    I love this pattern! I think I've made ten since watching this the first time. I learn differently and have come up with a coin trick, heads:start on black , tails: start on white hook before first black. I turn the coin over at the beginning of each round so I know after the two knit rows, where to start my next row. I adapted the pattern to use a solid color 80 yards, then switch to another solid color or multi color yarn. So happy to find your talent. TY

    Brilliant! You were so clear and not a clutz at all! I managed to follow what you were doing with the pattern and was able to make sense of it. I shall carefully watch once more and take notes and then it’s all systems go for this beautiful hat! At present I am finishing off a Winnie the Pooh hat and have managed to knit the nose and ears... now for the sewing on business! The other project after that will be to make a Santa doll. I have already made seven Santa hats for my kids and grand kids for Christmas (I hope they will wear them and not just chuck them in a cupboard!).

    I had to go and look up the word Toque, apparently it's just an American or Canadian word for a beanie.
    I thought beanie was American that was adopted by UK, I guess I was wrong. When I was in my teens it was known as a Benny after a character in a soap.

  • @MalaFiumanka

    I'm little confused by 1 knit knit 2 knit knit 1 knit knit 2.
    Do you mean you wrap 2 needles entire row, knit regular for 2 rows, then start wrapping 2 needles at needle 2, finish the row, knit 2 rows, wrap needles at needle 1 and so on?

    • @Megamcc
      @Megamcc 2 года назад +2

      I was confused at first, too. I think this is the pattern:
      Step 1. Pattern Row One - Start on needle 1 and wrap two all the way around.
      Step 2. Knitting Rows - Beginning with needle 1, knit two rows, but on the second row stop knitting after needle 45.
      Step 3. Pattern Row Two - Wrap two (needle 46 and needle 1) and continue to wrap two all the way around until needle 45.
      Step 4. Knitting Rows - At needle 46 begin two rows of knitting. After knitting two rows, stop after needle 46.
      Repeat the four-step pattern
      I hope this is correct. I'm going to try it today on a Sentro. If someone tries this and it's wrong, I apologize in advance. :-)

    • @LunaCat503

      I think because these knitting machines create a loose knit, so having one layer only would not be very warm, you would be able to see your hair through all the little holes when it’s stretched out on your head.
