I used to envy the big mansion owners, until I had a friend who lived in one. There were NINE bathrooms (for two people)! The place was huge, and beautiful, but they had to employ a ton of help, so they were rarely alone, ever. They had maids, housekeepers (to boss the maids) a cook, gardeners, a driver to take care of all the cars, a laundry lady, an assistant to do errands, a secretary, and so on. The place was packed with strangers all the time. They ate out almost every day, so the cook never did anything but make little snacks because no one actually ate there. The place was so starched and scrubbed that sitting on the couch was a risk, because if you leaned on a cushion and got up, someone would be right behind you, patting that cushion back to perfection before you even got out of the room. It was unbelievably uncomfortable to be there. Of course, all these people were making good money, so there were spats, cliques, complaints and wars among the hired hands, which made it even more awful. Yes, it was beautiful, but forget it! When my husband and I inherited an old family home we booked out of our 500 sq. Ft. Apartment and set up in our own "mini mansion". I took care of it myself, which almost killed me, so now, after 25 years, I'm ready to live van life or just stay in motels for the rest of my life, taking care of a place can just be a headache, we had fun, but I'm done, downsizing is the new chic, imo....
Agree. No matter how wealthy I am, I'll always be an apartment person than landed house or mansion person. I dont like to have neighbors though but modern apartments are getting more and more privacy.
@@seabreeze667 My husbands dream life is to live in a nice hotel...it's kind of a Texan thing. The owner of the gigantic King Ranch spent the last 20 years of his life living in the Menger Hotel in San Antonio. He was older and often ill, and wanted to be near doctors. The ranch was way off in the middle of nowhere, so he made himself a home out of a big suite upstairs. After he died, he started haunting the place! His beautiful suite of rooms was kept the way he left it and you can stay in it. I'd love to live there! It's so beautiful and right on the Riverwalk, which curves for miles and miles through town and out into the country.

I'm from the UK and everytime I hear 'bungalow' I think one floor and no up and no downstairs. I'm disabled and can't get one so live in a 3 bed home and have to use a stair lift that's so slow I wish that gremlins would put a rocket on it lol.

It's important to find a home that you feel comfortable and happy in.
So far, these houses i wouldn't even step into.
It sounds like you have high standards when it comes to houses.
Don't worry brother , they won't let you.
It is awesome to go to Singapore for vacation
Why ? It’s horrible here
The “Rarely available jewel” is more like it. The first two are more like a very expensive 6 star hotel.
Truly beautiful art looking house.
