i've done this job so many times. I wish whoever is talking you through this did the same for me my first time lol.
Don’t know if I could concentrate around that gyatt!
nope. never.
Solid work.. its always daunting getting in that deep on a daily or any car that you want to drive right away to test out the upgrades. Cant wait for the next vid. 😎🤙
Good work whoever is coaching you seems like a pretty knowledgeable dude, best of luck with part 2!!!
I had this same issue, brought it to my local shop, and they found the noise coming from the alternator. They removed the serpentine belt, manually spun the one way clutch and bearing and found the alternator being faulty as the cause of the noise. Replaced the alternator, tensioner, and belt and the noise has gone away.
thanks for sharing this info! :)
@@One_Guy hope this helps! Cam shaft replacement may not be necessary!

I did my first timing belt ever on my 14 jetta tdi about a month ago, definitely daunting seeing it for the first time lol
It’s like if someone took out your kidney and then u wake up after surgery and see it outside of u for the first time 🥲
Your intros are as amazing as your videos
and memes
Thank you 🥲🩶🤍
how did we determine it was the camshft? VWs have to tick (standard). Did you go hotter on the cam? Plus what else did you do "while you were in there?" And think I struggled with the timing belt on my mk4 GTI 1.8t.....
So we’re 95% positive it is the camshaft because they’re notorious for failure on EA888’s nearing 100,000 miles. The cam magnet adjusters and plungers have been replaced and the last thing on the list to resolve the issue is a camshaft. Also taken it to VW for a real diagnosis and this is what I was told
You can see what the commanded camshaft angle is versus actual. One will have similar values and the other will bounce around all over the place. This recently happened to me and the noise was quite loud. A shop told me they wouldnt know which cam until they disassembled. I figured it out on my own in a few minutes with vcds.

@@KaylaKolben well if you do and want to cruise up let me know, I’m bringing the Harli and b5, and may have an 8y and 8v rs3 cruising as well
seems running it low on oil is the main issue for this issue. followed by the manual box. ruclips.net/video/sWr0fpQVv20/видео.html
