I’m so happy for yOu and your Dad!! Wow these memories will last a lifetime! Your attention to detail is spot on, Can’t wait to see the rest of the assembly of Carl’s Heart ❤️ 🧰 🛠 🚗
Ellie, very exciting and fun to watch your restoration venture. I recently sold my 65 Mustang and one item that wasn't used is a rally pack that includes a 6k tack and a clock. It's really a cool look, however, not sure of its functionality. If you would like it, it is yours. Let me know, I will continue watching and have fun,
Don't think we'll be much help here, sorry. We didn't buy them separately but got them as part of a full engine master rebuild kit from the machine shop that worked on our block and cylinder head.
Did you find that you should have offset the rear main seal so that it didn't leak ?? I'm working on a 200 inline now. Head rebuilt, 264/264 cam finally arrived.
Hello I have had alot of trouble on my 250 crossflow exactly same bottom end. Need to know where you got the rubber rear man my engine rope seal is leaking like a sive
Sorry you're having those issues. I'm pretty sure we just ordered ours through Advanced Auto. Had to have them order it online but it seems to be working great
So exciting Ellie...this is the best part aside from starting the motor and driving the car. It's great to see you learning so much too....any thoughts on doing another car after this one?😊
I'm a new subscriber, I'm so glad I came across your channel, I have a 65 mustang with a 200 engine, I'm trying to replace the rear main seal. Like yours it was originally a rope seal, im trying to not take off the engine but the upper half looks like is not coming off. By any chance did you guys find a pin on the top and bottom that hold the seal in place?
Hello and thanks! We definitely did find a pin in the main cap (we had the machine shop hammer it out, but I don't believe there was a pin in the lower part. Hope that's helpful.
@@ElliesGarage thank you thank you thank you, yes super helpful, I finally got that rope seal off, looking forward to watching you and your dad tackle more projects on the falcon
We tried to look back to find our order, but are having trouble finding it. Pretty sure we just looked up a 65 falcon inline 6 rear main seal at Summit or Advance Auto. Sorry that we can't remember exactly where we got it.
I'm pretty sure we bought ours from here: www.themotorbookstore.com/1965-ford-mercury-shop-manual.html?cmp=googleproducts&kw=1965-ford-mercury-shop-manual&gclid=Cj0KCQjw59n8BRD2ARIsAAmgPmL0Gx4OZd1Sx08OkPZHwxe_faKyZrU7pIZVNsSiq9gaxnfJZw-RGoAaAiDgEALw_wcB
So meticulous!!! If I still had my Engine Shop.... I'd legit Hire You!!! You'd have to learn tolerances for 1000+HPI Engines.... But you have the right mindset! I've always insisted on RIGHT over fast. 😉 Carmine ✈🚂🚙
I am rebuilding my 1965 back to factory! Useing this as a good source

Did you replace the cam or just use your original cam.

We have put about 4000 miles on the engine and so far no leaks with that seal
Yeah!!! Great job
Wondering from u and ur dad's point if view.. how hard is it to rebuild the exact same engine with my dad??

@@ElliesGarage alright cool thanks for getting back.
Do you think you are going to become a professional mechanic Ellie?
So exciting Ellie...this is the best part aside from starting the motor and driving the car. It's great to see you learning so much too....any thoughts on doing another car after this one?😊
Thank you! I've thought a little about what to do after Carl is done, but I don't know yet. Doing another car would be so cool!!
Hey where did you end up getting the parts for the rebuild? I'm having a hard time finding a kit.
