You brought up Iceman as your favorite One cost card. I love to use him in bounce. It definitely throws off your opponent and I can potentially use him two to three times to really screw their plays by using falcon and Beast
It would be cool if in the future you did a 'To Snap, or Not to Snap' feature where you showed a board state and debated whether you should snap or not, then showed how it played out. The nuance around snapping is tough and something even most Infinite players aren't amazing at.
You've mentioned this kind of throughout the episodes so I'm just going to put it here as one thought. Finding ways to conceal information while getting more information from your opponent is very very important in Conquest. I've had games where my opening hand is atrocious and the opening locations are bad for me and I know I can't win but the opponent isn't snapping so I'm just passing the turn and finding out what they're doing. Sometimes they give away enough information to really help you in Games 2 and 3
Hey Cozy. One of the things I have taken advantage of was the "Mystery Card for a 1000" I cashed in for 5 cards. That would have taken me a long time to get those 5. That is very underrated.
I think that’s an L honestly. You will eventually get those cards for free. You could have saved 1000 more and gotten iron lad or thanos or High Evolutionary that will take you even longer to get than those pool 3 cards. Obviously do what you want with your tokens but I’d say save those for series 4 and 5 cards
I did get Hi Evo already. The key word is eventually and the first card of the season is meh. I just got Dracula, Debri, Shadow King, Shanna and Rockslide. Can't go wrong when your facing these cards almost everyday and you are still trying to get there.
Absolutely love the Podcast. I look forward to listening to it every week. Keep up the good work. Glad to hear the excitement you have for the game. Shout out from White Rock, BC, Canada!!
Pretty much every single person I play right now in Proving Grounds is running Daredevil/Professor X/Spider-Man so I honestly have not been having very much fun.
Absolutely thrilled with Conquest and I’m especially stoked that you’re able to do your dailies with it as well so I can avoid the pressures of ladder lol. Snapping 101 was an awesome topic to include! Definitely appreciated👌👌
@@WillACarpenter Hang in there, I finally got my golden Valkyrie split yesterday after months of having her in all of my decks trying to get the boosters 😍 Conquest helped a lot with that
I think the problem with High Evo is the amount of SYNERGY all of those cards have together. You pass 1 energy on T4 and that's +1 to Sunspot, +1 to a random card from Misty Knight, +2 to Hulk, -2 to whatever lane Cyclops is holding down, and then Wasp is a free 3 power adjustment you can play whenever with whatever. That's so much power being swung around in a single turn just from slightly playing off curve. It's insanely powerful and it needs to be less synergistic or the synergy needs less pay off. Maybe make Wasp a 1 cost when Evo is active to make it harder to play out and still pass energy. I'm sure they'll figure it out but the synergy the cards have together is too good.
I've found Kang pretty interesting in my take of Jane Jaw. He is good both for bluff snapping, and as a deck thinner. If you pull him from Jockjaw or Jubilee, then that just removes him from the deck, and you have one less degree of randomness gone. You can also play him into Jockjaw and see what will come out of Lockjaw if you decide to play there again. I think its a decent home for him, at least for now.
God I just love you guys. Love your personalities, positivity and banter. More hotdog/sandwich talk soon though - this may sound like a joke, it's deadly serious. Also maybe a hot dog talk compilation or short as I liked the Cozy/Brode show down. Salad defence took my by surprise but was pretty watertight. Final thing. Also on the hot dog stuff. I love that the word "Sir" has come into the few hot dog arguments. Feels civil but hilarious. Please keep doing that. Thanks a lot. P. S. I loved the actual Snap stuff too 😂
One of my favorite Combos to do is Quinjet, Zabu and Coulson In my Unpredictable Devil Dino deck. The Unpredictable nature doesn't always work, but sometimes you just get that one card you need to sneak out a win
@@GentlemanNietzsche I originally had Maria hill in there before swapping for Zabu. having the chance to play a 4 cost at 2 cost? I couldn't avoid that chance
I have been having success with a Destroy Thanos deck that put Death early on board to surprise Knull on turn 6 to have protection against Shang Chin and Zola for the hard to reach locations or last minute 8 cubers. The Key is to not show those cards unless you have a big feeling you can win cuz you don’t want to loose that surprise factor on them. Excited to see how this deck evolves with August season pass.
I've been playing a "Move" Fake to Galactus deck. Everything says move (which they expect the empty lane to be a Heimdall play) until KA-POW. Deck composition Human Torch, Iron Fist, Dagger, Ghost Spider, Multiple Man, Cloak (which you can play turn 5 to empty your Galactus lane), Dr Strange, Vulture, Wave, Vision, Skull, Galactus
Cozy, absolutely awesome video! Been with you since July 2020 with DSA and I’m so glad to see you pivot and find the support and recognition you deserve! 🥳🥳
Recently I’ve been using a small mind trick when playing. Snapping on a location reveal and make my opponent think that I’m banking on that location when I’m really snapping on the cards in my hand. They either try to over commit there or they play their cosmo or whatever there and then I’m basically free to play the other two locations worry free. Obviously it doesn’t always work but I’ve had some good experiences with that strategy
On ladder, surprising decks are better for the 8 cubes games. While for conquest, consistency is king, since you probably gonna have to play a few games with the same player, and he'll know your entire deck/win conditions.
For me, the greatest part of Conquest is how it counts towards the daily missions. Maybe an obvious thing, but logging on for the first time of the day, playing a Proving Grounds match, and, win or lose, finding you've closed out 3 or 4 daily missions, maybe enough credits to get to the next cache, good feeling there. Getting to work through a losing streak without dropping a bunch of ladder ranks is nice too.
I totally agree with cozy for the surprise cards in conquest. I've already battled someone who have kingpin, wolverine, Shuri, Galactus, Heimdall and Nimrod in one deck it was so crazy and hard to read
I’ve played conquest for a solid 2 hours today and the entire thing beyond the entrance games consists of evo decks… lockjaw-Thor-Jane-evo, control evo, normal evo, etc. It’s actually concerning to me how no one at second dinner considered maybe a card that is better than infinaut in terms of slightly less power on average but actually being able to play on 5, a 4 cost that is technically 9 power, a 3-4 that technically averages around 3-8, a 9 power that can fairly easily push 0 cost, and a 0 cost that is technically 3 power all while being able to shove these into decks that don’t even really make sense because they’re just that strong, isn’t extremely broken and meta defining is crazy. They were doing so good after shuri changes and I foresaw high evo being a problem and I fear that if they don’t do anything soon we’re just going to end up in a “shuri 2.0” meta
16:04 I actually went with Pure Evil's Cozy deck. No one is expecting you to clog their whole locations with negative power. Not even Destroy-Lactus could match me That gave me my Infinity ticket.
Me (not a good player) finally getting over rank 80 and even getting an Infinity Ticket with a destroy deck: Let's go! Me hearing Cozy is about to make a destroy deck video, it will become popular and people will counter it: Oh-oh...
this month ive been loving collector kitty pryde such a fun deck crushing everything rn. ive been sneaking rogue into a lot of my decks cuz of luke cage and fat hulks rogues been winning me games tbh
High Evo, I think the best solution would be the +1 on hulk.and maybe cyclops and wasp only hits one card. Think about if you have Sunspot, Misty, cyclops and hulk. Skipping 1 energy gives 6 power. Not likely I know. But even with half of those, you can generate 4 power. It will still be good trust me.
Making High-Evo a 4-0 would do next to nothing to his playability. Nobody using HE is actually playing him unless they want to play on curve and have nothing else.
You guys touched on a concept that I have to remind myself about with this game which is a "snapn't." Which is the term I've coined for a foreboding play by the opponent that means I shouldn't snap even if I drew my condition. Psylock on 2 into Mr. Negative on 3? That's a Snapn't. Electro on 3? Lockjaw on 3? Wong?! These are all plays that indicate the coming of a big combo, when properly drawn, can overpower you even if you also drew properly. Saves a lot of cube loss at high ranks not to just snap when you draw your win con.
My most consistent deck in conquest has been Discard with collector and Helicarrier. Discard is phenomenal on its own but Collector allows for a completely different win con. On top of that Helicarrier adds such a HUGE level of randomness games 3-5 which can swing it in your favor
Silk is great! I lost a silver conquest because I moved silk to the cloak lane when I shouldn't have, but conquest was so tense and fun I didn't mind losing. Iceman and Magneto are INCREDIBLE in conquest
I use a Sandman Ramp no Galactus fakeout that is very reliable. With a trick that no one sees coming. Nebula, Scorpion, Electro, Wave, Jubilee, Sandman, Devil Dino, Aero, Heimdall, Orka, Magneto, Giganto Ramp up and you could Heimdall T5 and drop Orka into his own lane T6. No one expects it and has won me a good handful of games. Could probably put a Shang Chi in place of either Heimdall or someone else if needed.
With high Evo, I think the Jane-Jaw wasp cycling consistent -2 is kinda busted. I'd like to see a change to wasp personally. Also, the hulk is on the cusp imo
I believe high evo's issue isn't the card/cards itself in my opinion, its the cards that it uses are the issue. It's so versatile and capable of using many different cards that it should be considered when nerfing high evo. Control and janejaw are the biggest abusers and reforming how they interact with those should be looked at. Maybe nerf wasp, cyclops and hulk while buffing the less used cards like thing and shocker.
Ive been playing a destroyer deck and honestly it's ridiculous how often I get I cubes with my deck, first time hitting infinite and im dominating conquest rn
For High Evo i was thinking a cool way to nerf it would be giving each card side effects... For example: Hulk: ongoing, +2 power for every turn you don't spend all energy, -1 power for every turn where you spend all energy. Wasp: On reveal, -1 power to two enemy cards here and -1 power to itself. Things like that could make it really interesting. They are not straight nerfs, instead they are things you can try bypass by playing differently/better, instead of just making HE a completely dead card. Although most of these side effects examples i gave could be easily avoided by just having luke cage in your deck. I'm sure second dinner could come up with something better.
@@tomekk.1889 I don't think they would kill the cards, obviously they are nerfs but as i said the downsides are small and can be avoided by playing slightly different. And i mean, with my pitch for Hulk the maximum potential isn't changed. Currently, in a 6 turn game, Hulk varies between 12/14/16/18/20/22 power depending on how many turns you float energy. With my change it would be 6/9/12/15/18/22. Although in most games when you play a HE float deck you usually end up not floating 1 or 2 turns, one being kinda forced by playing Hulk itself. So yeah, instead of being a 20 power card it will now be an 18 power card. Idk, i think is kinda fair when Infinaut is a much harder to play 20 power card. Right now it feels like when you play HE you automatically put Hulk and Wasp because of how good they are. If you are not floating energy then why even have HE Hulk instead of some other big card like regular Hulk or Magneto? All that being said the Wasp change i propose is a little more complicated, we have to agree that a 0/3 is kinda crazy (just compare it with yellow jacket lol), but because wasp numbers are so low balancing is hard. The Lockjaw Wasp combo would still be perfectly fine, although with a little more finesse to not get Wasp from Lockjaw. And there could be new cool strategies like Wasp Viper. All that being said, i don't think they are perfect at all, but i rather have something more interesting than just making High Evo a complete dead card in the deck. In fact, if they decided to slighty nerf all the cards abilities and make HE a 4/5 or 4/6 i think the HE decks would feel a lot more fluid. Shocker hitting HE wouldn't feel bad at all for example.
I think the new wave effect is partly why high evo is so much the best deck. Even the high evo's that don't run it, their best opposition in kitty bounce decks and sera control/turn 6 combo decks are getting gatekept to a much smaller meta presence because of wave. Of course in a heavy wave presence game the deck with the biggest turn 6 single drop(Both wide- Doom and tall- Hulk) is gonna stand above all others.
I made a fun surprise Galactus deck for conquest. The main engine of it is wave t3, galactus t4, crossbones t5, and then iron man + ant man t6. Also, death instead of ant man t6 is awesome. You avoid the Shang Chi threat with this and usually have enough power on that last location to beat most decks.
I'm a big fan of a flavor of Destory with Thanos, Negasonic, and Nimrod. Negasonic lets you play as the control deck while pumping Knull a ton or acting as a Nimrod enabler.
I’ve had about a 80% win rate with my ghost rider-Hella resurrect. I haven’t stopped using it in conquest, but I know the deck would greatly increase if I only had invisible woman. Also, the majority of the times I do lose it’s because I face against in enchantress that screws me over or a crypto.
Don‘t get me wrong I love the conquest mode and ever since it released I have not come back to playing ladder because it‘s a fun new gamemode but I think the conquest mode restrict you from being successful with self-made decks due to it‘s highly competitive meta with all the High Evo decks floating around that are hard to beat with decks you want to test out. Anyway as I already said, love the mode!
Due to this boom around High Evo decks and the overhypness around them, I'm sarting to lose interest in Conquest Mode because it's not easy to beat no brainer High Evo decks and whatnot.. In order to be on top you need to run no brain sweaty and funless decks.
Hoarding tokens cracks me up. You can totally tell Alex is a finance bro 😂 Just spend em Alex, they don't get any interest, and the best time to play with a card is when nobody knows if it's worth it to buy yet! Buyers remorse is a myth. It doesn't exist if you don't believe in it.
I absolutely love that there are no bots in conquest. The ladder having cheater bots in it makes any sus play feel like you got hit by a cheater bot. When you get a dumb bot on ladder it doesn't feel good to win. Knowing 100% it's a human you can play mind games with and bring the core of snap into play every match is fantastic.
What if "High evo starts in your hand." It's annoying when that happens already and now it always happens. Maybe knock him down to a 4/3 to make it Sting even more.
White Queen is super underrated and got me to infinite and to gold conquest!! With Quinjet in play too. Know what your opponent is planning and to play it on 5 then your big plan.
Not a fan of the 4/0 High Evo idea, it just does what it does too well. That change does nothing to reel it in. They ought to put Hulk to 13 power and change his effect to +1. Maybe buff Giganto while you're at it.
I agree that Proving Ground (and Conquest in general) handles most of the issues I have with the ranked climb. The ability to earn medals and choose how to spend them -- and even if I'm playing poor or experimenting not lose progress -- it's nice to just get to play and progress without needing to be on top of my game on a solid deck every time. That said, Conquest gets too sweaty and has too much loss later in its progress. Playing through Gold takes a long time and if you lose on match 3 you're losing out on an Infinite Ticket and a lot of medals. -- I'd prefer to have some rewards for a loss and a bit less reward on wins to balance it out.
Hell yeah the surprise cards are great for conquest man like in patriot I run storm, sunspot, and nebula people don’t know what the heck to do until it’s too late lol
I just tried Sandman ramp on conquest silver league, and it did horribly bad Maybe for the current meta, the combo Jeff - Nebula - Prof X is essential, and I don't have 2/3
Unranked mode is good. But imagine dividing players even more. Ranked, Casual, Conquest... Game already struggles to have a good matchmaking, and has bots for that even on infinite ranks. The best thing of playing conquest, is actually never playing vs bots.
Nerfing HE to a 4/0 won't really do anything. I can count on 1 hand the amount of times my opponent intentionally play HE. Meanwhile Cyclops, The Thing and Wasp have renderd some of my decks almost completely unplayable becease I haven't unlocked Luke Cage yet.

For High Evo i was thinking a cool way to nerf it would be giving each card side effects...
For example:
Hulk: ongoing, +2 power for every turn you don't spend all energy, -1 power for every turn where you spend all energy.
This sould instantly kill the card. These side effects kill the cards
Terrible
Good
Die piece of shit garbage broken scum card
Nerf it to the fucking ground
Shocker hitting HE wouldn't feel bad at all for example.
wish i had the luck cozy has with his variant shop.
@@DuckTheHeel galactus is giga chad
@@DuckTheHeel all hail Galactus
Galactus is never surprise after wave tho ...but I like seeing someone try something different
Didn't even know Galactus had changed until it was played against me today. What a great Father's Day gift
I've lost a few to new galactus. And I only feel bad cause, after looking at the board, I have that realization that I outplayed myself
I haven’t won a single game in gold, but I have enough medals to unlock green goblin tonight
WE NEED MORE DECK SPACE!!!!
At least room for more decks!
I think Hobgoblin is a good surprise to run in Conquest.
I've been running it in a HE deck with Scorpion, and I've won matches in all tiers.
Deck?
@Alexander Coccia - I'm going to need you to come talk to my C level beer league, because they play like there's scouts in the stands.
I’m trying to figure out what cozy’s hinted destroy deck is
Don‘t get me wrong I love the conquest mode and ever since it released I have not come back to playing ladder because it‘s a fun new gamemode but I think the conquest mode restrict you from being successful with self-made decks due to it‘s highly competitive meta with all the High Evo decks floating around that are hard to beat with decks you want to test out.
I think we all should have a gentleman agreement to auto snap the very 1st game of conquest to move things along. Then from there play straight up 😊
Can’t get enough of you 2 keep up the amazing job 😮
Hoarding tokens cracks me up. You can totally tell Alex is a finance bro 😂
Just spend em Alex, they don't get any interest, and the best time to play with a card is when nobody knows if it's worth it to buy yet!
Top notch thumbnail
What if "High evo starts in your hand." It's annoying when that happens already and now it always happens. Maybe knock him down to a 4/3 to make it Sting even more.
Secret Invasion - Alex has been replaced. They missed his opening tagline
Banger thumbnail as always!
Hell yeah the surprise cards are great for conquest man like in patriot I run storm, sunspot, and nebula people don’t know what the heck to do until it’s too late lol
Feels when you're nearing 2000CL and have only three cards in the Ramp deck outline 14:49
i like high evo as a 4-1 or 4-2
I just tried Sandman ramp on conquest silver league, and it did horribly bad
Maybe for the current meta, the combo Jeff - Nebula - Prof X is essential, and I don't have 2/3
Unranked mode is good. But imagine dividing players even more. Ranked, Casual, Conquest...
Game already struggles to have a good matchmaking, and has bots for that even on infinite ranks. The best thing of playing conquest, is actually never playing vs bots.
Iron Lad Silk Kraven is Bonkers 😂
I got to the infinite ticket and I went to sleep woke up and everything was gone and had to start back Over from silver SMH 😢
Cozy hit it proving grounds are the ultimate unranked mode loving testing decks in there
Bro, I see a video of you, I insta like it, you the man
Nerfing HE to a 4/0 won't really do anything. I can count on 1 hand the amount of times my opponent intentionally play HE. Meanwhile Cyclops, The Thing and Wasp have renderd some of my decks almost completely unplayable becease I haven't unlocked Luke Cage yet.
Hi, does anyone have any gameplay with the Galactus deck he offered during the video please?
Don't know if I buy Jeff or Iron Lad OR wait for Pig or Spider 2099 :((
Silk is the best 6000 token card I’ve ever bought. I have so much fun and crazy moments with her. I play cerebro 5 with her.
Damn it Alex! Quiet you on that Sandman Ramp! Lol
seeing Alex get (his version of) angry and rant about snapping gives me life
