  • My newest pattern tutorial for your Addi's & Sentro's.
    This is my original WAFFLE pattern which has been copied since even using the waffle name.
    But this is the original one..... by me....... Crafty Caz lol
    You know what Oscar Wilde said...“Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!
    I'll let you look up the last part of the quote 'cos I'm not sure that applies to me haha
    Please tag me if you make it, one so I can see your version and two so that others can pop in and partake of it as well.
    Anyway I hope you like it it's a 6 row pattern repeat which gives a subtle yet decorative design for minimal effort.
    For this adlt sized beanie pattern I cast on and knitted 4 rows plain.
    36 rows of the Winter Waffle Pattern.
    80 rows for the brim and the liner.
    You can adjust the amount of pattern and brim/liner rows to make for different sizes.
    I noticed on playback a couple of tucked stitches on my patterned part!!!
    Ooops, it doesn't appear to show on the finished beanie though thank goodness.
    Thanks for joining me once again and if you make the design please tag me.
    I'm on Instagram craftycaz33 and Caz Harris on FB groups etc.
    Many thanks
    Caz & the crazy critters

I just got a sentro for my birthday, and I want to make myself a knitted sweater. I think this pattern would be beautiful! But, I'm a big girl, I'm going to need to make panels to stitch together. The yarn I used was Loops & threads from Michaels, Aran Tweed, well mine came out really loose that it didn't look good at all because it was so loose that you could see the wrap yarn in the back. Is there a better yarn to use with this pattern stitch?

      @@quinbyl9997 Hi thanks for the question. Sadly I don't have a quick fix for a dropped stitch for the patterned part. I've had them myself and have not had much success in repairing it. That's why my beanies start with the pattern rather than the liner and brim as if in the case of a dropped stitch it's not quite so much to frog. Just learned about these knitting machines and I’m watching a few of your videos! I’m curious as to casting off. Does it matter how many stitches you threaded thru before you pulled yarn thru? I noticed you did one or two then a few more (5 or so). Does it really matter as you plan to tighten that thread anyway. Thanks! Ps - I do not knit at all. I’ve crocheted, cross stitched, and done some sewing but this definitely intrigued me. Love the pattern too!

      Hi Elizabeth, Thank you. When I first started I was asting off one stitch at a time which I still do starting off as there's not a lot of room with the first few stitches to do more. When I felt more confident I started taking off as many as I was comfortable with. This comes with practice I guess. I don't hand knit either these machines and flat beds are a Godsend. I've just started learning to crochet which has been a nice experience. Have a lovely Christmas Caz

      The video is more about the pattern as most people when they find my patterns have already made plain beanies so know the routine. But basically you feed one end inside the other so that both ends are together. Cinch both ends closed and tie together with yarn tails adding some stitches to secure. Hi Nalu. I don't go into detail on closing as it's more about the pattern than the beanie construction. But what I do is I feed one end inside the other so that both ends are at the same height. I then cinch the inner one closed and then the outer one and tie both tails together to secure. I'll then do a few stitches to secure and hide the tails inside the layers. Hope this helps. There are lots of videos on YT just for a plain beanie that you can check in on too. All the best and thanks for making this project. Cas

    I love Winter Waffle so much. I like doing more repeats of the pattern and less plain knitting so the end hat only has a narrow band on plain knit showing when completed. Also if you are using a difficult yarn and need weights, do your plain knit first and then the pattern.

      Hi Beth. Take a look at the end of the recent video Trailing Ivy Twin which shows full construction. But quickly here, take the plain knit end and pull it through to meet the patterned end (cast on and cast off edge together. Cinch up the inner tube, then the outher tube and you'll have 2 long tails which you can tie together. After that you can use one tail to add a few stitches and knots to secure further. Then hide any remaining tails inside the layers. Hope this helps. Caz

    Hey @craftycaz. I tried this pattern just now and it’s t is not coming together. Simple rows go fine on the machine. One pattern row also goes right but after that, the yarn that the needle has to remove in every stitch does not come off. In fact it starts collecting more and more yarn in every round and machine stops moving any further.
    I need guidance regarding this very problem that I’m facing over and over again. Please reply asap.

    • @craftycaz
      @craftycaz  Год назад

      Hi, I'll try to help if I can. Have you tried using another yarn? Sometimes yarn can play a part in plain kniting as well as patterns like this. The other may be tension. Don't wrap the pins too tightly but just have the yarn touching the pins as you wrap. Another thing you could try if the stitches are bunching is weighting the knitting down, or giving it a slight tug downwards every couple of rows to make sure those stitches are sitting correctly. Should work on 40 also but I've not tried it as yet myself. Hope this helps Caz

    Hello maybe I’m mistaken but I feel like the sentro is numbered opposite to the addi, and it’s hurting my brain trying to “convert” this pattern to my machine to figure out where to start and stop.
    I have the sentro 40 and all needles are white aside from a single black needle. The black needle is marked 1. To the LEFT is 48 and to the RIGHT is 2. Numbers descend as the needles move counter-clockwise. I feel like the way your machine is number is the opposite, is it not? Maybe I’m overthinking it 😅 but would really appreciate your perspective as I don’t have an addi to compare.

    • @craftycaz
      @craftycaz  Год назад

      Hi Janelle, The Sentro is numbered the same way as I use both. If you crank away from yourself the wheel moves counter clockwise and the numbers go from 1-48. The only thing you need to do differently is wrap the 2 extra pins the rest of the pattern will work out the same. Hope this makes sense.

    • @craftycaz
      @craftycaz  Год назад +1

      Hi The wrapping should be touching the needles only not slack but def not tight or you'll struggle turning the handle and could damage your machine. It sounds like the yarn isn't all the way under the hooks when you're wrapping which will result in the dropped stitch. Make sure all parts of the yarn are under the hook before cranking forward. Hope this helps
