What a day!! Offshore in my Bass Boat

  • This week I headed north to Mooloolaba with James from Barra Jacks Kawana, for an offshore session in the Attack. The weather wasn't as good as expected but the bass boat still handled the conditions fairly well.
The plan was to chase long tail tuna with stick-baits, as they had been surface feeding close to the coast in the previous few weeks. We did quickly try for some bottom species before the surface feeding schools started busting up but that didn't last long at all.
The day was very successful as plenty of fish were caught with some spectacular surface hits and double hook ups.

Nice video mate. Is that entrance easy to go through for an open boat 4.8m? Lot’s of complain of the sand bar on google and it is said some dredging works are on going. Thank you.

bloody awesome Peter, what lb leader where you using? First time I went out I was using 14lb and couldn't land a fish for many reasons not just leader. I now start at 30lb but not less than 20lb using Suffix Light Game Fluro.

Pretty sure it was 60lb Sunline system shock nylon leader mate. 40lb fluoro would be fine too.
