Yeah I have been wondering about a few changes or glitches. 50 tokens is like why even give me tokens. Smfh complete BS. How the F are people supposed to earn 6k tokens to buy cards they want?
It hurt all players. Mid spending players are getting punished hard for having most of the cards. Also let's say a player has only Darkhawk. He could theoretically pull him everytime he opens a spotlight cache and get trash 700g variant for a card no one plays.

Thank you for talking about respecting service workers and giving criticism in a constructive way. Your positivity keeps me coming back. Same for Alex.
I feel like the main reason why the bad aspects of the spotlight caches are only bad because they did such a drastic cut to token and gold acquisition. It's the only reason why I stopped opening after I got burned with, like Cozy, baby Angela 🙄. I got the cards I wanted and it was great. Then that happened and it was a total slap in the face. Got to give it to Second Dinner. They found a way to slip a total FU into something that was a great idea.
Fr man. In my opinion the previous system was just fine. We used to get good amount of tokens, golds, other cosmetics and that was just fine. I always had enough tokens to buy something from the shop and it was just alright
Im pretty disappointed with the spotlight caches. Its primarily the absolute lack of tokens for me, which removed the ability to target my favourite card once or twice a month. They cited "too pay to win" for the reason why duplicates from spotlight caches were a thing, the same day they release a 7500 gold bundle with 6000 tokens. I have lost all respect for the dev team behind my favourite mobile game.
@@ricardocancino7280 Absolutely agree. It should be higher than that even, maybe averaging 3000 per month so you can eventually get those cards the spotlight caches dont address for many months. My biggest complaint of course is the random variant from a duplicate card. Like... What
As a season vet, when I opened my spotlight cache and pulled spiderman99 and then converted it to a bad jubilee variant I can confirm, I was very very unhappy.
when cashes went online i had to climb the full level to get the cashe , i spend like 1300 gold on quests and all my resources just to get one chashe... i want the grey so much and i have all the rest .. i roll kitty pride duplicate that gets transformed to 700 gold pixel ... gg
Spotlight caches might ruin the game. Several friends of mine already voiced their concerns for the very first time after this update. This new systems removes any choice from the player, except If hes a whale, or grinding every day through the entire month. And even then, you will miss several cards of the other Spotlight weeks, without any way to obtain them after, since you wont have enough Tokens to get them. Marvel Snap is officially part of the average mobile Gacha games and its really sad to see that the game headed in that direction.
The duplicate/mystery variant problem is such an issue because, 25% of the time, you’re opening a very valuable spotlight cache just to get rewards that feel even worse than the old system. That has to change asap.
@@AtomicBananana the Season pass should provide 100% of the money they need. The new system is still loot box garbage disguised as a gourmet meal. and still nothing has been done to speed up the slog that is acquiring Series 3 cards for new players. Unless the rate you collect cards speeds up at the same rate cards are added the game is going suffer even more.
@@ceepuck1511 the system is designed for whales to be able to spend a dumb amount of money each week on caches, it's doing what it was designed to do. This was the plan from the beginning with nexus events, they won't change it
@@AtomicBananana”they won’t change it” They’ve literally changed the system multiple times already so why would you believe this is the one that’s just staying the way it is? I am an actual whale and there’s no way this system will stay exactly how it is because it will piss off the whales. This just increased the cost for people that are already spending a lot. I’ve bought the bundles, but I’ve never needed to also buy credits on top of that. This new method would require me to do both and that’s outrageously expensive. Their whole “this isn’t P2W” is absolutely tone deaf and I’d honestly take it further and say idiotic. This will be changed in some kind of way because this new method will cause people to quit the game.
I got my Galactus out of a random collectors reserve. If I didn't have it yet with the new system, I'd have to wait however long until they want to put Galactus in the spotlight cache and save up 4 spotlight caches. Only other way I'd be able to get Galactus earlier is with tokens which they've greatly reduced now. Some people may have to wait months to get the one card they really want
I got Knull from a reserve and High Evo from the token shop, and they've been mainstays in the decks I run. I was hoping to target Thanos in the token shop next, but it looks like I won't be getting him anytime soon unless I get lucky with one of the upcoming spotlight caches...
@@caliburnabsolute8517 yeah, before you would've been able to save up the tokens for him in a bit over a month. Now you'd need to save tokens for 7.5 months. Or hope he's in the spotlight soon and save up 4 caches.
@@novak.r Yes they definetly need to be a little more generous with the collectors caches. If they want to make more money just sell more stuff. People will spend more when they feel like their winning
46:38 Bingo. This. I almost quit this game this week because it felt too much like gambling. My first plchest was tribunal variant...then a tribunal card that got converted. I really wanted this Jean Variant, but after making the gamble of getting her with all other rewards claimed, I got hit with a variant for a card I didn't use. That felt bad. Delete the app bad. They need to make this change that new variants don't show up til the weeks cards have been exhausted
I doubt it would ever happen but I love the idea of getting half the token value for the random card pull. Just being able to buy a new card in s4 every month is huge, that way you can save your Spotlights for another week.
Before this new system you got enough tokens to buy an S5, opened enough caches for 1-2 S4 pity pulls, and most importantly you had cards dropping to S3 every month. Now we have to wait weeks to target a card and even then you are gambling, if you miss out you have to save an entire season and hope it shows up again, all whilst getting no tokens and not enough gold to buy bundles. Feels bad man.
What I hate the most is how they sneakily introduced the concept of pulling duplicates into the game. And the conversion of them is a slap in the face. It should be AT LEAST 1000 tokens, if not 2-3000.
Yes shows u how smart they are to pull the wool over the entire communities eyes including content creators who were there asking questions. There very smart bravo... Keep pissing people off.....
@@jeffsenecal4168 And they're like "oh the negative feedback is just because people tend to react negatively to changes, we'll wait a few weeks to see how it really works" bruh...
You fully nailed the random card pull issues with Spotlight caches. I pulled Jean Grey on first pull and then walked away because I had the other cards and I wasn't risking some shitty already owned card. But if ti was a guaranteed mystery series 4/5 that I didn't have or a ultimate variant, I would've for sure pulled all four if it meant I got another missing card from my collection.
I absolutely love Jean Grey, tons of creative deck building that hasn’t been explored yet and she just feels really good to use. I’ve been trying out kingpin with her to pull cards out of her lane with Magneto and invisible Woman and it’s surprisingly really effective. Aero definitely is underrated with her, another great episode much ❤
Post is big in the MTG community, so really not surprised to see him playing snap. A lot of MTG content creators were talking up the game for a while (that's what got me to start playing)
nearly collection complete, but missing jean, tribunal, and knull. this set was perfect for me. opened my one cache i got in the week and rolled my random S4/5 into nebula (already owned), which then rerolled into an agatha variant 😢
From my understanding spotlight caches were presented as an additional way to get new cards, not a replacement for all other ways to get cards. They really were quiet about all the bad parts of the system
No, they weren't. SD clearly announced the reduction of all the other rewards, but all the streamers were like, "pay no attention to that, look at how cool THIS might be!" I've been sitting here bitching about it since the start, but nobody gave a damn until streamers told them to. Sheep...
@RetroMaticGamer this 💯💯💯💯💯. Anyone without rose color glasses on knew this system was going to suck from the get go. In a lot of ways it turned out even worste IMO than we imaged.
Mysterio is not the main issue with Bounce. It is definitely mostly Kitty with a bit of blood on Hit Monkey, but nowhere close as Kitty. She makes the hard "cap" that Angela has almost nonexistent, without relying on bounce cards like Beast and/or Falcon, and also gives extra power to Bishop by giving you a cheap replayable card.
Well said about the spotlight cache system gentlemen. I particularly liked what Cozy said first that it should really just be cosmetics they're selling. But in regards to the current system, the mystery spotlight needs tokens and the reserves need more tokens.
So I'm in the space where I have 6ish S5 / S4 to go. For series 3 folks the changes may be more beneficial but I kinda figured this is that the new system would screw me over. I hoped I would be wrong but, well .... here we are. My gripes: 1) I have to hoard caches until SD decides to put cards I need into the spotlights. Only to engage in extra layers or RNG shenanigans. 2) The pace of new card releases is going to far out run my capacity to keep up when they are spread so far apart. And the alternative methods have been nerfed. Why are variants even part of the collection track? I've always felt that variant acquisition part of the split system.
A change I'd like to see is when you open a Spotlight cache you get a token, then the weekly set of cards is on a tab in the shop and you can spend the tokens to gain one card in the same random way. Saves scrolling around the collection track and any accidental open, maybe makes it feel slightly less like hoarding
They want you to spend money on credits so won't make it that easy to get what you want. They are trying to get whales to spend as much money as possible to go up 80-90 ranks a week to get 3-4 spotlight caches.
Great ep guys 👍good to see you guys raising the issues that need addressing, iv been playing since launch and find myself just grinding the dailys at the moment , they need more unlocks of substance for the higher collection level players 👊
As a F2P I prefer the old system as it was more beneficial to acquire good amounts of tokens or gold to help me keep up with the new cards release, The closest I've been is 12 cards down in the whole collection, With the new system, F2P are able to only acquire one Spotlight cache a week, meaning that chasing cards in general is going to be even harder for us. Hopefully the system will get tweaked a bit.
The number 1 culprit in Bounce is Kitty IMO, and most specifically how she dodges Kill Monger. She grows in power while simultaneously giving up priority, which is very hard to deal with.
Kitty is not the issue. Kitty is a 1 cist that makes u spend 6 energy and play behind the curve the whole game to pull the power. They need to target the other cards in bounce not there only S5 available, it's supposed 2 B good, hit the lower S 123 cards to nerf the deck but don't kill it, it's really ridiculous to me people R crying about the 1 powerful card bounce has , & I don't even play bounce! The other archetypes have SO MANY power cards it's rediculousness , they need to make Hit monkey +1 not +2
@@jeffsenecal4168 Speaking of kitty pryde, spending 6 energy for it actually makes it a 6 cost card. A 6 cost that has 12 power. Sounds familiar? Its a freaking hulk.😀😀 Just instead of slamming 6/12 in one turn, we get to build that up over time. High evo hulk in that sense is actually 12/22. for every +2 we need to spend 1 energy and turn 6 it takes 6 energy. But who cares about all this effort, everyone just shouts, "NERF!NERF!NERF!" Edit: sorry. kitty pryde is actually 6/10 if you play her each turn
I own Knull and Living Tribunal. I had enough caches saved to open up 3 spotlight. First open was Knull, second was Living Tribunal and then the third was the mystery card: Kitty Pryde. A card that everyone literally received a few months ago. That cars then converted into a random variant: an ugly ass Thing variant. I play a lot and feel like this new system does not help out players who play a lot and have a lot of cards. I have not played a match of Snap since last Thursday. I hope they fix this or I will not be back.
Dude I understand but not playing because of this system is overreacting a little. There still is conquest and normal ladder that is still very fun. And this comes from someone who is f2p. I believe they will change it but not playing the game because of it when it’s not even as bad as people think it is is a little absurd. That’s just my opinion tho. I’m not gonna control what you want to do
I think maybe this is a good thing as there are so many video games that came out this year that I kind of ignored because of Snap grind. I started playing Octopath Traveler 2 and s1 of Diablo 4 is this week. I enjoy Snap a ton but maybe something like this was good to make me take a step back and do other things.
@@DataCon That’s actually a great point. Sometimes I go on a huge streak of a video game and then I just get bored. But once I come back to it it’s like it’s a new game all over again
I'll be opening caches this week. I'm not super hyped about Echo, but I still need both Iron Lad and Kang, so I figure this week isn't too bad to open. After that I think I'll be saving til either X-23 or September releases.
Kang was by far my biggest regret on buying. I use him in less decks than 90% of the cards in the game, so I feel like he’s just terrible. Even when I’ve used him I just end up wanting to replace him with something that works better in the deck. So I hope you pull Iron Lad lol, because he’s awesome. I think I’m saving my caches all the way until next Season Pass. I have enough collectors tokens to get Legion and Mirage, so I think I’ll get them and just hold the caches until Lady Deathstrike because I also really want that Stature variant.
It took me 3 pulls to get her. I liked the other two variants I got that week, but would have been nice to pull her first pull, and save the Caches for later.
I'm pool 3 complete, I bought every single battle pass since I started playing (after the beta) and I was very happy with the amount of gold and tokens you got from the reserves, token tuesdays were also very helpful. I even spend a few Euros on some extra gold to get the TT deals. Eventually, I was able to buy all the Spiderverse cards, then this update dropped and safely targeting new cards is virtually gone now. One spotlight cache every 10 collectors reserves is too expensive, I was only able to open one (yes, I do all my daily and weekend missions) and "only" got the Knull variant wich I really didn't care about, even Living Tribunal would've been fine (thankfully Nick Fury is good now). I don't like the new economy changes at all and agree with the points Cozy ans Alex made for improvement.
Exactly, I play since November and I'm only buying the season pass so far (and the 3.5$ starter pack lol), and I agree that the game feels ok until you complete pool 3, then it's "pay to feel anything new". I can still play with the decks I'm winning with, but with no new cards (maybe 2 per month? not including SP) and no meaningful progression (gold and tokens gone from collection rewards) means it's getting really stale. I'd rather spend my gold on Artgerm variants, than dump 7k on a bundle worth of ONE card (maybe even less, bundles have become really bad).
This is basically where I'm at too, I was in a good spot were I felt I could target the cards I wanted and now that is all gone. I have too hope for RNG too get anything I want because I surely won't be able too open enough caches each week too get all the cards and variants. I saw one streamer that thought it was a better system and he said that if you criticized it you would get banned from commenting on his videos, lol.
Didn't expect you guys to be so vocal on the new changes. I stopped playing and I was curious on your take on these unpopular changes thinking you'd take SD's side as always. Kudos to you.
My spotlight cache experience is terrible so far. As a free to play player I saved and went thru the track to open the cache and I got confused as I received darkhawk, which I already bought with tokens…., and instead received a pixel Mr sinister skin…. I hate pixel skins….. I feel cheated
you should be able to choose which card other wise you have to wait crappy months for another randomized chance. This made it worse i feel specally with 50 tokens.
I think another issue at least for me is how spaced out they are, like I was lucky to get even one spotlight cash this week and I just don’t logically see myself getting a second one so this week my only spotlight pull was a duplicate I already had. If they were a bit closer to each other I think that could also improve the enjoyment of them and possibly get rid of the need to hoard. Idk tho that’s just my idea
@@brad4613 that’s still not much better tbh, out of the 4 cards/variants you get 2 of em(one possibly being a huge dud or a duplicate). Yes it’s rng and it’ll always be rng, but it makes it feel like hoarding or buying credits is the only way to guarantee what you want. By spacing them out better you wouldn’t have to do either
@@brad4613 "Grind more" lmaoooo not everyone has that much time on their hands. I've been playing daily and got all the missions done and barely scrapped in time for one cashe.
@@Daltoniss i barely have time either but i still get it done especially with conquest you can literally make decks for missions and not worry bout losing or anything just put all the cards you need for missions in one deck you can usually get em all done in one game
Yeah i feel you on that but thats why i also feel like you gotta give up some weeks ya feel me like im giving up this week cuz echo seems like shit but by next week for legion ill have 4 caches i just got my second rn
Quality > Quantity. I rather have 1 or 2 cards less but being able to choose exactly what card I get and WHEN I get it. In this new system I have to wait for weeks for the card(s) I want and I cannot miss it. Then if I'm unlucky I'm able to get a lot of other cards/variante but then I don't have more spotlights for the next card I wanted to get.
Completely agree on the bad and the ugly. I got a 700g bishop variant after rolling ironlas and converting. Felt like an insult. I would feel ok with half value in tokens, as you suggested. Mystery premium variants felt like they were going to be the low, but then that happened. I think your mystery variant should be 1200g minimum or one of the featured variants... I would be happy if they fixed this I think.
honestly not getting gold from reserves anymore is the worst. if you arent a whale like 99% of players it was really easy to save up gold for bundles. now you can get like 1 big bundle a year if you are able to reach rank 90 consistently.
Cozy and Alex, I really appreciate the dynamic and the info that you guys share here. Regarding Collector's Reserve, as a player that's still in pool 3, I love it when I get a card drop. Getting credits and tokens feels ok, I wish that the amounts at time of drop were guaranteed to be higher and less low amount stuff, but it's all rng anyway. That said, personally, getting an avatar out of a collector's reserve kinda stinks. Keep up the great work and awesome content.
The one thing I will say as I do agree with everything yous have said is, I don't have many series 4 or 5 cards and I only opened one spotlight got the random card and got a dark hawk that I didn't have so it does help newer players, however I'm also addicted play multiple hours a day and have only gotten 1 and won't get another this week, if they make credits more accessible to upgrade cards it would be a massive improvement
Dude.... These graphics and visuals! Like the gambit one at the beginning... Really good work! I suggest when there are such good graphics don't hesitate to milk it a bit and hover longer so we can appreciate it more without having to pause! 😅
I’m really glad you all were willing to stick up for the player base and not defend SD on “the ugly”with spotlights. No duplicate protection with a horrible replacement (basically a random variant) is not defendable. I think as they expand the s4/s5 the system will feel even worse, if you can believe it. They said this amount is the minimum of s4/s5 they want in the pool but it already will take 3 months to rotate all the old cards just once. Think about all the people who don’t have Hit Monkey, Zabu, and Jeff right now -it might take them 2-3 months to get them and those are top tier cards. Its really not fair unless they bump up the token rate. I love the podcast. But I just want to point out - all the content creators greatly over sold the Spotlight system, many saying it was going to be the the savior to Marvel Snap, which is definitely not true! If you read closely on the announcement all these issues were in plain sight and many critics were out there, but few to no content creators spoke out until after the fact, I wish it was the other way around. If anything, this new system preys on uninformed/gambling players and whales with significant FOMO. That said for new players you can catch up with S4/S5 cards like Big Bads much faster, so it is pretty ingenious how it simultaneous helps players and also exploits them too. Honestly, like most changes Nuverse seems incredibly greedy in their monetization strategy. Just make some cool emotes and chat phrases we can buy in the game. Nearly everyone would want to buy those (look at Runeterra for examples there’s so many cool ones there). As much as it would be awesome, I will actually say I don’t think the suggested change to give 1500-3000 tokens is feasible. Unless you want the entire player base to have >90% of cards. I believe 500-1000 is probably the max that could be given. I think if they did that then turn those 50s into 100s, they would feel much better.
I could see a world in which they should upgrade the season passes by adding collector tokens to it and improving the season caches. I think making the season pass overall more attractive is great for their economy as it's predictable income vs variants or bundle that simply might not appeal. Don't understand their marketing & sales there: you can easily get a customer spending 10$ a months over years, but asking them to spend 30$ once can be such an immense psychological barrier.
The fact that they gutted the collectors reserves as badly as they did just to give us this spotlight system is just so painfully insane. It's so obviously a bad move and it hurts EVERY single player. It showed absolutely no foresight on their part. They're turning the majority of players who are series 3 complete away from the game, and those few who aren't yet done with series 3 will certainly be done with the game once they finish series 3 and see what sort of garbage the series 4 and 5 world is. Seriously, they release a new card every week. There was absolutely no risk of people getting all of the cards for free with the systems they had in place. Even with the pre-spotlight cache system I didn't have every card and I've played way too much and spent waayyy too much money on this game. But I gotta say, that trend is over for me now.
On paper they seemed like a cool idea but it feels just as much like a grind as it did before the update. They really want this game to be a grind and it feels like we can never get a good balance of getting more than 1-2 cards a week and grinding so hard you’d think you’re playing tony hawk. Edit: I’m sure you can get tons of reserves if you play hundreds of games a week but thats just not feasible for the average person. Needing a chart to know how many games you need to play a day is….a problem.
I'm so glad you mentioned the gold. I honestly don't think that SD listens too much to the players on discord vs content creators. My only real gripe with the system is gold being removed and the 50-100 tokens in the collector's caches. They've literally completely devalued them.
My complain is me and all my friends now feel like the game is focused towards the whales. Spotlight caches being 100+ collectors levels apart is crazy. Plus the chance you get crap. They have got to change the gold and tokens back to the old ways.
I was recently playing a discard/destroy hybrid list to shake things up for myself and then Cozy releases his new cards coming video and I lost my mind. Let's, fucking, go!
I’m mostly F2P, only Season Pass, decided to stop spending on it after I could only open one spotlight and it was a galactus that turned into baby daredevil 🙃🔫
IMHO, any progression system is broken if it leads to the userbase hoarding for potential future rewards instead of progressively getting rewarded as they go. Feeding that dopamine hit today will keep the userbase engaged. People respond very poorly to deferred rewards, it's basic psychology. The Spotlight Cache system will kill the game in its current format.
I'm S3 complete and have most of the S4/5 cards. I'm still grinding for: Jeff, Jean Grey and a few others that I can't remember right now. But getting to each Spotlight Cache has been a struggle. I feel like I need to dump money into the game moreso than any other time in the past. It's not been positive so far. But we'll see
As a f2p palyer i wanted jean grey so bad because i am a surfer lover and i low rolled into the garbage mystery card just make it so that the first cache of the week cannot be this garbage
100% right about the Random 4/5 cache. If you have a reasonably large 4/5 collection then you are almost certainly getting garbage from that Spotlight Cache. Cozy's suggestion of a large token drop is spot on; at least then you can plan to buy something good from the shop after opening a couple of those. That one change would make Spotlight Caches nearly perfect as a system. As it stands, I pulled a Domino variant that I'm never going to use!
Imo, of the Spotlight Cache variants, this week is probably, on balance, the one with the best looking variants. All 3 variants look incredible. Unfortunately, with how insanely hard it is to get cards in general, there isn't really a way I can justify getting any spotlight variants on purpose.
Remember these weeks are also for new players, my son will be pumped to get Knull since he just started a few weeks ago. They are probably listening to the new player crowd who missed out and feeding that.
Has anyone else still NOT updated yet? I’m still rocking a 3/1 Gambit 😂 Trying to skip the reserves where the spotlight caches will be, so I still get the old rewards as long as I can. Matchmaking takes like 3 minutes each match tho 😅
I got lucky and pulled Negasonic, (which i didn't have) and then Jean Grey - so I stopped there because I am F2P and have been saving since this was announced. Your idea of putting in half the tokens is brilliant!
Beautiful morning and again thank you for starting by the week off with such great content. Plus I loved the friendship between the both of you at the beginning of the show! Always love and laughter in your lives and cheers to such a beautiful community:) Jumping from positive to negative, the cache sounded great till I realized I can open 1-2 per week and got a Yellowjacket… and with the nerf to the chests I actually play more solitaire then snap now…. Which is sad. Just punishing feel bad.
Spotlight sucks, As a pass buyer since modok. 3700 CL almost S3 complete. spent the first week to get 1 spotlight cache. Got hi evo which i already had. and according to my S4/S5 collection, pulling a card from the spotlight that i already had was 6% chance. After pushing through 2 season full of galactus bots, seeing this season start with absolutely unrealistic conquest mode rewards, this spotlight change is the push that is going to make me take a huge step back from this game.
@Cozy Snap newer ones like me still miss out on a lot. When you don't buy season passes, not have enough gold to buy any small bundles or the 10 purchases for 2k tokens isn't anything to look foward to. Getting smaller amount of tokens now is lame.
I used to care about hitting infinite consistently but now i couldn't care less i honestly just want to use cards i find fun or just use unused cards i even split Crystal like 10+ times off the top of my head and i honestly just want Legion and his spotlight variant then im saving my spotlights for until October card leaks and only then im picking up unused trash cards cuz i like getting insane splits on cards you wouldnt expect
Another great snapchat, as usual. Great job guys! I couldn't agree more with how bad that 1 in 4 duplicate feels. Also let's say a player has only Darkhawk. He could theoretically pull him everytime he opens a spotlight cache and get trash 700g variant for a card no one plays.
when cashes went online i had to climb the full level to get the cashe , i spend like 1300 gold on quests and all my resources just to get one chashe... i want the grey so much and i have all the rest .. i roll kitty pride duplicate that gets transformed to 700 gold pixel ... gg

Thank you for talking about respecting service workers and giving criticism in a constructive way. Your positivity keeps me coming back. Same for Alex.
Thank you guys for addressing the Spotlight Cache situation. I was really worried that RUclipsrs might be silent on this.
50 tokens in a CR feels so awful. 100 minimum at least, please.
The hardest thing to design and balance in games like this is the monetization.
@@ricardocancino7280100 is still way too little. It still took like a month or more of regular play to get 6000 tokens before
@@ricardocancino7280 Absolutely agree. It should be higher than that even, maybe averaging 3000 per month so you can eventually get those cards the spotlight caches dont address for many months. My biggest complaint of course is the random variant from a duplicate card. Like... What

Even grinding players, there is a low limit on raising your Cl as a free player. Only whales can actually easy Farm caches
Even whales are leaving in droves. On reddit there is any overwhelming number of posts from people stating why they are leaving.
The duplicate/mystery variant problem is such an issue because, 25% of the time, you’re opening a very valuable spotlight cache just to get rewards that feel even worse than the old system. That has to change asap.
This is never going to change, this system is now just gacha banner, they need bad hits for them to make money
@@ceepuck1511 not to mention, fewer and fewer series downgrades.
Thanks a million Cozy and Alex for highlighting and calling out exactly what is wrong with the new system. Huge huge kudos to you guys for that 💪
What I hate the most is how they sneakily introduced the concept of pulling duplicates into the game.
But if ti was a guaranteed mystery series 4/5 that I didn't have or a ultimate variant, I would've for sure pulled all four if it meant I got another missing card from my collection.
as a degnereate Negative player I can't wait for Lady Deathstrike. 3 energy kill all minions below 5 sound like a powerful thing to do
I absolutely love Jean Grey, tons of creative deck building that hasn’t been explored yet and she just feels really good to use. I’ve been trying out kingpin with her to pull cards out of her lane with Magneto and invisible Woman and it’s surprisingly really effective. Aero definitely is underrated with her, another great episode much ❤
I just got her this morning on my free to play account threw her in my zoo style deck. Haven't tried her yet but looking forward to using it.

nearly collection complete, but missing jean, tribunal, and knull. this set was perfect for me. opened my one cache i got in the week and rolled my random S4/5 into nebula (already owned), which then rerolled into an agatha variant 😢
I feel your pain brother.
Sheep...
@@RetroMaticGamer Thank god we have people like you who've got it all figured out.
@RetroMaticGamer this 💯💯💯💯💯.
After hearing about you working at hotel, it feels proud to see you come this far as a content creator
The snapchat is always the best thing to put in my car on the way to the gym ! You guys are the best
Honestly at this point SD are the masters of the one step forward two steps backwards duke
Spotlights can stay, but they need to give us back our tokens to add some agency again
My gripes:
1) I have to hoard caches until SD decides to put cards I need into the spotlights.
Alex isn't an animal hater. He is the KING OF SQUIRRELS
Thank u guys 4 standing with the community gr8 vid as always
What’s absolutely insane about bounce is the fact that wave/sandman ramp does not wreck it…given my experience so far
It does unless you can't beat 9 power turn 6 and are already winning 1 lane
@@randomhero6365 I suppose my decks are still too slow. I try some good stat cards t1 and 2 but by t4 they already have priority in two lanes
Great ep guys 👍good to see you guys raising the issues that need addressing, iv been playing since launch and find myself just grinding the dailys at the moment , they need more unlocks of substance for the higher collection level players 👊
I agree with Alex that the collect reserves are hot garbage now.
I just stopped opening them. Feel better about the game without the collector’s reserves.
50% refund on duplicates is such a good idea. I would love this system if that was implemented.
Yeah I’m f2p too. I think it will get changed soon. Marvel snap is pretty good at understanding what their community wants
true! ;_; f2p players are taking a big damage with this update
The number 1 culprit in Bounce is Kitty IMO, and most specifically how she dodges Kill Monger. She grows in power while simultaneously giving up priority, which is very hard to deal with.
Invisible woman and killmonger. You can almost guarantee they aren’t playing armor or enchantress
Yes and I absolutely love it. I don't want her to get nerfed 😥. You can hate me as much as you want since I am a bounce player but plz don't nerf her.
But who cares about all this effort, everyone just shouts, "NERF!NERF!NERF!"
Edit: sorry. kitty pryde is actually 6/10 if you play her each turn

Same here.... I've regretted not buying Iron Lad for awhile so I'm excited for when he hits the rotation tomorrow.
yes, I am in the same boat ... ... and that's why the spotlight is an issue ... when you have more cards more of the weeks are less interesting.
New system makes me want to stop playing but you two keep me going.
Very great discussion about the spotlight system.... developer must see this video
Best part of this podcast is how much Alex and Cozy seem to genuinely have fun. Keep it up!
I pulled Jean Grey on my first spotlight and after watching this weeks video I realize how lucky I got!
EXACTLY where I'm at too!
Really good to see you discussing the spotlight system critically and constructively. Thanks
Didn't expect you guys to be so vocal on the new changes. I stopped playing and I was curious on your take on these unpopular changes thinking you'd take SD's side as always. Kudos to you.
Def gonna be running a Sauron deck this week. The people running Echo will be helping me out so much :)
I still feel like they should add 200-300 collectors tokens to the 25 mission weekly cache.
My spotlight cache experience is terrible so far. As a free to play player I saved and went thru the track to open the cache and I got confused as I received darkhawk, which I already bought with tokens…., and instead received a pixel Mr sinister skin…. I hate pixel skins….. I feel cheated
Didn't know the spotlight caches for August were also datamined. Thanks for sharing that! Excited for the 8/8 week.
you should be able to choose which card other wise you have to wait crappy months for another randomized chance.
Grind more as long as you make sure to do every mission you should at least get two a week minimum
@@brad4613 that’s still not much better tbh, out of the 4 cards/variants you get 2 of em(one possibly being a huge dud or a duplicate). My rando series 4 or 5 card was Kang, which I didn't have, and I'm still just as disappointed as Cozy with his Baby Angela.
Quality > Quantity.
I rather have 1 or 2 cards less but being able to choose exactly what card I get and WHEN I get it. In this new system I have to wait for weeks for the card(s) I want and I cannot miss it.
Then if I'm unlucky I'm able to get a lot of other cards/variante but then I don't have more spotlights for the next card I wanted to get.
grinded my fist spot light cache and got the dope knull variant ❤
Everytime I see Cozy I think of Olivier Giroud
31:17 amazing week for people that don't but season pass
Completely agree on the bad and the ugly. I got a 700g bishop variant after rolling ironlas and converting. Felt like an insult. I would feel ok with half value in tokens, as you suggested. Mystery premium variants felt like they were going to be the low, but then that happened. I think your mystery variant should be 1200g minimum or one of the featured variants... I would be happy if they fixed this I think.
50 collectors tokens is a slap in the face. Its getting flipped a nickle when your begging for a meal.
honestly not getting gold from reserves anymore is the worst. if you arent a whale like 99% of players it was really easy to save up gold for bundles. now you can get like 1 big bundle a year if you are able to reach rank 90 consistently.
Snap needs to watch this video. So much truth. Exactly how I feel with the caches now.
I think if they did that then turn those 50s into 100s, they would feel much better.
please increase 50 tokens to 100, 50 just sounds so petty 😭
How do you even get over 2-3 Spotlight caches without spending money, if you just do all missions and weekly missions?
I’m happy with my newly acquired Knull variant, but I need my tokens and gold
My guy gave a shoutout to ZOO PALS!!!
I think I might be the only person who was wanting the living tribunal variant from this week’s spotlight cashe.
It's a cool variant for sure. For me personally, I don't like the idea of giving up a S4/S5 card for a variant, no matter how good the variant is.
Imo, of the Spotlight Cache variants, this week is probably, on balance, the one with the best looking variants. All 3 variants look incredible.
Unfortunately, with how insanely hard it is to get cards in general, there isn't really a way I can justify getting any spotlight variants on purpose.
You know what. Cosy your right. Half the tokens fixes the problem
That Post Malone 4/20 card was hilarious. 😂
I never got to open a single series 5 card from reserves. Now I never will. Feels bad man
Remember these weeks are also for new players, my son will be pumped to get Knull since he just started a few weeks ago. They are probably listening to the new player crowd who missed out and feeding that.
Has anyone else still NOT updated yet?
I’m still rocking a 3/1 Gambit 😂
Trying to skip the reserves where the spotlight caches will be, so I still get the old rewards as long as I can.
Always love and laughter in your lives and cheers to such a beautiful community:)
Jumping from positive to negative, the cache sounded great till I realized I can open 1-2 per week and got a Yellowjacket… and with the nerf to the chests I actually play more solitaire then snap now….
Man, I really want that Kitty variant but I agree. (Spidy 2099 variant is pretty awesome.)
I like the spotlight variants and love the great accessibility to new cards but damn that 1 in 4 dumpster fire just sucks the fun right out of those caches and swaps it for the stress of please don't be the mystery one!
