My idea for Strong Guy: make him a 4/10 that gets -1 power for each card in your hand. It keeps his flavor, makes him playable in a few archetypes and keeps his power ceiling while giving a lower floor, but a much better average. Or even making a 4/11 to keep the floor and giving him a higher ceiling.

Just had a fun thought for the punisher. Since he's a character that takes beatings all the time, but just gives them back stronger, make it so that any effect that would reduce his power instead increases his power. That could be a nice counter to HE decks, and synergize well with cards like yellow jacket.

Actually a good idea, the fact that he takes a spot in your hand and can't be played is a hard condition. why the 14/0 though ? could be 0/0 it doesn't matter since it can't be played. Also he should not be targeted by any locations nor cards like Black Bolt/Moon Knight/Ice Man/Coleen Wing/Nakia/etc...
I would actually put his power at 10+ because he is extremely powerful, but rarely interferes. Being he has been sprung into action a handful of times I would make it that he cannot be played from your hand. For example he tried to hide earth when the Silver Surfer was coming looking for a planet for Galactus to eat, and when that did not work he told Human Torch where to get the Ultimate Nullifier. So would still make stuff like Ghost Rider, and Hela still be able to play him.

Re: The Punisher changes. I think it would be super-thematic (initially a solo vigilante against the mob) to have a reverse Angela like effect activating when an opponent plays a card in his location.
A couple of ideas for buffing those cards, some are mentioned in the video: Colossus: 5/9 with the same effect (10 power might be too much) Angel: If he also flies from your hand, it would be enough. Uatu: You can see the locations wherever Uatu is, but then make him a 1/1 or even a 1/0 because that effect would be very powerful. Punisher: 3/3 same effect. Captain America: If an all would be destroyed at this location, destroy me instead.
I think Colossus would be too strong with those effects at 5 cost. 6/9 or 6/10 would be more reasonable since he can be played on a lot of unplayable/restrictive locations, can't be Shang nor have his power reduced.

They can not buff those cards in the current state of the game because those are pool 1, everyone always say buff these weak cards, but those are weak ass cards precisely because those cards are the introduction to the game. So in order to have a better system they should do as TeamFightTactics does and shuffle up the whole cards in the game, change their whole abilities whole power, and energy cost so we have entire years with new meta, new archetypes every year.
For colossus what if we did this: Colossus: 3 cost 3 power Ongoing: can’t be destroyed, moved or have its power lowered. Whenever enemy attempts to destroy, move or lower power, +1 each time
Coccia makes a great point about Angel, there some be some kind of effect which transforms Angel to Archangel, a bit like Bucky Barnes but unique to his character. Maybe if he's discarded, to give synergy with Apocalypse decks

my idea for the colossus: he keeps today's effect + first time your card will be destroyed, colossus takes the hit he keeps that card alive and he himself still cannot be destroyed
Strong guy is also a simple fix. Do something similiar to dazzler. +1 power for each empty spot in your hand. Up to 7 power makes him a 4/11. He'll go in a lot of M.O.D.O.K lists for sure.
Quake should swap the other two locations and not be restricted to middle. I'd say maybe cost or power change may be needed but at this point I'd rather see them broken first and fixed later than just never played.

Since Quake is played in the middle have her swap the outer two locations. This way she's predictable for both the players playing with and against her. Have colossus not be able to be discarded would be good as well as having the affect apply in deck, same with Wolverine. Punisher can be a 2-0 reverse Angela or a 3-0 semi reverse Red Skull (ongoing: +2 power for each card your opponent has here). Pesonally I'd really like seeing Nakia and Okoye buffed - just give Okoye +1 power and make Nakia a 3-0 +2 power to the _three_ leftmost cards in your hand).
I have an idea for Angel, take Apocalypse for an example when he gets discarded his power increases and all the Horsemen of Apocalypse are like a "Reborn" beings so when Angel gets destroyed or discarded he "Reborns" as Archangel which gets added into the hand costing something like 1/5 or 1/6 if hand is full Archangel flies to a random location. Power and cost can be adjusted according to game balance.
I agree the Punisher should be feared. That is his whole thing in the comics Criminals fear the Punisher, and the Skull panics them when they see it. That is why he never gets capped in the head because people freak out, and shoot at the skull.

I bought snowguard for 3k tokens the other day, and I have to say that I have no regrets. It's not a card that always gets value, but it can come in clutch with the right locations. I've skipped TVAs, gotten to vaulted locations, screwed up Elysium for bounce players, respawned monster island and then shang chi'd it, and lots more. If they want to buff snowguard, I'd have its bear effects work on "X happens after turn Y" locations, because as of now it does nothing
Magik also feels so bad when you flip Dream Dimension - cards on turn 5 cost 1 more. I'd love it to be a 4 cost, plus you would be able to protect it with a cosmo if you'd normally just pass turn 6. Maybe that's why they don't change it.
I think for Strong Guy, an interesting way to adjust him would be to make his ability a triggered ability that gives him an increase in power (probably not the +6, but maybe like +2 or +3) whenever your hand is empty after playing a card or after an effect resolves or something along those lines. Basically something that makes it a decent payoff for the discard deck that isn't required on ending the game with no cards in hand.
An original idea I had for Uatu would be that he reveals a card from your opponent's hand when played. However, Spider-Ham unexpectedly does that with a powerful effect on top of it. So i've got nothing for this guy atm.
the thing with spider-man 2099 is that is another tool for move decks. it's usually the same cards that are moved (dagger, torch and vulture) and now we have a card that does something different when moved. i like the card, but i'm waiting for the spotlight caches
bro with that change to Uatu he'd be an auto include in the majority of decks. Card advantage and knowledge are the two resources you have to play with in this game, and locations specifically are extremely volatile in gameplay, knowing what's up with those locations from turn one would be a MASSIVE boon.
The Move archetype needs a card that gains power in-hand whenever cards move. In general, it's just missing cards that benefit from *other* cards moving
I think the nerf to Dr. Doom weirdly made Omega Red better. They are basically the same but trading 2 energy for the requirement of needing to be winning by 10 at a location.
Agree on Punisher as well. Any card that rely's on your opponent's hand or board should be more power than their counterparts. For instance if Cap can be 3-9 then punisher should be 3-12 same with Devli Dino and Ronan
I have had a SHIELD deck for quite a while now. It gets me wins more times than not but my favorite part is all the randomness you get. Not always the best pulls but sometimes those cards are the cards I play.
I love that they cater to lower pools with these caches. But I cant help but feel they alienate the higher portion of the fanbase that have most cards already. Anything would do, extra tokens, credits you name it.
Angel (to go with lore) should replace any card that is destroyed (even if he's in hand or deck), but if angel is destroyed, he comes back as archangel with double power, or some type of power buff.
I think maybe Silk was a reason as well as to why Dr Doom was nerfed to 4 power on other lanes. This makes silk more powerful and Dr Doom still viable.

Always appreciate the content, this is the only podcast I've ever kept up with every episode! I know you guys often have a segment where you talk about your favourite decks at the time and I was thinking that it would be cool if you lined that up with the release of Infinite Conquest in the future. Talking about these the day before it releases each month would make it feel more topical and give us better insight into what decks you guys will personally be running in Infinite. Then you could even do an Infinite Conquest report the following week with how many you won and what decks you did end up using for those successful runs etc. Also posted this on Alex's episode in hopes of it getting noticed but regardless, keep up the great work!
I think you give angel some power differential - If he replaces a card that is destroyed his power doubles - or he becomes half the power of the destroyed card. Give a bigger benefit for using up a spot on him. Maybe he is a 2 cost so that he can't get killmongered but is reduced to a 1 cost when actually drawn into your hand
I really truly think that if they gave uatu quicksilvers ability and made quicksilver into an entirely different card (maybe ongoing he ensures your side always has priority?) both would be so so so much better than they currently are

I have always loved Fury, even as a 5/6 and played him a lot. When Coulson came out, I was in Heaven, even got the inked Noir card for him, which I think is most fitting for a guy who has died more than any character(except maybe Loki). SHIELD is looking awesome and could become the next META? KITTY pride is awesome also, especially with cloning vats and sinister city or bar sinister...you can fill up your hand quick though, but I got her up to above 2048, filled a but two spots on the board...lol

THE PUNISHER 2/0 - Ongoing: gain +1 power for each card that is destroyed STRONG GUY 4/4 - On Reveal: if your hand is empty, draw a 6 cost card. OR 4/4 if this card is discarded, randomly spread this cards power among your cards on the board Forge 2/2 - that's it Absorbing man and Magik don't need a change, maybe give them +1 power but they are potentially meta defining cards that the balancing team has rightfully left alone.
@@Robofoxtris'm not so sure, look at other great 2 costs, cloak is a 2/4 that helps the deck it's played in, daredevil, zabu, morbius. You could even make it so colossus' power can't be altered at all so it's a permanent 2/4. Colossus is clearly too weak at 2/3 to be used to anything other than ongoing
The Punsiher could be a reversed Bishop. Everytime your opponent plays a card the punisher gets +1 power or everytime your opponent plays a card the played card gets -1. What do you think? :)
For Uatu, I want him to be able to see every location change. For example: You have Uatu either in your hand or on the board, and you plan to play a Scarlet Witch and just like Daredevil you can see what that random location will become. Same with Quake. You could see where would each location go. For Punisher I think making him a reverse Angela is the perfect idea. So he scales with each enemy card played there.
Agreed, I always thought Colossus should be a 6-9: can't be moved or destroyed, power can't be reduced. I think we should be able to play Quake at any location, switching the two others so the effect would be predictable. Absorbing Man is great, just a bit expensive, 3-3 would be a great buff for silver surfer and On Reveal decks. IMO Rhino should be bigger, like 4/6 or 5/8.
I dislike the cache change personally. It is gonna be a lot harder to target cards you want. As someone who is mostly series 4/5 complete (minus like 25%) I will probably end up getting variants instead of cards; it is gonna be hard to acquire a card I'll ACTUALLY want. You'll get a new card but it is gonna be very gacha feeling. Plus, Gold getting removed caches is gonna hurt f2p getting cool variants or bundles.
Ive been saying for a while that they should just make Quake shuffle in a consistent way. Like she always shuffles left or always shuffles right so you know what’s going to happen but it can still be played around by someone who knows about it
I didn’t realize it till I saw a streamer do it but Ghost Spider can move the goblins. I haven’t tried it in a deck list yet but that’s great mind games stuff.

Colossus has always played the role of the frontliner for the X-Men, a moving tank and their shield. I would've loved to see his effect to "Can't be Destroyed. If an enemy would destroy one of your cards, target Colossus instead", and maybe raise him to a 3 or 4 cost card with the appropriate power stats.
Punisher being a 3/1 with the ongoing ability: "double his power per card an opponent plays in this location". Make him Punishing especially with Spectrum, Bast, Forge, Nova, Etc!
I think one of the problems is that they came up with the idea of Big Bads later for Thanos, Galactus and Kang and given his history Dr. Doom would have been one of these had he not been a card with the initial release. Same for Apocalypse. Both should be big bads. On that same note I think Kang is really underpowered for someone of his iconic status and power in Marvel history.

I've been playing SHIELD + Devil Dino since Fury's buff. Pulled a Sandman against a bounce deck, pulled Magneto against Wong and pulled him and Mystique right before he dropped his Gambit. The deck can be anywhere from fun to very fun.
Idea for Snowguard: 1/2 | Generate 3 tokens, discards tokens that wasn't in play next turn. Opponents will not receive the Snowguard token's effect. Tokens: Bear 1/4 | On-Reveal : Trigger the location effects where this play. Hawk 1/3 | On-Reveal : Disable all locations for 1 turn. Cat 1/1 | Unspent energy will be added per turn, till all spent.
Its kinda funny when you mention Death, but I actually think spider-ham makes death more important for lots of destroy decks just so she can serve as a potential shield for the more important bits like nimrod/knull/arnim type stuff who are more core to the win con.
The cool thing about an Uatu that works from the deck is that they don't even really need to add a new animation for it. It just needs a new flag to recognize to activate from the deck, as well as hand or field. Would unfortunately still require a patch, but I'm totally on-board. I feel the same way about Punisher I do about Ronan/Dino. The fact that the effect is mostly influenced by the opponent justifies it having a higher cap. I think Punisher could be a 3/0 that gets +2 per enemy and Dino could be a 5/1 with its normal effect without having much impact on the meta.

And also would allow some counterplay with some add effects

Quake should swap the other two locations and not be restricted to middle. I'd say maybe cost or power change may be needed but at this point I'd rather see them broken first and fixed later than just never played.
Always glad to see these pop up in my feed. Mondays are the beginning of my weekend so its a great way to unwind and watch people talk about a game I like.
Since Quake is played in the middle have her swap the outer two locations. This way she's predictable for both the players playing with and against her. Have colossus not be able to be discarded would be good as well as having the affect apply in deck, same with Wolverine. Punisher can be a 2-0 reverse Angela or a 3-0 semi reverse Red Skull (ongoing: +2 power for each card your opponent has here). Pesonally I'd really like seeing Nakia and Okoye buffed - just give Okoye +1 power and make Nakia a 3-0 +2 power to the _three_ leftmost cards in your hand).
I have an idea for Angel, take Apocalypse for an example when he gets discarded his power increases and all the Horsemen of Apocalypse are like a "Reborn" beings so when Angel gets destroyed or discarded he "Reborns" as Archangel which gets added into the hand costing something like 1/5 or 1/6 if hand is full Archangel flies to a random location.
Power and cost can be adjusted according to game balance.
I like where you are going. The mechanics of it though.. to somehow utilize his Archangel persona is indeed very clever.
Easy Colossus fix is "If Colossus would be moved or destroyed, +1 instead"

I agree the Punisher should be feared. That is his whole thing in the comics Criminals fear the Punisher, and the Skull panics them when they see it. That is why he never gets capped in the head because people freak out, and shoot at the skull.
43:25 - @cozysnap can you elaborate on why you would hold off due to the spotlight caches? Is 2099 likely to appear in that first cache? Could be a while, no?
I bought snowguard for 3k tokens the other day, and I have to say that I have no regrets. It's not a card that always gets value, but it can come in clutch with the right locations. I've skipped TVAs, gotten to vaulted locations, screwed up Elysium for bounce players, respawned monster island and then shang chi'd it, and lots more. If they want to buff snowguard, I'd have its bear effects work on "X happens after turn Y" locations, because as of now it does nothing
Magik also feels so bad when you flip Dream Dimension - cards on turn 5 cost 1 more. I'd love it to be a 4 cost, plus you would be able to protect it with a cosmo if you'd normally just pass turn 6. Maybe that's why they don't change it.
Dream dimension is just a horror, I cant ply my Magic or Sera

I think for Strong Guy, an interesting way to adjust him would be to make his ability a triggered ability that gives him an increase in power (probably not the +6, but maybe like +2 or +3) whenever your hand is empty after playing a card or after an effect resolves or something along those lines. Basically something that makes it a decent payoff for the discard deck that isn't required on ending the game with no cards in hand.

An original idea I had for Uatu would be that he reveals a card from your opponent's hand when played. However, Spider-Ham unexpectedly does that with a powerful effect on top of it. So i've got nothing for this guy atm.

the thing with spider-man 2099 is that is another tool for move decks. it's usually the same cards that are moved (dagger, torch and vulture) and now we have a card that does something different when moved. i like the card, but i'm waiting for the spotlight caches
bro with that change to Uatu he'd be an auto include in the majority of decks. Card advantage and knowledge are the two resources you have to play with in this game, and locations specifically are extremely volatile in gameplay, knowing what's up with those locations from turn one would be a MASSIVE boon.

In my opinion Colossus should get a Taunt mechanic so he's the only one targeted by the negative on reveal effects like The Thing , Wasp and Cyclops
The Move archetype needs a card that gains power in-hand whenever cards move. In general, it's just missing cards that benefit from *other* cards moving

I think the nerf to Dr. Doom weirdly made Omega Red better. They are basically the same but trading 2 energy for the requirement of needing to be winning by 10 at a location.

Agree on Punisher as well. Any card that rely's on your opponent's hand or board should be more power than their counterparts. For instance if Cap can be 3-9 then punisher should be 3-12 same with Devli Dino and Ronan
I have had a SHIELD deck for quite a while now. It gets me wins more times than not but my favorite part is all the randomness you get. Not always the best pulls but sometimes those cards are the cards I play.
I love that they cater to lower pools with these caches. But I cant help but feel they alienate the higher portion of the fanbase that have most cards already. Anything would do, extra tokens, credits you name it.
Angel (to go with lore) should replace any card that is destroyed (even if he's in hand or deck), but if angel is destroyed, he comes back as archangel with double power, or some type of power buff.
I think maybe Silk was a reason as well as to why Dr Doom was nerfed to 4 power on other lanes. This makes silk more powerful and Dr Doom still viable.
5/9 Colossus is a BRILLIANT idea! That might make him my favorite card. 1,000% agree that Yondu should count as discarding Wolverine as well. I love that you're steering discussion towards fixing the things that don't work instead of dumpstering what does

Always appreciate the content, this is the only podcast I've ever kept up with every episode! I know you guys often have a segment where you talk about your favourite decks at the time and I was thinking that it would be cool if you lined that up with the release of Infinite Conquest in the future. Talking about these the day before it releases each month would make it feel more topical and give us better insight into what decks you guys will personally be running in Infinite. Then you could even do an Infinite Conquest report the following week with how many you won and what decks you did end up using for those successful runs etc. Also posted this on Alex's episode in hopes of it getting noticed but regardless, keep up the great work!

I think you give angel some power differential - If he replaces a card that is destroyed his power doubles - or he becomes half the power of the destroyed card. Give a bigger benefit for using up a spot on him. Maybe he is a 2 cost so that he can't get killmongered but is reduced to a 1 cost when actually drawn into your hand
I really truly think that if they gave uatu quicksilvers ability and made quicksilver into an entirely different card (maybe ongoing he ensures your side always has priority?) both would be so so so much better than they currently are

I have always loved Fury, even as a 5/6 and played him a lot. When Coulson came out, I was in Heaven, even got the inked Noir card for him, which I think is most fitting for a guy who has died more than any character(except maybe Loki). SHIELD is looking awesome and could become the next META?
KITTY pride is awesome also, especially with cloning vats and sinister city or bar sinister...you can fill up your hand quick though, but I got her up to above 2048, filled a but two spots on the board...lol

AGENT 13 1/2 - Gain a random card with cost equal to next turn. (If you play on 1, you get a 2 cost, play on 2, get a 3 cost etc)
SNOWGUARD 2/2 - Ongoing: Disable the location this card is played at.
QUAKE 3/1 - On Reveal: destroy cards with less power than this card (earthquake animation)
VATU 1/1 - If this card is in your deck, you can see all the locations.

Absorbing man and Magik don't need a change, maybe give them +1 power but they are potentially meta defining cards that the balancing team has rightfully left alone.
Colossus being a 2/4 with no drawback is way too broken
@@Robofoxtris'm not so sure, look at other great 2 costs, cloak is a 2/4 that helps the deck it's played in, daredevil, zabu, morbius. You could even make it so colossus' power can't be altered at all so it's a permanent 2/4. Colossus is clearly too weak at 2/3 to be used to anything other than ongoing

The Punsiher could be a reversed Bishop. Everytime your opponent plays a card the punisher gets +1 power or everytime your opponent plays a card the played card gets -1. What do you think? :)
the second ability you said seems unbalanced, it’s like Scorpion but every card instead of whatever was in their hand.
For Uatu, I want him to be able to see every location change. For example:
You have Uatu either in your hand or on the board, and you plan to play a Scarlet Witch and just like Daredevil you can see what that random location will become. Same with Quake. You could see where would each location go.
For Punisher I think making him a reverse Angela is the perfect idea.
So he scales with each enemy card played there.
Agreed, I always thought Colossus should be a 6-9: can't be moved or destroyed, power can't be reduced.
I think we should be able to play Quake at any location, switching the two others so the effect would be predictable.
Absorbing Man is great, just a bit expensive, 3-3 would be a great buff for silver surfer and On Reveal decks.
IMO Rhino should be bigger, like 4/6 or 5/8.
I dislike the cache change personally. It is gonna be a lot harder to target cards you want. As someone who is mostly series 4/5 complete (minus like 25%) I will probably end up getting variants instead of cards; it is gonna be hard to acquire a card I'll ACTUALLY want. You'll get a new card but it is gonna be very gacha feeling. Plus, Gold getting removed caches is gonna hurt f2p getting cool variants or bundles.
Tbh I prefer getting more series 4 and 5 cards than just having to work to get the ones I want

Ive been saying for a while that they should just make Quake shuffle in a consistent way. Like she always shuffles left or always shuffles right so you know what’s going to happen but it can still be played around by someone who knows about it
punisher could just be "Ongoing : give enemy cards at this location -1 power" to get HE synergy
I didn’t realize it till I saw a streamer do it but Ghost Spider can move the goblins. I haven’t tried it in a deck list yet but that’s great mind games stuff.
it’d be cool if Strong Guy became a 4/10 with the Ongoing “-1 Power for each card in your hand”. at worst it’s a 4/3 and at best a 4/10, but could also work in Sauron/Zero lists and not just discard or pool 1 zoo
Colossus has always played the role of the frontliner for the X-Men, a moving tank and their shield. I would've loved to see his effect to "Can't be Destroyed. If an enemy would destroy one of your cards, target Colossus instead", and maybe raise him to a 3 or 4 cost card with the appropriate power stats.

Punisher as the opposite of bishop, every card your opponent plays you get plus one and make him 3 1
I think one of the problems is that they came up with the idea of Big Bads later for Thanos, Galactus and Kang and given his history Dr. Doom would have been one of these had he not been a card with the initial release. Same for Apocalypse. Both should be big bads. On that same note I think Kang is really underpowered for someone of his iconic status and power in Marvel history.
I disagree. The stature and publication history of a character in the comics shouldn't determine its power level in snap.

I think Colossus being a 5/9 would be pretty decent in move decks, if maybe you want more power in a right lane when playing Himdal other than just him or any other lane for that matter
I've been playing SHIELD + Devil Dino since Fury's buff. Pulled a Sandman against a bounce deck, pulled Magneto against Wong and pulled him and Mystique right before he dropped his Gambit. The deck can be anywhere from fun to very fun.
I also think Nakia should add a +1 to your hand. At the time you draw her, you have 4 cards usually? Maybe 3. I
Idea for Snowguard:
1/2 | Generate 3 tokens, discards tokens that wasn't in play next turn. Opponents will not receive the Snowguard token's effect.
Tokens:
Bear 1/4 | On-Reveal : Trigger the location effects where this play.
Hawk 1/3 | On-Reveal : Disable all locations for 1 turn.
Cat 1/1 | Unspent energy will be added per turn, till all spent.
I cut Agent 13 for Nebula too, for the same reason. Clogged hand leading to far too many turn 6 Fury's getting 1 or no cards added to my hand.
Its kinda funny when you mention Death, but I actually think spider-ham makes death more important for lots of destroy decks just so she can serve as a potential shield for the more important bits like nimrod/knull/arnim type stuff who are more core to the win con.
Colossus 4/4 Ongoing: Can’t be destroyed, moved, or have its power reduced. +2 power any time one of these actions would have happened

The cool thing about an Uatu that works from the deck is that they don't even really need to add a new animation for it. It just needs a new flag to recognize to activate from the deck, as well as hand or field. Would unfortunately still require a patch, but I'm totally on-board.
I feel the same way about Punisher I do about Ronan/Dino. The fact that the effect is mostly influenced by the opponent justifies it having a higher cap. I think Punisher could be a 3/0 that gets +2 per enemy and Dino could be a 5/1 with its normal effect without having much impact on the meta.
Strong Guy could be 4/4 ~ +1 for each card less than 6 in your hand.
