You are not too old to start your career in cyber security. Let me know what other comments and questions you would like me to answer about cyber security jobs and learning requirements.
Hi .. I'm one who is looking for job shift from Office Administrator to Cyber Security to make my resume added skill doing PG in Cyber security. Can you please give some tips to make me happened.
@@sheejarajamani9560 I took a non-profit program to learn about technology. Key were the skills I gained, and the professional connections I made. I would suggest to also create a home lab to implement your skills, volunteer, and perhaps offer a small cybersecurity-related service through freelance sites like Fiverr. That's good experience you can put on a resume.
Thank you for sharing your story! It's inspiring to see someone pursue their passion and find success. Keep pushing boundaries and enjoying what you do!
Please elaborate more on your story. The steps you took, and how did you land your first job. Everybody got the Google Cybersecurity Certificate but can’t get a job, not even interview. So, it would give us hope to hear your story. Thanks in advance.
I’m 27 years old working as a administrator coordinator in the mental health care field, also worked in retail jobs! Watching you made me feel better about not starting from scratch but adding to my skills to succeed 😊 THANK YOU!!
I’m 59 and have been watching RUclips videos on Cybersecurity for about a year now. I did 20 years as a train driver and now 20 years as a decorator. Ive decided that GRC is the way I want to go. So I’ll do a Certificate and virtual internships to gain experience. See how it goes and then hopefully a couple more certs after that. I’ve also just joined LinkedIn to read articles and read posts to gain more information
What areas in the field, if one has worked in the legal field +20 years? I know all the rules and regulations of the courts in NY, with the processing as a paralegal/clerk. I am looking to change my field. How can this and my knowledge be helpful in the cyber security field and the AI field/security?
Hey, great question, here are my thoughts: Your extensive legal experience gives you a strong foundation for cybersecurity roles focused on compliance, legal regulations, and risk management. With additional training, you could excel as a data privacy officer, ensuring compliance with regulations and minimizing legal risk. Your attention to detail and process-oriented skills from the legal field also translate well into cybersecurity operations, writing security policies, and performing audits. Look for cybersecurity roles related to compliance, governance, and legal matters. Your legal expertise gives you a unique head start to add cybersecurity skills onto. I hope this is helpful 🌸
Recently I graduated with a First Class Honours BSc in Cybersecurity, and so far all jobs I applied they need people with 2-3 years of experience... Not that easy to start yet, and I'm under 40. I'll keep watching, searching, and applying. Any advice? :-)
Hi, congratulations!! One of the biggest frustrations is that there are still entry level roles that have these ridiculous requirements. One of the key recommendations is to build your profile on a platform like LinkedIn and Network like crazy. Most are getting into entry level roles now by networking with hiring managers and recruiters.
Hi how are you doing, nice content you putting you out. Thank you, i am currently 22 years old and it feels like time is running out. I really need to build a career in cyber security, but now might do a diploma in Information Technology due to some pressures and l am a foreigner in the current land l am in. So now l should do that diploma to attain a study permit and to be participate in certain functions. l want to know would it be beneficial to do this diploma and then proceed to cyber security, because currently l am working on attaining S+ certification while working to be able to pay for it and also doing Microsoft Security Certification but now I'm still at fundamental level. Can you please tell me what you think?
Hey, In understand the pressure of the situation, also being 22 you are only starting and have a lot of time to still pursue multiple study options. I think you can absolutely go from the diploma into cybersecurity by adding skills and certifications, also check out the new Google Cybersecurity certification, it's a cracker! you can apply for financial aid for each module and get a discount for security + : imp.i384100.net/cqgoogle

Does industry require cybersecurity experience per se?
It depends on the specific role and company, but having cybersecurity experience is definitely a valuable asset in today's digital world.
Curious to know, is your connection and services mainly just for females or do males also have the chance to learn from you?
