You have embraced what it truly means to be a garage mechanic.... it's the potential to save a good chunk of money in the long run. Now tell your brother to buy a classic car to add to the stable.
That was very Kind and Generous of you and Dad to help your brother with his car. Looks like you had fun and thats the main thing when learning something new. I know he was pleased. Thank You for sharing your adventures.
You did a great job in your brother’s car. Working in other types of cars helps you broaden your skills and knowledge of being a mechanic. Don’t just work in one type of car and limit your knowledge and experiences. Learn everything you can about all that you can. That will help you to see all of the big picture vs looking at the world of cars through a straw. A straw only shows you a very small part of the world. Keep up your learning and improving your skills.
I do repairs and work on my families cars. They all appreciate it very much. I generally do it for the cost of parts. It’s a good thing to be able to help others out.
You did a really good job on brother's car . Change of pace is always good , so try something different . Your right the head lights made the biggest difference and they look great .
You are TRULY a car enthusiast. You have learned more than most “pros” learn in their “training.” You’re also the best sister anyone with a car could ever have! I hope all of you have the best 2023! Aloha!
Good Video ! I have polished my wifes headlights the same way. using a UV protectant as a final step to slow the fading. Others use a UV 2K clear paint that comes in a rattle can. Other cars are great, but love "Carl" because I have his distant cousin "lil' Red" ( my grandfathers car) sitting in the garage. waiting on its turn for resto.
I hope you give your brother an invoice for the work!! Trust me, if you do freebies, you'll have a long list of loved ones seeking out your skills and never have time for your own car
I’d have to agree with you on the light bars, although I’m not against them. Unless you’re a serious off roader who lives in the countryside with a dirt road to your house through a field, an LED light bar isn’t necessarily a must have. I use two (I believe 5 or 6 inch long) LED light bars on the front of my old riding lawnmower (a 1985 John Deere 112L (which to me is kinda like your Falcon a toy)) as the headlights because it didn’t come with headlights from the factory). I love watching your videos of you and your Dad working on Carl and cars in general. I just really admire it when women get into the world of automotive.
I'd like to see more content like this. It brings joy to others and increases your own knowledge. (& saves a bunch of $ too!). I'm just an auto enthusiast, and own at least 1 car from every decade from the 40s to 2000s, but worked on a car as old as 1921 and as new as 2020 (99 years!) for family and really good friends only. You see how things are different and the same. Really cool stuff!
My wife and I seen your your car at Holly Ford fest in bowling Green and started following you would have been cool to have said hi to you and your dad
I just stumbled on your channel … ive subscribed .. i really enjoy watching ppl work on old cars fir fun .. ive ben doing the very same thing since 1988 . Lol
This was a great thing to do, Ellie. Each manufacturer does things a bit differently, and how they do the same thing changes over time, so you'll learn a lot by working a variety of cars. Keep 'em coming!
You’re doing great work and I enjoyed your changing topics, now you might want to start thinking about what you really want to do in life, maybe follow a path 0:05 like Jessi Combs started, she was great at encouraging men and women to get under their hood and there have been lots of great women in Motorsports!
Hi Ellie! I started to watch your channel like 3-4 weeks ago, and i like it alot, great job! 🙂👍 I really enjoyed this episode and hope that you will continue to work on others cars and Carl, of course. Greetings from Sweden! Ps. We have alot of American Classic cars in Sweden, i guessing second in the World after the US. 😃
Good job you two! I'm curious to know how long the headlights last. Every time I polish my wife's car's headlights they seem to yellow back up in a couple months. I'm trying hard to not buy new ones, but that's probably is what will happen. Great video as always. Be safe!
Well if you want to start working on other vehicles now, I've got a Chevy LUV pick up that needs a transmission R&R, and a few other things. LOL. (Apparently I'm not above child labor). LOL Be safe!

Thank you! Yes, I have been telling Luke that for years now. Thank you for the support and I will be sure to let him know that you agree. 😉
Well done Ellie and Dad!
All of those jobs must have been so satisfying.
I bet Luke was happy.

13/16 will sometimes work for 21 and you can use side cutters to cut close to the fitting if your not saving the line
Great idea and thanks for the tips!
What a great sister you are. A bunch of small fixes can make such a big difference. Way to go!
Thanks so much, Tom!!

Absolutely love you working on other cars so long as you don't ever stop on the Falcon, 👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks so much, and you don’t have to worry about that. Lots more work still to do on Carl.
Me gusta Tus videos 👍
Muchas gracias!
Very nice work, great to see a family that loves each other so much. Glad the comments are turned back on. Great video as always.
Thank you! We have no idea how comments got turned off on the last couple of videos, but glad we got it sorted out for this one.
@@ElliesGarage there was a flag that said something about you being a minor and protecting you.

I’ll definitely never stop working on him. Just wanted to know if this kind of video was interesting. Thanks for all of your support.

Have you thought of adding an electric power steering to Carl ?
Thought about it definitely

Yes it will be good to see how long it lasts. There have been a couple of other comments talking about using 2K clear holding up very well.

You might as well learn the newer cars. Cause they older cars are getting few and more expensive. I like what you are doing.
Good advice! Thanks for the encouragement!!
I like your videos! You did a fantastic job on your brother's car. Do you plan to become an automotive technician when you finnish your education?
You are becoming a mechanic. Ever thought of eventually doing it for a career?
I'd actually like to study mechanical engineering
That brake rotor looks like it has been ignored for quite a while.
Yeah. Maybe I'll do a brake episode for him, too.
1st..
I can send you a 2010 Chevrolet pickup to spiff up!!
😂😂😂
*By the time my baby girl is 16, I'll be 59. I'd better start getting to work.*
Why isn't your brother helping 😕
Good job!
Thanks so much!
