This video itself much better than any Cybersecurity roadmap tutorials. I myself want to be good in this field but i'm too lazy watching this video felt like u were talking straight to my soul. Thankyou for reminding that watching videos isn't enough. Also thankyou for making this video I didn't know that i have to hear this
Straight to the point. No flush, no flashy stuff, no ads, nothing to be sold. Like a father who is speaking straight to his child, firm and to the point. Thank you sir.
I've been exploring Cybersecurity as a career recently and I was just looking for information about how to get into the industry. Saw this show up in my feed. Amazing timing!
Yeah the cybersecurity career entry means you have to work shit pay in I.T. as entry it’s not easy as they say so keep that in mind. Most vids are for clickbait’s.
@@KR1SR1GH7when he says “fundamentals”, what is the best way/place to learn these fundamentals about computers and how they work and how things like ip work, of course i could just ask ai but how do i make sure im not leaving out any of these fundamentals?
This is BY FAR my favorite video. You have clearly demonstrated your skills in your past videos. You do amazing stuff and break your videos down to simple tasks. In this video, you are just chatting with us. You and I have pulled up a chair and grabbed a beer, and we just talked, one friend to another. It was a fantastic video!
First off, thank you for keeping it real. I'm just learning about I.T. Second, based on your content, I.T. isn't a destination. It's a journey of continuous learning and experience. Keep upwith the content. I highly appreciate your honesty and realness. Thank You!✌🏾
Treat those words like they are written in stone -- there is always a light in every generation that speaks words as true as Mr. Hacker Loi. Every generation saves the next, earlier we had a much harder time to get access to anything you have access to today -- be what you want to be -- Mr. Hacker Kwi -- "What's a Starbucks"
I feel like I needed to see this video. I don’t have a formal CS certification, but I’ve dipped my toes into the coding side via game development. To hear about the importance of fundamentals is a reminder to me of how I succeeded in my first endeavor, and it’s a huge wake up call. I remember playing around with nmap not too long ago on my home internet just to see if anyone else was on it behind the scenes and literally understood the concept of it much better that way than I did when it showed up in the paid course I’ve been taking. Experience definitely is key.
a video without music background is more beneficial and has a great impact to focus more on the content keep doing that we understand every single word you're talking about thank you for this
This video is really cool! I taught myself coding after finishing my civil engineering degree and have been working as a software engineer for 2.5 years. It hasn’t been easy-I’ve made a lot of sacrifices, read a ton, and spent my weekends on side projects. Recently, I interviewed and got an offer for a mid-level backend engineer position. I plan to work there for a year while I study penetration testing or ethical hacking to switch to cybersecurity. Thanks a lot! Could you also make a video about someone with coding experience moving into cybersecurity and what fields might be good for them? We’d really appreciate it! Thanks again!
Great journey man, I just have a question on what made you decide to transition over to Cybersecurity? Since you are already a mid level engineer aren’t the salaries and compensations usually the same especially if you make it to big tech and wouldn’t you just want to further your career and go up in ranks instead of completely switching to another domain you know i’m just curious but Good luck to you man
Question - why get into development when you already had a chance to become a civil engineer and potentially reach success? That’s a stable career unlike technology. I’ve been part of the IT bubble and once it burst, I got laid off (2nd time) it hasn’t been smooth ever since. I’m no cyber or coder but more so on IT ‘support’ per se. Unless you just really don’t want to build roads, drains, bridges lol.. I happen to work years ago at an engineering firm and I have family who are civil engineers. Though that time many years ago I got laid off for first time, civil engineering has stayed strong nowadays especially as you progress towards more senior level responsibilities. I assume you just graduated possibly and was fascinated with coding/security on the side? That’s amazing you were able to land a coding job, but with your formal degree (not IT) having a minimum Bachelors degree and maybe some projects must’ve helped with landing a role.
Mr Loi Liang Yang - you are simply outstanding in your chosen industry of ethical hacking. Thank you sir for making these excellent EH tutorials. Best wishes Mr Loi & continued success.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for these motivating words. I am an advanced beginner and know all the fundamentals, but I can't move forward on my own. As you say, just do it-it doesn't matter what the result is.
I recently started my journey and just jumped straight in, felt a bit suffocated and overwhelmed, but I really feel like this solidified that I needa keep pushing
Leo, I’ve been following your channel since the beginning, and your videos have always inspired me. As a migrant, life has made it hard for me 😢 to stay in one place and fully dive into learning, but your content keeps me motivated to pursue my dream of becoming a cybersecurity expert. Watching this video really touched me-thank you for everything you do. I believe in myself, and I hope to achieve my goals one day with the lessons I’ve learned from you. Keep inspiring us!
This was the a very good video, and honestly im guilty of alot of those things you mentioned I need to get my head straight and just go for it but I typically just are vieweing from the pond when I could be diving my way in. Will be taking your advise and trying to get more experience! Your were the only and first person I have ever joined for something I really want to get more knowledge about. Thinking about trying again and using it to push through
I am a 15 year old and i have a very keen interest in cybersecurity and i have been following you for quite a while now and by far this was the most helpful video for me in getting to know how to start. it would be very nice of you if you could suggest me some beginner books i could read from which i can have a better understanding of all the things you talked about THANG YOU.
This is why I follow Hacker Loi. No pie in the sky unrealistic depictions, no gloom and doom of never employment. You're balanced in your commentaries. Thank you, sir. I appreciate your candor mixed with the optimism that comes with earnest hard work.
This is first time commenting on something and it makes me feel like okay don't worry about the things which you can't control but make sure to give 100% and while he speaking makes me comfortable. Currently I am in my final year and worrying too much about getting placed and that too in my area of interset . This video give me comfort like a friend is guiding me in difficulties. Thank you
You make sense... far too much sense. I’ve barely scratched the surface, but I've drawn my map... my guide into the abyss. There's something wickedly thrilling about the unknown... the basics, yes, that's where I’ll begin. That’s my edge, my curse... mastering what others overlook. I’ll start with CompTIA IT Fundamentals, slowly, deliberately. Wish me luck, if you dare... though it’s not luck I’m chasing. The outcome stirs something dark inside me... it’s not for the money, no... but if the money comes, it’ll be blood-stained fortune. Share your wisdom, if you must... if it helps illuminate this shadowy path...
In the past few months I thought to myself, why everything I did is no fun like everything is fundamental, even when it's hard I know myself that everything will be easy if I know the smallest pieces that I do

I don't have a degree. Do you think a degree is necessary to be successful in cybersecurity? It seems like there's so many resources for teaching yourself that school is a waste of time. The only thing you get is that piece of paper.
What role are you looking for? I have a Software Engineer degree, but I'm not a fan of degrees and certificates. The short answer to your question is: No, you don't need a degree to be successful. Practice is way more important, in my opinion. Although, if you are looking for a position in a bigger company (where they have many applicants), HR will filter by degrees and certificates. If you don't have one, you are most likely out.
