by looking at ur levels, you make the best ones out there
I want the volcano theme and the beach theme in dlc!
-In the volcano theme at night there would be a fireball rain
- in 3d world it would be the blue lava theme from Fort fire bros.
-the music could be fort fire bros. Theme or simmering lava lake theme
-In the beach theme you can control the water like in jungle
- but at night the water can carry you to the bottom of the screen, to the left or to the right depending of the game style.
-The 3d world Beach could be inspired by sunshine seaside and the music could switch between the ground and underwater version depending where mario is.
-At night in the mountain theme, a fog will come during 20 seconds every 30 seconds. Mario can make the fog disappear around him by spinning in smw and nsmbu or by using his racoon tail in smb3.
-The background could be the sunset on the mountains.
-The 3d world mountain theme would be inspired by the level called clear pipe cruise.
-the music could be double cherry pass
-in smw, the mountain theme could be replaced by a sky background with the ground of jungle theme
Oan_SMM the fog idea is dope dude! I still think that gimmicks should be able to be toggled off and I’m talking ALL gimmicks. We definitely need
Blue Castle theme (which SHOULD be the night variation)
Beach. Night beach would have tides of water that come in every so often.
Tower theme. Night tower could be reskinned
Mountain theme with the fog that appears in the evening is fantastic.
I still think we need a couple other themes as well.
Candy theme would be amazing (night variation would have a pink syrup that is really sticky like quicksand perhaps)
Universe theme with galaxies and stars and rainbows for world 9 or something. Would also have low gravity
Dark Van Gogh theme (SHOULD be the night forest variation)
Autumn theme (night variation could have gusts of leaves that blow in the wind)
City theme (night variation would have a heavy rainstorm like Odyssey)

Oan_SMM That’s a great Idea, I also had a amusement park theme idea and a research facility.
Amusement Park/Circus:
-At night fireworks are in the background and enemies would get a circus appearance and moveset
- 3D World can be inspired by the circus levels and have the Switch Block Circus music.
Research facility/Lab:
-Night will have your own placable security lights, which will electricute the player
-The music is a remix of the x fortress from paper Mario the Thousand year door
-Koopa Enemies will wear uniforms
- 3D world will have Cat bullet bills shooting from the foreground of caught by security lights, music is inspired by the battle arenas before the molty bossblob and histacrat battles.
11:03 this backround should have been the main cloud backround in SMM2 instead of you know, just clouds.
@Dry Boi It probably should’ve been, but the main cloud background in MM2 is much more versatile.

Mario maker 2 better get some serious dlc...I’m telling ya, I would be willing to pay serious dollar to get Mountain, Beach, & Volcano theme added, as well as new power ups, enemies, & game styles. Especially since just about every other game on the switch is getting dlc, it wouldn’t feel out of place to get dlc for Mario Maker 2. I’d be really excited to see new features

SonicRiccardi Same X3 except it makes zero sense to add content now because thousands of levels have already been uploaded including full small games. They would essentially have missed out on adding a mountain theme or an ice flower to their levels. Check out my “Nintendo is Getting lazy” for why this won’t work

I'm surprised how accurate some of these are to smm2
I think the main reason why smm and smm2 levels just don’t feel like nsmbu levels, is simply because of the zoomed in level. In the modern Mario bros franchise (wii and u) the levels are more open and we can see more level on the screen. It’s just way better. What would be cool is if we could have a customisable zoom-in bar.
Night Gimmicks
-Beach: The Ceiling is water
-Mountain: Wind blowing you either up or down
-Volcano: The Ceiling is lava
-Volcano Cave: Lava is replaced with a bouncy gelatin
-Ice Castle: The Floor is lava and surfaces are slippery
A revitalization of SMM1 with NSMBW tiling and powerups (ice flower, penguin suit, mini mushroom) is my dream. I'd prefer this over a NSMBW theme in SMM3 both because of how unlikely Nintendo is to use it over NSMBU and because of the NSMBW/SMM1 exclusive tech that was patched out in SMM2

Omg im so confused. The desert theme exactly the same as in SMM2 besides the ugly gap from SMM1at the beginning and the end. And the snow theme too.

nothing has filled me with more frustration than trying to watch a custom level showcase while the player is constantly trying to move to the music and risk getting hit, running out of time, or falling in a pit so incredibly frequently. I just wanna see the levels and themes, not poor controlling.
