How We Added Foam and Covers to Bucket Seat Base
Просмотров 2,2 тыс.2 месяца назад
I have been waiting for YEARS to finally change my 1965 Falcon's bench to bucket seats and now I'm one step closer! On this episode we install the foam and seat cover to the bucket seat base. It definitely wasn't easy, and it didn't come out perfect, but we made it work. Seat covers and foam purchased from Classic Industries: www.classicindustries.com/product/1960-1970/ford/falcon/parts/1001984...

My C4 transmission has had a slow leak every since we installed it and I think it's because we didn't install the original pan and gasket correctly. So, today we're fixing that. They didn't sponsor this video, but this is the gasket I bought and it seems to be working well so far: LubeLocker C4 Gasket www.lubelocker.com/products/ford-c4-transmission-llt-f0c4 I am an 18 year old girl funding thi...

I guess the key is to remove the upper control arm… that allows 😢clearance to re install spring and line it up with tool coming thru top of shock tower…then tighten spring enough to re install upper control arm… but the last tool was best...

One thing left out of context but is very important in this job specifically is that the replacement foam have no wire to attach the hog rings, in this case a good quality zip-tie is a great option, you can actually regulate the tension of the zip- ties, like button tuft basically.

There was a lesson there for me in the bulb adjustment. Ellie said use the pliers dad wanted to slot the screw. Ellie was making a decision based on what we need to do now dad was making a decision on what we can do for later. This is the dynamics between my wife and me. She thinks about what needs to be done now. I think about the later which most ALWAYS delays the process. This is why I gotta listen to her more. Good Job you two

Did you say your plan is to drive it every day? Are you putting in an air bag? I understand the love of restoring but you are restoring a 60’s vehicle with absolutely no safety features. Ask your Dad about the commercial with the crash test dummies, they did not survive. GMC started to introduce safety features such as seat belts and foam covered dash boards so that people would not die upon impact. Cars are made out of plastic so that they absorb the energy and the pieces fly off. Your car is made of steel and it absorbs all the impact and shakes you up like a sardine. Please do your safety research to make you a safe as you can be.🚘I know I’m over stepping my boundaries. Please drive safe.

Excellent work. One point I found with zip ties is to keep them slack while making adjustments. Once everything is good then pull them tight. The list wires fall into the slots and you can get a really good contour.

Perfection and good enough are the Ying and Yang of the garage. The trick is to find balance. You found the first try wasn't "good enough" second time you found something just a little bit better. Aligning up on the bottom helped. The end product showed success just a little better than good enough. Balance! PS. I'm 69 and I got a 65 Futura "C" code last January. I "Blame" you.Hehehe! Hope to meet you at the Nationals someday.

Perfection is the enemy of good enough, a phrase often used to describe how people can get caught up in making things perfect and - as a result - never get anything done. You got the job done and it looks good, Carl will be happy...
