better or engineering and a more reliable name , also there more expandable but have great sound modules can't wait to get it in the mail thank you to all the people zZounds music supply a great source for struggling musicians to get their gear.
Hi, firstly sorry for my English.... For some reason the jack cable from my ride (bell) is not working not response. How can I change the settings to make the Aux output wil works like is the bell of the ride. If you have something else to fix it please tell me. 😜 Thanks
Question? My band has an x32 Producer from Behringer, Can I run a Td 17 via usb into the x32 and mix it there as a multi track. Meaning having the Kick on chanel 1, snare on channel 2 and so on? I don't need it all in one or two channels. If so I will run 1/4 inch to aux in's.
My question for this or any other edrum set-up is do you need a preamp or power amp before the mixer input? I'm just picturing a larger venue and and the ridiculous stage volumes of the other instruments and if straight out of the module is enough?
@@ananlama1 Find some drum cover tracks on youtube that are licensed for free re-use, and download them with something like 4K Downloader (works well). Then load that file into a DAW and export as a WAV file. Then load that WAV file onto your module.
I see others have asked the following but have not been answered. Is it possible to send separate audio for each pad from the drum kit to a computer through USB? (For multi-track recording of a drum performance to a daw in one pass.)
Hi. Mix volume can be easily adjusted by selecting the center button below the LCD screen. This should take you to a menu where you can adjust all of the volume settings for the mix. I hope that helps.
The bell ride is buried in the mix. can't hear enough of it. These module companies still hasn't solved that ride balance problem between the body and the bell.
I noticed this as well, my dude. I had a buddy with an extra pad so I just unplugged the bell TRS 1/4 male and plugged it into the new pad. It's a wonderful difference.
I didn't even take notice of this until I read your comment. Now that you mention it, it does look like a midget drum set compared to this guy. Enough so that I'm convinced I need to head into a Guitar Center to try these out before buying. A bit afraid this kit might be too small now. It really does look like a kids toy in this video. But I still want it, lol.
@@rolandedrummer9723 I'll be checking it out in a couple hours. thanks for your reply. Other than size, looks like a great kit. Just needs 1 more floor tom... to start :)
@@RADERFPV I got the td-17kvx. Still in the box. I'll modify it if I need. It was the best compromise for me. I looked at the yamaha ,but I wasn't feeling those pads. Great module though. That 26" bass drum kit sounds pretty awesome on the yamaha module.
Hi, Roland is td 17 and td 20 modules better than that of td 25 which is more expensive. U have not been fair to me. Example td 20 has individual outs... Td 17 has 3 eq on each instrument.... why Roland why Roland..... Td 17 has 50 drum kits ...td 25 = 18 kits why...... Very bad....
I always new a lot of people who jumped in to buy the td25 when it first come out would live to regret it and i suspect those who do the same with this td17 will also ending up learning a valuable lesson. Roland say's it has listened to what customers wanted, they clearly haven't. With so many new companies entering the ekit market Roland really need to up their game and really start giving the customers what they want like individual inputs, bigger toms, bigger cymbals and an optional full size bass drum that doesn't bust the bank like the over priced one they have offered.
Picked this kit up yesterday and it is an absolute beast. I love it! This video helped me figure out all the module’s awesome capabilities . Thanks!

plzzzzzzzzzz help me. I have bought Roland TD 17KVX a week ago. But I am not understanding, how to record drum tracks
You'll notice that he says you'll notice way too many times.
wide awake you noticed!
Don't they need to played with an amp, pa system or some type of speakers?

Anybody have any info on recording one into a DAW? Stereo sound? Is there a way to split the tracks into a mixer?
Plug a TRS going out of L and R of the TD-17 into something like a Zoom H6 or a H4 then use the Zoom as an audio interface. There's your stereo mix!

You can go directly to the mixer with nothing in between, volume can be boosted from the mixer if needed. The module itself acts like a preamp.

Bro how to copy drumless track on SD card and play through module

Whats the "-S" for in "KVX-S"? I notice some have it and some dont.
It's just part of Roland's part number that signifies "Set". Some people include it, some don't.
