Great review Paul, really appreciate your vids. I’m coming up to six months ownership with my Yaris GR Sport, didn’t think I’d enjoy it as a daily driver as much compared to my previous 2.0 GR-Sport Corolla as that car was so good but the Yaris GR-Sport is just hands down better (for me). It can very nearly match the refinement levels of the Rolla, smashed it out the park for mpg and the Yaris is just bags more fun to drive day to day 😊
@@paul_nwsxs Agreed. With having a Design and Excel in the close family it’s great to drive them all and the difference are really noticeable. The Design is great for comfort and probably the best bang for buck all rounder trim however the GR-Sport trades off some of that comfort for vastly improved road holding, it just feels like a hot hatch and that’s what I absolutely love about it. The Excel I like also however bar the brighter interior I don’t quite feel it’s trade off in comfort (over the design) is worth it because you don’t get the sporty trade off that you get with the GR-Sport.
Wow cheers for that quick reply that’s amazing fuel economy for an average over the type of driving you do, I’m thinking of getting a one love the look of them
Than you sgain Paul, Another reall useful video.. There is always something in your videos we didnt know before. I didnt notice we get a run flat tyre . Much better than those puncture kits. I ordered my GR Sport in February, so hopefully should be arriving by August ??? Your video is making me more impatient 😏
Pity you can't get the bi-tone any more. Looks so much better than the plain Ash Grey. Did you know you can get a high level boot floor so you get a flat boot floor when the seats are folded forward? My local Toyota dealer told me the part number is M T58410-K0020-C1. The only snag is; they quoted me £468.96 for it!! Victor
I agree bi tone is beautiful I did ask about the floor but the price put me off I think it’s something I could make as it’s only wood Might have to do it soon as I’m planning on putting full size spare wheel in my boot
Excellent production. It would be good for any prospective buyer to view this but in saying that the 12v battery issues should have been mentioned me thinks. Slightly surprised your dad’s GR Sport is due in July as it’s earlier than mine (ordered last Dec due Aug). Tks
I DID NOT WANT TO TOUCH ON THE NEGATIVES I.E 12 VOLT BATTERY ISSUE AS I WAS TRYING TO PRODUCE A VIDEO AS IF I WAS MAKING A REVIEW FOR A MOTORING SHOW , Dad’s car was originally ordered in November as a pure white no options We changed the order on January 6th 2023 and asked for ash grey and city pack The November order was still a valid order as of that time it was nowhere near build so changing things was not an issue If we had not changed the order he would of had a white no options in may But we both think adding the city pack and changing the colour makes sense for him as he didn’t realise what a nice colour ash grey is and after he drove my car had to have the city pack as I said in the video it was the blind spot monitor he picked out instantly as an option he realised will make his motoring experience a lot safer
Excellent review. Just picked up my Yaris GR Sport in the very seductive metallic black. It feels like a very different animal from my previous design.
Would of been nice if you had said what ur average fuel consumption is during ur ownership of this car rest of the review is brilliant just missing fuel stats
To be honest with the mountains I’m always driving up and down , all the narrow lanes my fuel consumption is all over the place , it’s done road rallies , track days and been driven very hard all its life But I have just checked on the car it averages over the 13 months I’ve owned it 56.7mpg over its life so far , which I’m totally happy with considering my other car my MR2 runs mid 20,s
Why bother with the GR? My Excel doesn't need "citypack" added, same engine. Ok 17" wheels, not got the 'tailpipe', but everything else is the same and cheaper than GR.
why not ,, the world is full of choice , i might turn right you might turn left , i might buy a 911 porsche you might but a skyline gtr if we were all the same the world would be a boring place
Why bother with the GR? Because some of us want a more sporty drive than the Icon, Design or Excel offers and because the GR-Sport is what the dynamic was, the sportiest to drive in the range. “Everything else” most certainly isn’t the same either. The GR-Sport comes bigger, wider wheels with stickier rubber, beefed up and retuned suspension for better road holding, re-tuned steering which is heavier and quicker on the turn, has underbody aero (which has made its way onto all the ‘23 trim level Yaris now) and the chassis has extra underbody bracing to further its road holding ability.

you're the only one who can decide what's best for you it doesn't matter which model you get they are all great little cars just enjoy whatever you decide to get
I have the exell in 22 plate and it's got blind spot monitoring and folding electric heated indicator adjustable mirrors and auto headlight dipping and sport seats privacy glass panoramic roof scarlet red pearlescent paint ithink the panoramic roof it was ordered with none of them don't come as standard I don't think

I will buy one very soon👍🏻

You won’t go wrong with any model you choose, icon, design, excel or GR Sport, don’t forget that 2024 GR gets the 130 bhp engine
@@paul_nwsxs thanks for that ur a star and by the way loved the review
It’s a magnificent machine….what more could anyone want ?

Hello, do you know why you can’t get the black roof, I wanted one but they have Sid my only option is to get it wrapped.

Dad’s car was originally ordered in November as a pure white no options
We changed the order on January 6th 2023 and asked for ash grey and city pack
The November order was still a valid order as of that time it was nowhere near build so changing things was not an issue
If we had not changed the order he would of had a white no options in may
But we both think adding the city pack and changing the colour makes sense for him as he didn’t realise what a nice colour ash grey is and after he drove my car had to have the city pack as I said in the video it was the blind spot monitor he picked out instantly as an option he realised will make his motoring experience a lot safer

Ordered myne in January in ash grey so excited 😆
You will enjoy the car, well worth the wait
Hi, please advise on where to get this rear bumper diffuser. Thanks
I’d suggest Toyota or if you’re lucky ebay or a breakers
The new gr sport i have ordered is not coming in bitone roof any more. I think thats been discontinued
The bi tone option was discontinued a long time ago
Best option is to get it wrapped

@@mikesanders5433 The '23 Excel has most of that also, apart from 18' wheels. I doubt you would find much difference, handling wise between them now.
I’m going to get the xl instead of this gr.. I don’t like the gr sport

Frantic stunt
gr for americans , for the real one you have to drive manual
Some of us have disabilities and can no longer drive manuals, so it’s important we have choices
I agree what's the craze to change gear saves Messing about with clutch and up and down gears In traffic queues your left foot is just resting
