I.ve just had my Sentro for a few weeks and am making beanies. Then happened to find your rutorial. I.m astounded one can create a beautiful stitch like this. Thankyou! Off I go now to try this😊
Excellent tutorial. I love making this pattern with alpaca yarn. I use the Sentro 48 for a bit bigger hat but the Addi King is my favorite as it flows nicely on a more complex pattern like this.

Ahhh finally! Someone who treats this as a loom and not just a plain knit machine! Question if you’re there though m’love… have you found any construction faults or sticky needles on your Sentro? I have the small version and it’s skipping stitches like crazy plus one needle in particular just shrugs off the yarn every round. I’ve got so many ideas for this machine but can’t tell if it’s bad luck that I’ve got 3 badly made machines in a row (different brands and this is the least faulty). I don’t want to spend yet more money on a machine if they’re just badly made.
Hi, I'm using the 48 Sentro on this one and so far no problems at all with dropped stitches etc. I do have the 22 Sentro but only used it twice, again no problems on those 2 tries. The 40 needle one I have, another story, not so good, very noisy and not such good quiality. Some knitters use weights to help keep the stitches on, and even something like a pan lid in the centre to keep the pressure evenly around the bed. At the moment I'm using Addi machines more, and I have to say although still all plastic the quality is much much better. Another idea could be yarn choice, some machines don't like certain yarns no matter what we do. Hope this helps a little. All the best Caz
Had a lot of fun with this pattern. Thanks so much for sharing your tutorial. Won't lie -- it was about more concentration than I could keep up with, but it turned out beautifully!!
Thank you for posting such an inspiring video and providing such detail. I love your pattern and am just waiting for my alpaca yarn to arrive before I start mine.
Very kind of you Jan, so pleased you like it and it's helpful to you. Would love to see how it looks in the alpaca yarn so please tag me on IG craftycaz33. All the best Caz x
@@ArDeeMee it’s the math. The stitch repeat is 7 stitches, and 7 repeats gets you 49 stitches, which means each row is only offset by one stitch when using a 48-needle stitch. Theres no multiple of 7 that’s only one stitch away from 46, which means a 46-needle machine would have a different pattern. I agree that it would be interesting to try, but it wouldn’t do the same pattern. Instead, one thing that might be interesting is to try a 5-stitch repeat, which could get to 45 stitches per row thus also only offsetting each row by one stitch on a 46-needle machine. If anybody wants to try that out please let us know!

If you put clear fingernail polish on your knots, it makes sure that they can not come undone! I have used that technique when using plastice thread in jewlery making and other sewing projects.
Hi, I just re-stretch my beanies upwards. All beanies plain or patterned seem to bell out at the bottom once worn I find, but stretching should help a bit.
Don't worry about where you end up at the end of the usual row, just carry on with the pattern combo until you've done enough rounds for your project, then switch to plain :)
Is my math off or does that pattern overlap each row? There are 48 pins, pattern is 2 wrap, 2 knit, 2 wrap, 1 knit which is base 7 pins x 7 rotations to get to the end of the row that would be 49 pins required. So does that 49th stitch go into the next row or do we just adjust the pattern to make sure to start the pattern on pin 1?
Hi Michelle, Just keep on going with the pattern sequence for as many rows as you wish to use the pattern really. When you decide to start to knit plain again, I just choose to stop at N48 (no need to worry at what stage the pattern sequence is on) and knit plain from N1. All the best Caz

I've made two beanies with this pattern now... Absolutely love it. Curious if you know if there's an equivalent way to get this pattern if you were hand knitting?
When wrapping there is no need to put any "tension" on the wrap at all other than just letting it rest around the needles lightly but with no bagging. Same for the knit stitches, just let the yarn feed in. If you feel any resistance STOP you've wrapped too tightly. Hope this helps
Sorry if I sound dumb. But if you come to the end of the round white hook wise, do you start the spoken pattern again. Like two round two knitted etc? Even if you haven't completed the sequence? Amazing pattern!!! I hope I make sense!!!! Xxx
Not dumb at all Chelsea. With the Sentro 48 just carry on with the spoken pattern until you've done as many rows of pattern as you need for your project. Don't worry about where you start on each row during the pattern phase on the 48 it just flows, until ou decide you want to swap back to plain knit, and I usually just start again with plain at the white needle on whichever part of the pattern sequence I'm on, it doens't matter. Hope this helps.
The Sentro is available in 40 and 48 needle versions, the one I'm using here is the 48 needle widely available on e-bay, amazon etc. Also the Addi which is a 46 needle, but more expensive hope this helps. All the best Caz x
Hi so glad you like the videos. I'm not an expert on kids hats but I think it's about 80 rows (doubled) for a 1-3 year old and approx 90 doubled for 3-10yrs with 90-100 rows doubled for teens as a guide. You'd need to adjust for the Helter Skelter pattern section as needed. As a very rough guide on that after 4 rows cast on, i'ts approx 30% of the total rows for the pattern. eg an 80 row hat works out at 4 cast on 24 pattern and 52 plain for brim and liner. Hope this helps
This hat, you did only 98 rows? How would you change the rows to pattern an adult 140 rows. I'm just learning, and no one has made a pattern book for these machines and I don't know row counts yet.
Hi Katt, usually I do 4 rows of plain after cast on, 36 rows of pattern and 70 plain for brim and liner. That's just my go to for patterned but you change it up to your needs. All the best Caz
@@craftycaz Thank you so much! I just purchased the Addi King and Addi Express, and I made the final decision when I found your videos and saw that I could do more than just tubes. Thank you so much. I subbed your channel and shared it with my Rav group too.
The 48 pin comes with a counter but it can be a little tempramental. Lots of users fit a digital one which you can buy online. The Sentro Jamit Mioke or other similar brand 40 and 22 pins do not come with a counter. Hope this helps
Hi Donna, to be honest I've not used the 40 needle one. Maybe, and I'm just guessing here, knit more rows with a looser tension on the plain knit and it may fit an adult head? On the plus side with this pattern because you're wrapping needles you use more yarn which does make a sklightly looser beanie. Maybe worth just diving in with some spare yarn and see how it goes? Good luck. All the best Caz x

@@craftycaz it works and realy amzing how it turn out it fit my 3 year old daghther juat wonderful thx alot ❤❤🤩🤩
@@abedelhallal3320 That's so good to hear
This hat, you did only 98 rows? How would you change the rows to pattern an adult 140 rows. I'm just learning, and no one has made a pattern book for these machines and I don't know row counts yet.
Thank you for your videos!
You are very welcome thanks for stopping by my channel. Have a lovely Christmas
Love this!!
Thank you Jennifer 😃

Beautiful 🥰❤️
Thank you so much Elnara I really appreciate that xx
Would this work making a baby bonnet?
I know this is a old video, but how many does did you do for this beanie?
Hi Katt, usually I do 4 rows of plain after cast on, 36 rows of pattern and 70 plain for brim and liner. That's just my go to for patterned but you change it up to your needs.
All the best Caz
Is there a modification for the addi 46-needle machine? Lovely hat!
There is indeed Valorie, if you checkmy playlist you'll find Helter Skelter fro Addi 46. Have fun
@@craftycaz Thank you so much! I just purchased the Addi King and Addi Express, and I made the final decision when I found your videos and saw that I could do more than just tubes. Thank you so much. I subbed your channel and shared it with my Rav group too.
@@valoriec Fabulous Valorie you're going to be hooked for sure. It's very addictive
Does the sentro come with a counter or is it sold separately?
The 48 pin comes with a counter but it can be a little tempramental. Lots of users fit a digital one which you can buy online. The Sentro Jamit Mioke or other similar brand 40 and 22 pins do not come with a counter. Hope this helps
Can you make a video of how to make a messy bun beanie??😍
I will have a look into that Maria thank you
Thank you
You are very welcome 😃
very nic idea thank you
Thank you Ream so glad you like it.
Thanks Caz
Mine is a 40. Will that still fit an adult head? Or will it only fit a child’s?
Hi Donna, to be honest I've not used the 40 needle one. Maybe, and I'm just guessing here, knit more rows with a looser tension on the plain knit and it may fit an adult head? On the plus side with this pattern because you're wrapping needles you use more yarn which does make a sklightly looser beanie. Maybe worth just diving in with some spare yarn and see how it goes? Good luck. All the best Caz x
Vc é um gênio. Amei
Muito obrigado :)
