  • Disclaimer: As I say in the video be very careful loading your stitches onto the needles. If you line the granny square stitches up as close as possible to each needle without pulling on them they should slip over. If you can't get one to do that move onto the next stitch along. DO NOT put any tension on the needles whilst loading them on to your machine.
Make sure your granny square tube is the same size as the internal circumference of your machine. My Addi is approx 30 inches around.
Now that's over, I hope you like this one.
I've been learning to crochet and I just had a brainwave to make a beanie from the squares.
I can't wait to see your colour combinations so tag me over on Instagram craftycaz 33 and on the FB groups Caz Harris.
    All the best

Oh my! You have the patience of Job. Cute hat but I doubt I'll tackle this pattern. Just would take me too long. However, I will try the granny square hat with a sc border. :)

Thanks, nice job. I do think making separate parts on the machine and sewing to granny square section might be easier. 😊

Indeed you could, but this way eliminates waste yarn and lots of sewing, but the end result would be the same both ways , Thanks for the comment

You can use a waste yarn foundation… then attach to the squares.. that’s what I’m doing. Just use stitch markers to line the them up equally

This is a great idea, thanks for sharing! Also, I think your crochet looks wonderful! You've got nice tension and the stitches are of similar size. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the end stitches look like coffee beans, too. 😄

Thanks Liz, I appreciate the encouragement. And I'm glad you think they look like coffee beans too.
      All the best Caz
