      How about the Day time has the meteors by default (you can switch the intensity of the shower), and the night theme has the ashes of the volcano following you (like in NSMB Wii). I absolutely loved running away from the wall of deadly ashes

    Here’s what I’m thinking: “Theme Variations”
    Basically take themes that are similar to a preexisting theme and make it essentially a tile swap that behaves exactly the same as the theme its connected to.

      Actually most implemented themes are just theme variations and don't add new mechanics to the game besides the tileset and obviously the night mode. Here's a list:
      ground: ---

      forest: rising water
      underwater: water

      airship: camera tilting up & down
      snow: ---
      castle: rising lava and an axe instead of the flagpole

    The volcano is not a theme but it’s in the world maker but WHY IS IT NOT A THEME

    Here are 16 themes I want:
    Beach - at night the water has a left-flowing current
    Mountain - at night the screen is rotated 90°
    Volcano - at night there are meteors and the cloud platforms become deadly to stand on
    Inner Volcano - at night the lava has weird wave bump things like nsmbwii 8-3
    Autumn - at night the ground turns into sticky honey and you walk slower
    Savanna - at night there is wind
    Clock Tower - at night everything moves twice as fast except for the player
    Sky Castle - at night there is low gravity
    Sewer - at night the water is weird bumpy things like the lava in nsmbwii 8-3
    Ruins - at night gravity is flipped and there is wind
    Circus - at night everything is x2 speed
    Tank - at night there are meteors and low gravity
    Painted Swamp - at night the enemies are affected like they are in the night Overworld theme
    Haunted Woods - at night everything is dark
    Sakura Town - at night there is wind and underwater
    Japanese Temple - at night everything is upside down

    Here my masterpiece idea but i sure Nintendo wont add all:
    Theme we need for sure:
    -Beach, Volcano, Mountain, Tower*1, Custom Underground/Inside, Custom Castle/Tower.
    Extra themes that be cool:
    -Night Paint, Tank*2, Any 3D world themes, ANY THEME THAT EXIST.
    Extra fluids for each theme (Can be turn on and off in edit mode): Water, Lava, Poison, Acid*3, Quicksand*4.
    -Water: Day Forest, Beach, Underground, Castle.
    -Lava: Volcano, Underground, Castle
    -Poison: Night Forest, Underground, Castle
    -Acid: Underground, Castle
    -Quicksand: Desert, Underground,
    Nightime effect:
    -Beach: some Water waves
    -Volcano: some Lava waves
    -Mountain: if you fall you be on top and reverse same goes for vertical but left and right.
    -Tower: Not idea.
    -Night Paint: Reverse everying
    -Tank: Tanks will be point to you slowly and every 10 sec there shot cannonball.
    Custom Underground/Inside:
    -Backgrounds: Normal, Grass, Desert/Pyramind, Snow/Ice, Volcano, Cloud, Airship.
    -Extras: Water, Lava, Poison, Acid, Quicksand.
    Custom Castle/Tower:
    -Backgrounds: Normal, Outside, Underwater, Desert/Pyramid, Snow/Ice, Volcano, Metal.
    -Extras: Water, Lava, Poison, Acid, Quicksand.
    *1 Not sure how Tower theme will be work horizontally.
    *2 Not sure how Tanks theme will be work vertically
    *3 Acid: Will be new green fluid that you can be in but every 5 sec you lost power up.
    -like if you Fire mario and you in Acid you be Super mario in 5 sec, Small in 10 sec and Dead at 15 sec.
    -If you have star power then its wont damage you unit star power end.
    -Its based on Green fluid from Super mario 63.
    -Color will be light green and transparent like Water, Poison from SMB will be then Purple like other styles.
    *4 Quicksand: Will be new orange fluid that be name say, you be slowly going down unit you fail or stand on ground, you can get out be jumping.
    This is very very too much I know, but its be Perfect to add this all.

      Very cool, though I think you should take 1 damage instantly after entering the acid, then you take damage every 3 or 5 seconds (10 is too much for it to be a hazard). It would be neat if the acid slowed you down too.

      With thing you take damage when you enter seen like good idea but:
      i will be have idea for level when small mario enter Acid and fast find safe place then enter again and find another safe place unit end.
      whitch with this thing i be must put Super Mushroom on every safe place whitch is waste of space.

      I have a different idea for Night Tank theme:
      A heavy downpour occurs, turning the Tank theme into the Battleship theme from SMB3.

      @@honeybee3483 A vertical area would look like you are inside a Tank, Battleship, or Airship. You can flood the room if you want.

    How about this:
    -Mountain theme/Candy theme in 3D World
    at night grawity increases so you can only perform light jumps
    -Beach theme
    at night there is a powerful current in the waters
    -Volcano theme/Blue lava theme in 3D World
    at night meteors come from the sky and you can set waves if you want
    Also I think they should give us the freedom to build jungle levels without water, same for the beach then. Also castles and Volcanos without lava.
    Together with the beach theme we get some water fountains like in NSMBU. They are available in all themes, however, in Castle and Volcano you can switch them to lava fountains, and in desert theme to sand fountains while still being able to place them as water fountains. And Nintendo can´t say water fountains in a castle are weird. The let us place Charwargs in the Ground theme too.

      There's a youtuber called The Hidden Chest that made some pretty neat night time suggestions for these themes. For example, Beach and Volcano at night could have water (or lava) come from above instead of coming from bellow like the liquids do in the castle and jungle themes, and the Mountain theme at night could have that feature from Mario 1 and Lost Levels that stops you from heading left on horizontal levels, and vertical levels can kill you if you fall (like in games such as Kid Icarus).
      Also, at least in my opinion, having the option to remove water from jungle and beach themes would take away one of their most unique features. Jungle would just become vanilla ground, and beach would just become desert. This feature would be good for castle and volcano, though, as those are unique and distinct even without lava.

    Beach: adjustable and rising water level; at night there's a current which direction depends on the style. Basically desert's sandstorm but in the water.
    Mountain: at night all enemies, items and gismos have reversed gravity. Basically Goombas walk on ceilings, Icicles fall up, etc.
    Volcano: adjustable and rising lava level; at night the lava is located on the top of the level.

    I think we definitely need more types of castles, and volcano and beach are something I would really like, and we need more water rising levels, especially for smb3 because ,well, that jungle isn't very pretty, Also the variations of ghost houses, ship and outside would be great!

    My ideas for four unrealesed themes.
    Mountain Day - Just mountains.
    Mountain Night - The rocks will fall down.
    Volcano day - Volcano. Lava.
    Volcano night - The waves of Lava. And you can control the high of the Lava waves.
    Beach day - Just normal beach. Sweet sweet water.
    Beach Night - The waves of water. And you can control them!
    Tower day - You can make a regular tower, or a castle with or without any Lava! (you can set on and off the Lava)
    Tower night - set Lava on: Lava will be on the top!
    Set Lava off: Rocks will fall upside down!
    I think my ideas is pretty good and cool. But, I hope they will make at least a DLC's with these themes.

    I think it would be cool to combine two themes with each other
    I.e - Underground Desert, Underground Volcano (like that one level in NSMBU)
    Or have two sub areas with two different themes

    Heres an idea, so what if each theme had an alternative version, dessert: mountains, at night will have blue lava, underground: sewer, at night is flooded and dark, forest/jungle: beach, at night will have waves, airship: airship indoors, at night will have that flashing light gimmick from bowsers castle in nsmb2, ghost house: painting, will be normal at night but during day it has a yoshi's island theme (except for in mario 1 style, it will be mario 2 themed), overworld: bamboo forest, at night will have fog, you can only see silhouettes, underwater: underwater castle, at night water will rise and lower, castle: volcano, at night will have meteors and lava waves, sky: mushroom world (ground is made of mushroom single pieces of ground will look like stems), at night will have wind and airships in the background shooting cannonballs at you, I couldn't come up with anything fitting for snow so I just put the train theme here, train will have well, trains, at night there is poison water and boats instead of trains.

      Snow: Frozen Underground. At night, there will be frozen water that freezes everything it touches. You can swim safely in it with a Frog suit, or a Dry Bones shell.

    The themes that I want to add to a new Mario Maker are:
    1- Beach
    2- Mountain
    3- Volcano/Lava
    4- Haunted Forest (Aka the outside portion of Haunted Houses)
    5- Tower/Fortress (which are Castles, but they are vertical and you can turn on/off lava or any liquid)
    Outside of that, it can be cool if we could mix two or more themes into one. And also have water/lava/poison in all themes and be optional.

    Possible conclusion:
    The more common of these themes could be added on to existing ones, so that they’re kind of the same thing.
    Nintendo has already released the last major update for SMM2, but I can’t imagine it would be too much work. It’s just a different tile set, background, and music.
    I really hate the fact that if I want a level with lava then it has to be the Castle theme, so I thought, “Why not combine them?”
    So that’s my idea! These extra themes can be paired with existing ones on the theme selection screen. So when you select a theme, an extra screen will appear asking you to hit left or right to choose between the two.
    Here’s what I’m thinking:
    1. Beach can be paired with Forest
    2. Rock can be paired with Sky
    3. Tank can be paired with Airship
    4. Volcano can be paired with Castle
    5. Ghost Ship can be paired with Ghost House or Water
    Finally, I think there should be different variations of caves
    6. Desert Cave can be paired with Desert
    7. Ice Cave can be paired with Snow
    Either that, or they can both be paired with Cave.
    Somebody please petition to get Nintendo to actually do this.

    What I REALLY WANTED TO SEE, was a Tower theme! Like seriously, have a tower theme could benefit the courses you make in so many ways, and there would be a boss at the top of the tower.

    So here are my ideas, I’m going to give each theme a night mode, an enemy and any other special effects the stage has on gameplay.
    *Volcano*
    *Night* : rocks randomly fall from the sky, and have a burn effect.
    *Enemy* : ka-bomb, an enemy that when ignited will chase you and blow up
    *Special gameplay effect* : rising and lowering lava
    *Mountain*
    *Night* : falling into a pit will warp you to either the top of the screen or to the sub area depending on if there is a sub area or not
    *Enemy* : fire chomp, an enemy that floats around and shoots fire at you
    *Special gameplay effect* : none
    *Sewer*
    *Night* : rising and lowering water with an air limit that kills you if you stay underwater for too long
    *Enemy* : swooper, the bat that swoops down to attack you
    *Special gameplay effect* : none
    *Beach*
    *Night* : rain falls which blurs the screen a bit, almost like the dizzy effect
    *Enemy* : skeeter, a spider that moves from side to side on the waters surface, add a mushroom and it will drop bombs into the water
    *Special gameplay effect* : rising and lowering water
    *Haunted forest*
    *Night* : changes to painted forest theme changing the design of everything, poison lake now has tidal waves
    *Enemy* : crowber, the crow that swoops down
    *Special gameplay effect* : rising and lowering poison
    *Ruins*
    *Night* : a giant statue appears in the background and will occasionally power up and shoot a beam of light, get behind a semisolid platform to avoid it
    *Enemy* : whomp, an enemy that stands in the background and waits for Mario to come near to crush him. Ground pound the whomps back when after he tries to crush you to kill him.
    *Special gameplay effects* : none
    *Tanks*
    *Night* : airship hand from NSMBU appears and acts as it does in the game, follows Mario and tries to crush him
    *Enemy* : Chargin Chuck, a koopa that has multiple different behaviours that you can change through enemy toggle; he can simply charge at you, he can throw baseballs at you, dig up dirt with a shovel, jump up and clap, kick footballs, or can move around by hopping.
    *Special Gameplay Effects* : none

      Maybe 1&2 themes will make it in dlc but probably not going to happen.

    That doesn’t make any sense,
    Aside from that I totally a agree with some of these. Personally I’d like to see the following theme
    1 Castle Variations
    This would primarily be just an ascetics thing, but maybe it could allow you to get the night effects of other areas, plus lava. As an example, the desert castle at night would get sandy wind, the sky castle would get space physics, water castle would at night replace lava with water, ice castle at night would give slippery ground, ect.
    2 Spooky
    This would be a better version of your idea of outdoor ghost houses. The update would of course come with crows and skull Goombas, which come back to life like dry bones. At night it could cause skull goombas to randomly spawn from the ground
    3 Ruins
    This them would be awesome, it would kinda be like a combo of castles and jungles, just without water or lava. At night it could add a fog effect, blocking out your screen like ghost house at night, but white instead of black
    4 Beach
    Would be similar to jungle, just lighter in theme, I have plenty of ideas for this but not off the top of my head
    5 Volcano
    A cool idea, would have lava and stuff as well as meteors as night

    Volcano, Mountain, Beach theme were in mostly all in the nsmb styles...
    SMM2: no new theme is in the update.
    SMM3: There will be new themes in the game

      Well actually the volcano theme was planned all the way back in smb3 when you look at the world 8 map. Except for the fact almost all the levels where just tanks and airships. the beach theme also originated in smb3.

    I think that there should be another option like the day/night themes, where you could have indoor/outdoor versions of each them. One or two of the level themes couldn't really have this, but it would still be really cool. For example;
    Underwater:
    Outdoor: what we have now
    Indoor: inside a sunken ship or submarine
    Desert Theme:
    Outdoors: what we have
    Indoors: Inside a desert temple/pyramid, maybe something like Dry Dry Ruins from Paper Mario 64.
    Jungle:
    Outdoor: what we have
    Indoor: Inside a giant tree
    Snow:
    Outdoor: what we have
    Indoor: A mountainside cabin

    Sky:
    Outdoor: what we have
    Indoor: the sky castle seen in NSMBU
    Ghost House:
    Outdoor: The Graveyard shown in the video

    My biggest problem with MM2 is how you can only use water/lava in certain themes, and you can’t get rid of it. You also can’t place it where you want.

    Although the lack of the volcano theme is sad, the SMW desert theme is a pretty good substitute. You can just add fire-related parts to it (podoboos, firebars, ect.) and it's basically the volcano theme.

    I think it would be interesting if each theme in the game had a Sort of "Sub-Theme", a bit like the night themes. For example:
    -The sky theme could have a sunset sub-theme like from nsmb-u
    -The ghost house could use the paint-style level
    The castle Sub-theme could be the volcano theme etc,

    The only problem I have with these is that each theme has to have a Night Variant that changes gameplay. Here are my thoughts:
    Daytime Volcano: Rains meteors during the day (you should be able to set the speed of meteors as well as where they can appear, or turn them off altogether.)
    Nighttime Volcano: (Meteors can still appear if you turn them on) Lava has waves like in Iggy’s Volcanic Castle and some other levels.
    Beach Theme: The menu you use to change the water’s height also has the option to place a Geyser.
    Nighttime Beach Theme: Water appears on the top of the screen. If the player is hit by a Geyser coming from the top of the screen they will knocked away.
    Mountain Theme: Semisolids behave differently. One causes Mario to slowly move along the side like in the NSMB series, another is one you can climb on like the rocks in Fire Fall cliffs from NSMBU, and one is a normal semisolid. In addition, Vines are replaced with Chains, which can swing back and forth when you grab on. Chains can be placed on tracks, and enemies and certain Gizmos will attach to them. Enemies attached to chains will make the chain swing according to their movement pattern. For example, a Goomba makes the Chain swing back and forth, but a Paragoomba or a Monty Mole will always make the Chain swing towards you.
    Nighttime Mountain theme: Low gravity plus Fuzzies at the bottom that behave similarly to lava. (In addition to the Daytime theme’s changes)
    Carnival Theme: Trapeze replace Vines, which basically functions similar to Chains except they automatically swing back and forth and only enemies with arms can be attached.
    Nighttime Carnival Theme: Behaves similarly to the Nighttime Ghost House theme, but you can see the Ground.

    Instead of too many unnecessary themes I think we could have "theme sprinkle" so what I mean by that is is kinda of like combined ice and castle for example you get a ice castle or combine jungle with a cave would be a temple

    the fact that the volcano theme for world maker exists yet there is no volcano theme in the course maker makes it feel like something is missing and its obvious. Its just so stupid how Nintendo used all their time to make sky, snow, forest and desert themes yet they didn’t make a volcano theme. I hope it is added in the third game.

    At night there could be the background train the drives by and shoots homing bullet bills from it
    Mountain
    At night there would be less gravity for Mario but more for enemy's

    So at day you could be able to fly but gravity could also switch around making it so you can fly but then it will randomely go back to normal

    At night it will have lava when in day it won't
    Graveyard/outside ghost house
    At night there could be a strong wind
    Like the sandstorm
    Except Mario can fly too
    Carnival
    At night enemy's and Mario will be faster
    Sweet/candy
    At night enemy's can fly and there could be lava like the lava from the luncheon kingdom
    Ancient
    At night Gravity will lower for all characters
    Ghost ship
    At night there could be water and the rain could make it slippery like night ice theme
    Japanese house/japanese castle
    At night there would be fog where you cnat see walls but Mario and enemy's shadows can be seen
    However the fog will clear for a few seconds whenever you groundpound or a thwomp hits the ground or something of similar fashion
    Blue lava castle/fortress
    At night it will be dark just like water night and ghost house night except Mario has low gravity and can jump higher

      Graveyard: It's the opposite of Night Ghost House, Mario and other items are hidden from view

      I think the factory theme could be acid.
      Acid is like poison but instead of killing you instantly, you have a limited amount of time to stay, kinda like water in the 3D games.

    I was thinking that instead of adding separate themes, that there could be theme variations that act the same as the original! I've got some ideas:
    OVERGROUND -> AUTUMN
    For SMB + SMB3, the terrain blocks can be a scarlet color, while for SMW, NSMBU, & SM3DW, the grass can be red and the ground yellowish. At night, there can be bare trees and fog in the background , with the terrain blocks going grey. The goombas could possibly wear pumpkins on their heads too.
    UNDERGROUND -> CARNIVAL
    Bare with me here! The terrain blocks can be a yellow tinted version of the overground terrain blocks. The semisolids could be similar to circus tents (excluding SM3DW). At night though, it would be like you are inside a funhouse (mostly because the screen is flipped).
    FOREST -> BEACH
    This is pretty straightforward, as the only thing really changing is the background (in SMB3 the terrain will turn into the desert's terrain), transforming them into palm trees. When the sun goes down though, the beach would be littered with trash, the background filled with smog, and the water is turned to deadly oil.
    DESERT -> MOUNTAIN
    The daytime variant will basically look like the day underground them but turned red instead of brown; while at night there would be a sunset, tall rocks in the background, and the terrain will be the same as the daytime terrain.
    ICE -> SPRING
    In SMB + SMB3, the terrain blocks are going to be lime colored with pink hills in the background, while for the others, it will be the overground terrain with pink trees in the background. At night the terrain will turn muddy, so it would be as if your slipping on the mud (perhaps it could be raining).
    SKY -> CANDYLAND
    Day would have the terrain be like cotton candy, the semisolids like candies, and the background with cakes and candy cane. At night you would be inside the cake.
    WATER -> SHIPWRECK
    The day background would have broken masts and (for SMW, NSMBU, & SM3DW) parts of the ship, the terrain being wood pieces, and semisolids like ripped sails. Night would be as if you are inside the ship.
    GHOSTHOUSE -> TEMPLE
    Daytime would be like ruins, and night would be inside the temple (maybe with gold in the background too).
    AIRSHIP -> TOWER
    Daytime would be inside the tower, tinted green. Nighttime would have you outside the tower (similar to the sky castle).
    CASTLE -> VOLCANO
    There would be more volcanoes in the background and the terrain would be like burnt granite. Night would have a lot of smoke coming out, and the sky going a dark indigo.

    Mountain: N turns rainy and makes everything heavy
    Underground Ice: N makes everything slippery and heavy
    Underground Desert: N makes everything semi-dark (still dark but you can see more than ghost house at night)
    Underground Volcano: N makes lava have waves
    Sewer: N turns water into poison with waves
    Train/Tanks: N makes the vehicles move faster
    Outside Ghost house: N makes everything dark but lightning will occasionally strike making everything visible

    What if we could mix themes. Maybe mixing castle with jungle would get volcano theme. Maybe mixing sky and desert would get mountain. Maybe we could use a jungle and castle mix to accommodate a jungle world in our super worlds. It would eliminate the need to make only designated specific themes

    They could add the tower level theme since vertical levels exist now too. It could also add the special double boss doors as a warp door skin, like the key door and p switch door.

    The autumn style is similar to the Forest level, but is aesthetically more pleasing. It could be that similar to being able to change ghost house to outside, change forest to autumn. Another theme is the tower theme, It is similar to the castle but no lava and more Grey. Together with Mountain, Beach, Pipe, Air Castle, Tank, Canvas, Outside Lava and Outside Ghost level themes, those I really want in the game (a lot, I know, they're all my favourites).

    -Desert underground: Just a different tileset
    -Ice underground: Different tileset, icy water and different background
    -Beach underground: Water. Just water.
    -Jungle underground: Poison and different tileset
    -Mountain inside: Dark and has water
    -Volcano underground: Eerie music, different tileset and Lava waves

    Mountain themes nighttime could be volcano theme.
    The beach night gimmick could be water geysers.
    Underground sewer nighttime gimmick could be flipped upside down.
    Nighttime gimmick for circus could be everything going in 2×speed.
    If they put mountain and volcano theme differently then mountain nighttime could be 90°(right angled)tilted and meteors.
    Volcano nighttime could be lava waves and meteors.
    Please don't mind my english as I am an indian kid.

    How about a new placeable item called the fireball which is well, a fireball. It looks like Bowser Fire, but you can change the size and direction. It explodes once it comes into contact with any surface, enemy, or the player, and the explosions can break bricks and hard blocks. The reason why I commented this HERE is because its appearance changes from a fireball to a meteorite in the Volcano theme.

    No clue why I’m commenting 2 years later, but here I am.
    There’s four themes that I think should absolutely be added as their own individual thing. Those are:
    Tower
    Volcano
    Beach
    Mountains
    There’s other themes that you mentioned that I’d love to see as well, but there’s a lot of themes brought up that are more or less combinations of other themes. So… what if for a SMM3… we had the option to combine them? The functionality really just allows us to get more themes, but it’s a creative way of going about it. Here are some examples:
    Starry Night theme from NSMBU: Ghost House x Jungle
    Regular Ghost House outdoors: Ghost House x Ground
    Sky Castle: Sky x Castle
    The bajillions of underground variations in the NSMB games: Underground x Desert, Snow, Jungle, Volcano, etc.
    The cool haunted ship from NSMBU: Ghost House x Airship
    There’s some combos that wouldn’t work (like Ghost house x Castle) but the game could just say those themes don’t mesh. Again, I’ve listed the four themes I want the most, but if we had the ability to combine themes together, we could get every possible combination that Nintendo has put out in the Mario games that we haven’t been able to access.

    I think that for the Mountain Theme Night gimmick they could make Earthquakes, and some rocks fall randomly from the sky from time to time, the player is warned by a screen-shake.

    My Personal List
    --------------------------------------------
    Beach - A pretty basic style. It would have Rising Water just like the Forest Theme. Nighttime would make the Sand turn into to Quicksand.
    Painting - A theme entirely based on Painted Swampland. It would have Rising Poison. The Nighttime Version would make the Poison much stronger, making Fire Piranha Plants or Poison Cheep Cheeps have much more poison on them. Bone Fish can also survive in the Stronger Poison.
    Mountain - It probably isn't too hard to explain this one. They work just like the ones in the New Super Mario Bros. Games. A special trait with Spikes in this theme is that they will allow you to make them throw Forward or down at the player, just like all the Mountain Levels. Obviously there would be ledges you could limb on (probably not in SMB1 though, but maybe). Nighttime would cause enemies require double the hits to take down.
    Volcano - A theme with rising lava. It would be very similar to Castle, however there is no Axe at the end, instead finishing with a regular Flagpole. Nighttime would cause a Meteor Shower, not unlike the New Super Mario Bros. Games.
    Battlefield (Not in 3DW) - A style inspired by the final tank of SMB3 All Stars. Unique to this theme, there would be two variants of the ground/slopes. One for standard geometry, and the other for Tanks. Conveyors would look more like the wheels on the actual tanks, and would attach to ground seamlessly if placed under Tank Blocks. It would also be in a forced Autoscroll if Tank Blocks are in the level. Nighttime would cause enemies to attack at twice the rate (so Bullet Bills would attack at half the wait time as an example).
    Tower (Only in 3DW) - A level inspired by Fuzzy Time Mine. It would look identical and would probably have a track very similar to the Underground segments of Super Mario Odyssey. The vertical Sub-Area would have rising Fuzzy Hoards, just like Fuzzy Time Mine. With this theme they should probably add the Bounce Pads, as they were prominent in FTM and 3DW in general. There would be no Nighttime, as 3DW doesn't actually have Nighttime.
    Candy (Only in 3DW) - A level based on the Candy Levels in 3DW (such as Double Cherry Pass). As a bonus, the Goombas in this theme would be replaced by Blocksteppers, an enemy that first appears in DCP.

    When I first got Mario Maker 2 at GameStop I asked a person who worked there “why didn’t Nintendo add the mountain theme or the beach theme?” And he said “because they wanted to add the rest for later Mario maker games.”

    It would be cool if you selected the ghost house theme the goal will be replaced with a door that leads to outside the house where the goal is and it's classed as a sub area.

    You mentioned Sky Castle and Outside Ghost House themes but didn't even think about sand caves.

    I think that the volcano and beach themes should be in smm3, but another cool idea is that you could combine one theme with another to have properties of each one, here some examples:
    If you combine the snow and volcano theme, you would get a snow wasteland in the middle of an avalanche (the avalanche would be similar to lava).
    If you combined the beach theme with the night desert theme, you would get a beach in the middle of a huracane.
    If you combine the forest theme with the volcano theme, you'll get a forest fire theme with unstopable fire replacing lava.
    If you combine the castle theme with the sky theme, you'll get a castle without lava in the sky.
    (And the last example) if you combine the castle theme with the ground theme, you'll get the tower theme.

    A nice theme is probably those levels that are mountains combined with water, and it has those grey tall hills in the background with grass on the top. Usually those big purple fish are in those levels.

    One theme I want is the prairie theme! At night, you can’t get hit by enemies, but you can still collide with them!

    After watching this video the more I seriously think Nintendo doesn’t know the basics of a level editor.
    The creator should be able to have freedom and have a toolkit of many different options. You should be able to change the background so you don’t end up having levels that seek repetitive and uninspiring. Why not have different background variants for each of the level theme: like a sunset grass level or one at night. You should also be able to pick whatever background music you want from different Mario games to play in your levels and not dedicated to their corresponding game. How cool would it be to have the Super Mario World cave theme play in the NSMB U Underground theme.
    I completely agree 100% with every thing you’ve said it’s super baffling.

    The painting should’ve been the jungle night theme
    A. Poison water
    B. It’s literally like the starry NIGHT painting
    C. It actually has trees and stuff in the back instead of the same boring backdrop of stars

    The blue lava Castel could be an ice Castel, in Mario 64 in the snow level (the one in the mirror room) is an ice bully with very cold ice or something

    Factory:
    At day it will have a purple background and blue ground tiles.
    At night, it's the same, but there's no light on.
    Spike Tops will become Sparks, an electric black ball circling the platform.
    Keys cannot be normal keys, but cursed keys. Picking one up summons a Phanto.

    I really hope that they make a Mario Maker 3. They can't just give up on it everyone has at some point wanted to be a level designer for the mario series (if they like Nintendo)
    Not only that but there is just something about it that makes it so memorable. I can't explain what.

    They need to take out the "building" themes like Castle, Ghost House, and Airship, and convert them into elements that players can layer onto the other themes. For example, using airship tiles in the grassland makes the tank level easily.
    This makes 90% of themes in this video doable and simplifies the amount of themes in the options. Plus, it gives players a way to build houses or buildings in any level theme without making look forced.
    It could also open up room to add in the Beach, Mountain, and Lava themes. (They'd need lava to make traditional castles work.)

    I wish there were more sky themes like for example: in new super mario bros u there's a level with the bowser hand (edit: the name of the hand is mecha hand) . The background looks really nice
