@@CD318 You don’t know what is the true spirit of Bach. Gould has passion inside himself, but cannot reach what is beyond him in order to play it outwards from his imagination. He knows this, he can only see the creation, but cannot comprehend the highness of it. It is just left in his imagination. That is why he hums, because he needs alternative ways of expressing himself from what he feels, since it is very overwhelming, hence he cannot play it in the most natural & purest way possible. In fact it is way too far fetched for anyone in the world to stand side by side with Bach & play every note just the way he intended it. It cannot be done anymore because he is no more.

"Es-Groot" = G Major...love language, haha. Beautiful playing!
Wordlessly beautiful! Historical designed piano sounds clearly.
Yes .....lots or colour and tasteful phrasing ....and not too much pedal..... Really enjoyed this.
Une remarquable prestation avec des thèmes bien mis en valeur et de belles nuances
